• Captivate 8 - characters Media display during playback of the slide, but not published

  I placed characters in my content to display for specific times.  For example, one pointing to an article for the period of time and then pointing to another way for a period of time.  They are stacked one on the other, dealt with and that they fade in and out. When previewing a slide, they play / display perfectly.  However, when I saw ' the project' or ' this Slide"or publish it as a .swf, they do not move.  Only the first character in the first hour is displayed for the duration of the entire slide.  I spent tons of time trying to figure WHY?  Can you help me?

  Indeed, chronology confirms totally what I suspected.

  You have two interactive objects: a button (button_3) and a box of text entry, which are both stopping the timeline at 1.5secs.  Any object whose chronology starts later that 1.5 seconds will never be until the button or the ETB have been used and the playhead is released.

  What did you do with this button and TEB? The TEB chronology ends even before the appearance of the second character (table of contents are the label) at 9secs.

  In case you're wondering why the slide audio plays on: once it starts to play, he will continue even when an interactive object is at the point of suspension. Audio slide will only be suspended by a real Pause command.

• regexp_replace with all characters from the keyboard

  Using Oracle 11 g 2. I am developing an expression that replaces all characters not found on the keyboard number 2. However, the expression that I developed does not manage all characters. When testing it, some characters are replaced with success, while others are not. For example, if I remove the () in the list of regexp_replace, I should wait for the result of the query to display 22, but it doesn't. Similar results, that's happened to the other characters. Here's my query. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  -in a class character between character indicates a range, so & -~ does, including (and).

  [[Using characters such as] and - in a characterclass, they must be placed in dedicated positions] during the first and the last (or the first if that is not used for another).

• Several photo-boutons - how to stop the slide

  My problem:

  A slide with a map of the world, some of the buttons as target-markers. If you click on one of these points, a button with some information (its all about visibility). A simple click in this button close itself. It is possible to click on any target so many times that the user want to. It is also possible to open all the buttons text by pressing all the orange dots. Audio slide is 22 seconds long, is so the slide duration. How can I stop the slide until Zlaws when the user hits down navigation button on the left (perpetualButton_AS3)?

  

  

  I'm afraid, the solution is quite simple, I just can't understand it. Any help is welcome, the clock is ticking... delivery of a teaser in less than 4 hours and still video work to do.

  Not sure if that's what you want, but the event manager Widget would allow you to each timed display legends of success for a given number of seconds, or perform advanced actions to SHOW or HIDE captions when users click on the points.  You can set preferences in the widget to reset pass/fail criteria after Action to allow users to click on an object as many times as they want to repeat the action.  Set break preferences to permanently stop the slide until the user clicks another button to move to the next slide.

• Additional text in the slide Notes

  After that we publish a file present, the output displays additional text in the slide notes (e.g. PROJECT ONLY - Version 1.0 - last updated September 2, 2010...).  This text does not appear in the Notes slide from the original file.  I'm trying to determine if there is a framework for managing versions of Powerpoint or presenter that is causing this behavior.  I was not always able to understand.  I'm working on an operating system XP with Office 2010 installed. I use v.7.0.5 Presenter.  I tried to run the 7.0.6 patch update, but I get a message that it is not a valid Win32 application.  I don't know if these 2 problems are associated with the same cause.

  Does anyone know how to solve this problem of Notes slide?

  In Powerpoint - go to the INSERT tab, and then select header and footer, you will see the notes you cite are appearing.

  I spent hours on it, seen all Lieve and Adobe materials and all what I've accomplished is a headache and about 50 actions and variables in the trash can. Any help would be appreciated... a lot!

  I have a training scenario where the learner is delivered in an entry slide (slide 1 for simplicity). On this slide, there are four photos of managers to talk with. A clickbox on each photo sends you a new slide. (ie: Manager 1 (M1) sends you to slide 2 (S2), M2 = S3, etc.). Once you see the Manager info click on a "back" button and are sent back to slide 1, so you can visit all four managers. Once completed, the learner selects a button continue and jumps to slide 6 in continue the scenario.

