Manufacturers of my warranty is transferable?

Hello Forum,

You have a question for my first post.

I bought a Satellite Pro Amazon.co.uk a month ago, but I decided to sell it on ebay. A customer wants to buy, he wants the manufacturer's warranty but problem is that I'm already registered it with my name. Can I get this warranty transferred to his name somehow to make him eligible for it? If this is not possible, is there some other way around him? I send my proof of purchase (invoice from Amazon) to him.

Please get back to me!

Marie.

Well, I think it might be possible to warranty laptops.
The laptop is new and the warranty is valid for the laptop.

I think you should contact the authorized service provider in your country for details.
I think they could help you change the registration details

I bought a W530 a month ago. However, my wife has a new laptop of Lenovo for work, leaving us with old seat T500 do nothing. The T500 really would make me very well (too felt my needs when ordering). Trying to weigh the pros and cons; could sell T500 for not great thing, or sell W530 for a reasonable fee, but examination of the latter requires that the guarantee can transfer to a new owner (receiving). Can someone advise?

    Thank you.

I can not address political or laws that are specific to the United Kingdom, but in general, the guarantee is linked to the machine. He who has the machine has warranty. There is nothing to transfer. There are exceptions for machines bought as 'refurmished '.

  • Warranty on my Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop

    Dear Toshiba

I've owned a couple of Toshibas new so far, and they have always served me well!

With my laptop business, I have to remember to save when I bought it, but with my camera private, I've forgotten to do. Now that I think of selling, I would like to register, so that the warranty is extended to the next owner. The laptop is in perfect condition, so it is a formality, but if I wanted to buy a used laptop, I'd also appreciate some kind of security approved by factory.

I have a Satellite A200-1WR, s/n 28 222 536 K. When I tried to register it, I filled yesterday's date, assuming that he would show me the date of purchase. Instead, I got a screen saying that the date I had supplied is too far from the production date. I don't know what was the exact purchase date, besides that it is less than a year ago. However, I am sure that I bought in October or November 2008.

Anyway, I hope you can help me get the interest registered correctly, so that I can sell the laptop with all the service that makes the best laptop made Toshiba on the market.

I hope hear from you soon!

    Your really

    Adam

Hmm, I don't think that the warranty is transferable, have a read of the documents guaranteed on the Toshiba site.

  • 15 "display v.2000

    Hello

I bought 15 "retina on last August.

Only 6 months I bought and I guarantee 1 year.

3 days ago I accidentally closed the laptop, a USB port placed on his keyboard and there have been serious effects on the screen.

I want to ensure I didn't close it with great force, or press hard close.

As soon I noticed that there is something on the keyboard, I have re-opened and there was a pretty serious v.2000.

I want to assure that I don't travel with my laptop

In addition, I even put the protective screen film.

However, with the tiny little accident broke the screen!

and it makes no sense because "laptop" supposed to be travel as well as the user

and when it is designed, it should be able to withstand some degree of impact.

But the model of the retina display is so fragile and with tiny USB breaks the display. SAME with the top protective film.

This notebook should be placed on a desk in a protective environment, threat or what?

I didn't have that kind of weakness with 10' MacBook Pro and my experience with the retina is so disappointing.

I contacted Apple Customer Service and they are too busy to convince me that 1 year warranty would not cover the breaking of the display.

I want to see Apple a dignity to take responsibility on their product and the customer who has been faithful in more than 5 years, instead of simply make them pay more. Is it possible to fix my macbook with my 1 year warranty free of charge.

I'm not officially a Genius Bar, but I'm sure they will charge you to fix 99.9999%.  The estimate will be free, however.

This is "abuse".  It is not supposed to be anything between the keyboard and the screen when the circuit is closed.

There is that you can buy to extend support manufacturers phone and warranty to 3 years, to cover the flaws in logic and keyboards AppleCare.  Whatever Mac, you intend to keep and count on should have.

  • Re: What do I get from my HARD drive warranty claim?

I see lots of posts with the same problem, I've had and a lot of discussion of a warranty call, but I can't find someone explain the traps to get there - unlike most search forums does not check the titles not happy (?)

