Marking a doc at expeort as a PDF/A-2's / accessible PDF

I'm looking through the options for marking up a document ID so that it gets exported in PDF - PDF/A-2 has to be precise - in the most convenient and accessible using Acrobat Pro (XI). I see that I can tag things in three ways:

-With XML tags with the palette "tags".

-With items with the palette 'items '.

-Assign PDF Tags Palette "paragraph Style".

My doubts are:

-Do I need to use three ways? I saw that with InDesign simple documents I managed to get a valid PDF/A-2's and with a little tweak needed 508 accessibility test.

-Is one of the three ways "superior" to the other?

-Is one of them replaced by another?

-Am I completely lost and I do need something like that to get a PDF/A-2 or a PDF accessible? (BTW, no, I don't mistakingly taking PDF/A-2 for a PDF, it is another story entirely accessible ).

Thanks in advance.

InDesign does not support the creation of PDF/A files, although it supports direct export to PDF / X. You can take a directly exported in InDesign PDF/X-4 file and also allow him to move on to the PDF/A-2 b format. However, no special markings that you do in InDesign would not be passed on the resultant PDF / X / PDF/A files.

You can suggest in favour of support for the direct export of PDF/A as a request for functionality to the InDesign development organization.

Having asked in the forum Adobe Reader, it is good to know that Adobe Reader cannot create PDF, manipulate the content of a PDF page, or export the contents of a PDF page to the other supported formats.

    There are alternatives.

You can use Acrobat to create a PDF file from a DOC file.
Use a workflow that integrate fonts (note that some fonts licenses do not allow this).

You can use the Adobe 'PDF Pack' online subscription service.

  • How to change the extension Doc and convert it to PDF format

I don't have Word, but have a few documents that need to be converted to PDF.  What would be the best way to do this?  I am very limited, not very computer saavy, so I don't know if there is a program that I can buy to convert documents without having to also buy Word.  Thank you very much.

I recommended a free pdf printer that literally transforms any type of file to pdf format. Once installed, you will have a printer added to your computer. Then, in Microsoft Word, you can select the newly added printer and print your document. But instead of a paper copy, you will have your PDF file saved in the computer.

Try google: PDFcreator or cutePDF for more information

    Thank you!

You will need to re - register as a TXT file and check the formatting - Works cannot save documents as a JPG (picture format) or PDF (Portable Document Format).

  • Annotating and save a pdf doc

My friend sent me a doc pdf multipage for proofreading/editing.

CS6 it swallowed up in the form of multiple images (one per page).

I selected each and marked it with the brush and sometimes the text tool.  This fine all worked out.

But when I tried to combine and save the images as a simple doc I couldn't understand the process so I had to send the doc piecemeal return as both PDF.

There is more docs pending.  How can I mark the top and send docs to return also marked instead of separate pages?

    Thank you!

File - automate - PDF presentation, it was placed back in CS6 for multi page PDFs are possible.

See MVP Jack's response, but I would add two things:

    1. If you need a pdf authoring program, I recommend the free cutepdf.

    2. the statement "no one can open or view the attachment unless they".
use Windows Vista as well"is not correct. What operating system that they
term is not relevant, and it doesn't have to be the same operating system
than the one that you are running.

What version of Word are you running? In this case, Word 2007 or 2010, when
you save a document, the default format is not .docx. doc. If you are
send .docx (or .xlsx) files to a person running an old
version of Word or Excel, except if they have installed the Microsoft «»
Office for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 file compatibility pack
    Formats.
    http://Office.Microsoft.com/en-us/Word-help/open-a-Word-2007-document-in-an-earlier-version-of-Word-HA010044473.aspx
    or http://tinyurl.com/29f5scy

Alternatively, if you want to send files, you can save the files
in the formats .doc and .xls instead of the new .docx and .xlsx formats.
but make a "Save as" instead of a 'save' and choosing the elder
    format.

Thus, it may well be that you simply have to do the above and not worth
    sending to all .pdf files.

I don't know what PDF "virtual" printer that you use, but you can simply add the free Microsoft SaveToPDF complement for your installation of Microsoft Office and avoid these 'virtual' PDF printers.  Your assistant head of household can already do.

  • Conversion of doc to PDF. does not work

Using Windows 7. Whenever I try to convert a doc from MS word in PDF, MS Word hangs and the doc is permanently damaged. This happens if I click with the right button on the MS to convert doc or pull down the file menu and try to print to PDF.

    Hello

    1. Please try to update Acrobat XI and Microsoft Office 2013 and see if that solves the problem.

2 - If update does not work, try to repair Acrobat, because this will open Acrobat > help > fix the Installation of Acrobat.

3 - If the problem persists, try to repair MS Office, click Start > Control Panel > programs and features > Microsoft Office > right click > change > choose repair.

  • Creator PDF combine docx doc files

Hello, can I combine is no longer typical Office file, specifically files .doc or .docx in the pdf generator.  It only accepts pdf files by combining several files in order to generate a single pdf file.  I know that it used to work (at least on my PC).  I am also aware that I can save it as a pdf to Word and then combine, but which is much longer and is a work around for a pretty basic feature that I can't go to work.  I searched this forum and have been slow to find a solution to this problem.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Running Mac OS 10.8.2 and Acrobat X.  Office 2011.  Thank you.

The key here is: I know that it used to work (at least on my PC)

    Never worked on a Mac.

  • Can no longer convert DOC to PDF

I use Acrobat Pro 6 years to convert DOCs (2003) Microsoft Word to PDF.  After a power failure, some of my Adobe products had to be repaired and re-recorded.  On the other side of this procedure, I seem to have lost the conversion function.  When I click on the right button of the mouse on a DOC file, I always get a possibility to convert the file, but nothing happens.  How to restore this function?  (my Acrobat 6 Pro is part of the Adobe Creative Suite Premium package).

Try to open Word, then select help, everything.  Click the button for "disabled items".  If there is the pdf components disabled, select and "allow."  Need to do separately in each Office application (Excel, etc.).