  Objective:

  1. when the learner chooses a Director and goes to the Manager page, on their return to the slide of entry, I would like to see a green check mark of their photo.

  2. I want the button 'continue' hidden until all the Manager of four pages were examined.

  Sounds simple? So I thought.

  One last question:

  You can attach shares advanced to a slide and a clickbox. Who has priority? Will be used rather than the other.

  Funny you should post this question because that's EXACTLY what I had to do for a client of mine, a month or two back, except that in his case, it was 6 different roles involved in a business process.

  I had a picture of each role on the master slide with a widget event handler attached to each, but a click box would have done the job just as well.  By clicking on the picture performed a tip Action to move to the slide in which you said all about how this role participated in the process of the company.

  I created a separate variable for each called [RoleName] role done with the default value of 0 and a tip for each called whole [RoleName] role Action performed.  Then I put the OnExit from each role information slide action to perform this action.

  Here's what looked like a typical action:

  

  As you can see, when the learner is out the slide of role information, and he performs this action, it assigns to the variable ManagementSponsorDone 1, and then jump to the slide Menu roles (the slide with pictures of role).

  When the arriives user to the menu slide it works a conditional Advanced Action OnSlideEnter called ShowTicks that looks like the value of the variable of each role to see whether or not it has been set to 1 and if so, reveals the tick sitting on the photo of this role.

  Here is what looks like the menu slide. Each scale has an element name that indicates what role it applies to (ManagerTick, etc.):

• No sound when previewing the slides - only Captivate 1

  I try to get the slides to play the soundtrack when I preview the slide to synchronize some highlight boxes. He used to work, but after using the Audio button to listen to a track, he stopped.   Before resorting to something a little on the involved side, by chance are you sighted in the editor? When you press F3, the SPACEBAR or clicking the play button bit just above the toolbar to the stage where it says "Slide Properties...". » ?

  If so, it is very likely that you have managed to inadvertently, click on the small speaker icon in this area to cut the preview playback.

  That give it a go and see if it's what it is.

• Japanese characters in the left pane

  I have a project that has been translated into Japanese, and the left pane of my FlashHelp system does not make the characters correctly. The funny thing is that I got it working in another project that has been translated, which I think was built in X 5 (or maybe earlier) and has a skin that RoboHelp says should be updated when I generate the output. I don't dare change it now, and it seems to work fine.
  
  Unfortunately, I don't have a record of exactly how I got it to work , but I remember that it had to do with incorporation of the Japanese characters in the Flash skin files. Fonts are also declared in the .fhs file and the XML file and I don't know how they interact, but it seems that the fonts in the files Flash are more important than those in the skin file.
  
  In my most recent project, the toolbar buttons appear in Japanese, as do the titles of the 'conditions' and 'definitions' in the glossary and the quick index key. It's the TOC entries, glossary and terms indexed that have the problem, and they are all driven by the skin_textnode.swf file. As long that other files are worth Arial or Arial Unicode MS in Flash, they display Japanese properly, even if the Japanese is not embedded (using "anti-alias for animation"). Without Japanese incorporated in skin_textnode.fla, I get this kind of nonsense in the left pane: a ¢ a™ ae¤oec´'‹. But with integrated Japanese, I get symbols like paragraph symbols, plus-minus-or signs and daggers. I also saved the file (table of contents) .hhc and .hhk (index) in UTF-8 format using Notepad, but no change there. Unwanted characters also appear in the overlay window when you click on a word in the index, and is led by skin_index.fla. I tried fonts and characters overlay in this file. I tried to change ' do-family: Arial "in the skin at the same time file" police: "Arial Unicode MS" ' and "police:"Arial '" No difference.
  
  I compared files with this earlier project. As far as I can tell, I did similar things, but the unwanted characters persist in the left pane. It does not appear that there are significant differences between the old way and the new skins are executed to cause the Japanese to work in one and not the other. Any ideas that could help me make this work again? I use RoboHelp 6, Windows XP SP2, IE 6. (In theory, doing this work for the Japanese will also solve my problem for Russian.) I hope RH7 language skills to manage this better so I don't have to use these alternatives for non-Latin characters).