I ask because I recently had my claim accepted-, but the lack of information is absolutely breathtaking.

Hope you can help - there is nowhere where do ^ $^.

    * This is the problem: *.

I have had no communication by electronic mail after the acceptance with a case REF.

The ref case led me to a room containing nothing else than what I told them - even if I added my email to research.

The first time that the doc came, he had a number of high long distance phone in - I wasn't there because I was expecting a few emails - the number has now disappeared.

I checked every day and can't find any more - at one point I stopped to add my email to research - I think now it was a mistake - a mailing label appeared now - WITH NO INFORMATION whatsoever.

I desperately need to know if they will fix my 2 GB Canvio or not. A replacement is of no use to me - I'd rather cut the damn thing apart and try out the disc directly myself.

This is essential - it isn't a toaster or a TV, etc. it is really sold as a safe. If you buy a metal safe and we're not manufacturers will open it by hook or crook and give you save your valuable documents, manuscripts, etc. family photos (even if you have copies elsewhere) - they won't trash the thing and send you a void in Exchange!

It is the only place to turn that might work (probably because it costs Toshiba nothing).

    Thank you.

^ $^ The Toshiba site is useless - does not work most relevant links, most of those who don't take you round in circles, there is NO address of contact or telephone line, unless you want to talk to the team of the press (of course). It's a disaster - an amateur who.

    Hello

Sorry to hear that you have problems with your HDD Canvio. It's a really bad situation if use you it for backup of data and are saved a lot of useful data.

Please don't misunderstand me, but after reading your ad I didn't understand one thing: have you contacted maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country?
You have some basic information how it works with defective external HARD drive?
    Who is your contact?

You know, this is user forum and it is not easy to discuss these issues. Each of us can post opinions and describe specific experiences, but, as far as I know, there are rules, how it works with service and warranty. I think Toshiba ASP is required to offer a detailed explanation to customers.

To be honest it is unclear to me how it works with the data protection and data recovery in case the HARD disk is defective.
Do you still have the slip that you got with your HARD drive? I have three years old Toshiba HDD but I did so I can't check what's written there.

    > (i) how to check if the recovery partition is windows 8 or 10.

My guess is 'Windows 8 '.

    How to confirm:

    1. buy a disk from Seagate or Western Digital drive.

    2. use the software these manufacturers provide for "clone" of the original drive to the new drive.

    3. attach the clone to another computer, as a 'slave' hard drive.

4 remove all content the largest partition (the one that contains Windows 10).

    5 detach the clone disk.

6 detach your original disks from your computer and place it nearby, carefully and described as 'original. '

    7. fix the clone disk.

8 start since this recovery partition

    9. what operating system offer to install?

    10 remove the clone disk.

    11 reattach the original drive.

Or, perhaps, to look at the time stamp on the files in the recovery partition.

If it is Windows 8, the 'average' age of files will be much older than if it was Windows 10.

    > partition (ii) the recovery seems to be total about 16GB, but the files inside it are only about 600 MB of total.

There are a lot of 'hidden' files which is not included in this total of 600 MB.

In addition, based on the geometry of your hard-drive, 16 GB is probably the smallest 'slice' that can be allocated.

    > (iii) if possible pls tell me the steps to create a windows 10 recovery partition.

    Beginning

    Parameters

    System

    Recovery

to write on a 16 GB - USB - drive all the files necessary to reinstall Windows 10.

Not a partition on your hard disk (which could fail), but a "device."

  • Satellite L650D-11R. Need help with warranty

    Hi all

I have purchsed in March 2011 a Toshiba L650D-11R from Amazon.co.uk that I used for the odd bit of games/internet browsing.

In January 2012, but my Windows operating system failed during use & fails to reload. I have no recovery disk fail to achieve the recovery mode to HARD drive on the system itself that the screen remains black & won't go further.

After reading the warranty Toshiba it quotes + "Toshiba does not provide any warranty, express or implied, for any preinstalled software, its quality, performance, marketability or SUITABILITY has a specific use. '" Neither Toshiba ensures that the functions contained in the software will meet your requirements or that the operation of the software will be uninterrupted or error-free. » +

I would like to know if yes or no that covers Windows 7 I don't know if this is considered in the software or is included in the guarantee any himself.

Any answer would be most appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Hello

Sorry to hear that you have problems with your laptop. In any case for every situation, there are solution, isn't it?

In general and almost all laptop manufacturers, Toshiba offer portable computers with preinstalled operating system and saved on the HARD drive recovery image. In the past, they offered equipped laptops of recovery disk in the package. It is not longer the case.

This backup recovery disk must be created by the owner of the laptop and this drive can be used for the installation of the OS, if something goes wrong with the HARD drive or there is a problem with access to the recovery image stored on the HARD disk. S manuals described how to create this HARD drive. Toshiba also preinstalled reminder that informs the user of the laptop on the creation of recovery disks.

    Have you ever seen it?

Anyway, AFAIK warranty will not cover this, and if you want to use the original recovery disk to have factory settings again you must order it from Toshiba.

You can order it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Satellite A210-10Y increase procedure RAM & warranty

    Hi all

I have a satellite A210-10Y with 2 GB of RAM. But now I want to increase the memory to 4 GB.
(which is possible to do so).

My question is; When I open the back of my laptop to install the RAM card, this will end my right to the warranty? Ending date of my warranty has not jet been passed and is still due for a few months, and I'm having some problems with the hard drive so I want to make use of the warranty, some days.

I was also wondering if there are differences in quality between the manufacturers of these cards and what would be the best option for me to choose. I already found a site that looks great to me:

    www.Kingston.com

In addition, I understand that my current RAM consists of two cards of 1024 MB each. Is does that mean I have to buy two full nine cards each containing 2 GB?

Thank you very much for your help in advance!

    Hello!

Yes, it is possible to increase the RAM to 4 GB.
It is the maximum size that the chipset is not supported.
Of course, you can buy RAM Kingston. It is a good RAM and many users bought these modules if you are looking for a little bit in the forum. The part No. for 2GB on accessories for Toshiba is: PA3513U-1M2G

And you will not lose the warranty. It easy to change or update the RAM to use s.

An upgrade to 4 GB, you have two 2 GB modules.

  • Yoga 2 inches 11 cost of out-of-warranty battery replacement

How much does it cost to replace the battery for the new Yoga 2 11 inches when you are out of warranty? Batteries die within 1 or 2 years about and at this time there, you're also out of warranty the standard warranty of 1 year. I'm looking into buying a portable Yoga 2 11 inches and a part of the decision-making process between this and other brand of PC or Macbook is how much it would cost to replace the battery, since it is a non-replaceable by the user stack. I know that with Apple, it's $ 129 to replace the battery. This information is readily available on the Internet. However with Lenovo, this information is not available everywhere.

I have already contacted on the phone the Sales Department, which is unclear and transferred me to the tech Department, who told me that the parts or sales would have that information. When I told them that the sales referred me to tech, I was transferred to pieces. Parts told me that they need the serial number to give me an accurate price on the drum part, but since I don't, I told them that I'm interested in the Yoga 2 11 inch model to which they said they can't give me a price because they cannot know with certainty what is the part number. Yet once I tried sales, this time via online chat, and once again, they have no information and referred me to tech or contact a lenovo reseller.

So nobody knows how much a battery replacement cost? Somebody should know since I do not know those charged to get their battery replaced some time down the line. I think it's a simple question, how much does it cost to replace a battery for the battery and work when you are out of warranty? Thank you

    Hello

part numbers, you will need are 121500224 (lg) and 121500223 (simplo). for the price, I suggest you call again support.

    I hope this helps.

    I have a question.

If you read my thread on the nightmare of deposit, the resolution is to give me a different unit. However, this device has a different serial number than the one specified for my extended warranty. How can I get that transferred from the device was replaced with a new one under warranty?

  • Can't decide on a PC and a Question about the warranty.