  Solved: I found once more than the table of contents, glossary and index information are extracted from files in the whxdata folder:... whtdata xml, whgdata, xml and whidata... xml, respectively, all of which are in UTF-8 format. Japanese characters need to be changed in these files, but they crushed for a generation, so that they must be stored with the correct characters in another location. Fortunately, our glossary will probably not change, but the table of contents and index will grow as the project goes forward, so this will take some babysitting.

  Leading everyone to wonder why RoboHelp generating copies of .glo, .hhc and .hhk files in the output folder when it's the XML files that are used in the place...

  The 'local' part in the context of email addresses, the part to the left of the symbol @. The warning is a bit of a surprise, because in general the owner of a mail server is relatively free to specify the address format. There is a movement to allow the games to other characters to be used in the fields, so I'm a little disappointed to see that, apparently, e-mail does not support the latter in the local part yet or it can be your SMTP server that generates this message.

  ASCII characters ("American Standard Code for Information Interchange") are, on the whole, the English alphabet, uppercase and lowercase, as well as figures, common punctuation and case of things like the asterisks, obliques and media bars, but not of accented characters. But even apparently simple things like spaces and dashes have cousins who, at first glance, appear to be identical, but are not represented in the ASCII system. I am thinking especially nonbreaking spaces, dash and half-quadratin.

  But I don't know why your new computer must have caused these warnings.

• Password Manager won't save the username

  Sometimes, the password manager does not save the username, but just the password. A way to insert the username, or forcing the Manager to save it? I have experimented with this and are unable to save the user name.

  It might be 5% of my password sites. Could not get an any of them to work right. They are all different types of sites.

  You can try the 'saved Password Editor' found on the page modules. I find it rather useful myself.

  Try this:

  Select an e-mail who don't watch all the correct buttons in the section above the message header information itself.

  Right-click on the empty area just above 'Other Actions', you should get a window saying 'customize '.
  Click on "Customize."
  opens in a new window.
  You can drag items on the header area, but I suggest that you click on the 'Restore Default Set' button, then click on the "Done" button.

• Number of characters in the title and description standard?

  This may seem like a strange question, but I want to learn how to write better titles and view descriptions. I want as little of the title and description to be as truncated as possible.

  Currently, most of my episodes watch only about 17 characters in the title, but some shows were up to 40 characters showing their title until it is truncated.

  No idea why there is a difference and what I can do to get as many characters / words showing as other shows?

  My show is Let's Talk Tech and an example of one with longer titles is stuff you need to know.

  In the iTunes Store there seems to be plenty of room for the main title. However, the episode titles get truncated if you reduce the width of the window. The column 'Description' (filled by the tag "itunes:subtitle") does not have a lot of space and you must keep the captions as short as possible. 'itunes:summary' tags can be quite long because the secondary window that opens to show them scrolls if necessary.

  When you subscribe in iTunes, the user can adjust the widths of the title and descriptions based on himself, so there is no prediction on the size. Once again, the content of the "itunes" Summary "tag can be quite long.

  It is best to keep the short titles - I have seen podcasts with a title that includes what is actually a sub-title, and it seems a bit ridiculous. people tend to write the tags "itunes:subtitle" long enough and is not a good idea because they will definitely get truncated.

• Firefox 17.0.7. Display the menu, when you are using extended view (Win7), flickers off when you move the slider to a selection. Reg FF version works fine.

  Firefox menus (file, editing, etc.) and user bookmark lists flicker in and out of visibility when you move the slider to a selection. This happens on the primary display only the second screen. It does not occur on regular product version (23, etc.) and does not occur on any other application.

  We are required to use version 17 on internal business machines.

  Bob Hello, that might be a problem with hardware acceleration - try updating your graphics driver, or in case this does not solve the problem, or there is no new version available at the time, disable hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > General.