Hello. After seeing EVERYTHING at my disposal, HP is one. This is where the problem begins. I know which one I choose is custom. But do the desktop PC HP ENVY Phoenix h9 - 1400t or the desktop HP ENVY h8 - 1520t? I'll do the average more stuff: photo editing, movies, burning CD/DVD and looking in the game (very very new to the game).

I have a budget that my wife won't let me go. So to get a PC will not be 100% to my tastes. In order to get 100%, I'll have to get a LIGHTSCRIBE DRIVE and a 120 GB SSD to add to the computer. Get the SSD installed at HP puts me on the budget and I'm not the extra burner. If I add these two things to the PC myself it the WARRANTY?

We will also add 2 more to the House. Laptop, Ultrabook or tablet. I don't know who. All will need a recovery/boot. Optical drive may not be on all. What should I use Dedicated USB Flash key for each or external hard drive (all three spend on one) or should I arrange to put everything on DVD.

To my knowledge, lighscribe is outdated technology. There are not many manufacturers optical drive with lightscribe now.

Addition of 128GB SSD does not void warranty.

Is recommended to have a separate 16 GB / 32 GB flash drives according to the recommendation of the system to keep the recovery image.

I would recommend Flash as the disks.

  • Touchscreen and keyboard questions? Warranty abroad?

    Hi all

Recently, I went to the United States and received a Motorola Cliq as a gift from a friend. It has worked perfectly well for recent months, until about an hour before. I used Nimbuzz, when all of a sudden the touchsceen stopped working. So, I slid the keyboard to the rear, to find that the touch screen worked very well. So, here's the deal. Touch screen of my phone doesn't work when the keyboard is out, but when the keyboard is in, the touchscreen works perfectly.

I have reset it in every way I could, but it didn't work.

So, I took the logical step of the call for Motorola (Australia). They told me to talk to my service provider, who was told to talk with the provider of services of MOOSE. So I called T-mobile, who told me to call Motorola WE, who told me to call Motorola Australia. Catch 22.

Anyone out there have any ideas? I learned to love this phone as if it was my own sweet child and become very attached to it.

    @ducky12221

The guarantee applies only in the country of origin. This is because not all models are available in all regions. It would be expensive to have pieces in all regions for each model. I apologize if the service you receive is not user-friendly. Certainly, which shouldn't be the case. However, you will need to send the phone to the United States for warranty service that the original person who bought the phone is one that is guaranteed. The guarantee is not transferable.

I see that your software is up-to-date and you mention that you already have a data reset. Have you tried to do the reset and then configure the phone with another email address to ensure that it is not something related to your MOTOBLUR ID. If the touch screen is disabled only when the keyboard is slid, it may be a hardware issue, however, it may be a few odd app causing the problem. Only way to get a real refreshment is data factory reset and then set up with a new e-mail address as ID MOTOBLUR. The 2.1 update is not that far if you can wait to file it after the 2.1 update came out to see if it's maybe a software issue fixed by the upgrade.

  • (Redirected) Warranty and worst Customer Service

I have a dell inspiron 5755. Recently, the computer stopped recognizing the charger dell charger and will not charge the battery.  I verified that it is a bad charger and nothing wrong with my laptop.  I called the technical support and all first they told me that I had to upgrade the bios, but since the battery was less than 10%, I have to send my laptop while they could upgrade the bios.  I refused, declaring that I just need a charger and was informed that they would not send me a charger and I had to send my laptop.  I spoke with a supervisor who then told me that I had to drop it because my laptop was bad and I need to update the bios.  I told her that there is nothing wrong with my laptop. This is the cord. and I checked it.  He told me that they would not send me a charger I would need to drop it. I asked to talk to his boss and he said that was not a boss. He said he signed his own payslip.  I asked to speak to the customer service and he refused to transfer me to a first time indicating that they couldn't help me.  Again, I asked and he transferred me somewhere that has been closed.

A few days later I received a call from customer support and I explained what had happened and told me he would send me a.  After several times being on hold and 45 minutes... He then informed me that the power supply is not covered by my warranty and they will send me one but I have to pay for it.  This was the worst experience I've ever had with a computer manufacturer.  I will never buy another Dell.
