  I use a laptop running Windows XP and LabView 8.5.  I have a variety of USB to serial port devices that I use from time to time.  In the past (from what I remember), has accepted the name assigned by Windows, and MAX (COM1, COM2, etc.).  Recently however, MAX seems to think there are three serial ports on the computer, but the tags with a little black 'x' by saying that the device is in a State of 'unknown '.  Using the Windows Control Panel, I see that no serial port is listed in the system until I have Plug one of the converters in.  When the converter is connected Windows automatically recognizes and says it works normally.  It seems that MAX does not allow me to delete the serial ports that scored because they did not add statically.

  Is there a way to clear the MAX?  This has not caused any problem I was not able to get around yet, but it should be clarified.

  There are few software or applications that do not function correctly on Windows 8 that are not compatible with it. But as per information Autodesk 3ds Max 2013 is compatible with Windows 8.

  Hey. I read that Microsoft personnel monitor the Microsoft Answers so I wanted to provide feedback regarding the new Windows 8.

  I've tested it (but not actively) phases of beta - DP, CP, RP, etc.. Now, I used it actively on my main laptop since the 16 th August. I use Windows 8 PRO x 64, I downloaded the portal of Microsoft volume licensing.

  If previously on this laptop, I had Windows 7 PRO x 64.

  Positive:

  I like Windows 8 is that unlikely as Windows 7, Windows 8 new start-up takes no more than 3-5 seconds. So if my laptop was arrested, after I pressed the power button, it will work in 5 seconds max. Windows 7 takes about 40 seconds to view the desktop on this computer after the Start button.

  Windows 8 more technologies, it is more secure than Windows 7 by default (Windows Smart Screen, AV integrated, etc...)

  I love the metro app travel - there a lot of Nice information about the country.

  I like new accounts who have pictures, I love the picture passwords.

  Negative:

  At first, and during the beta test, I found it would be better, but now, after using it for about 3 weeks of all day for several hours, I see a lot is worse for a laptop user.

  First of all, I rely on the office and several times when I need to go there I have to click one to two other buttons for take me there as well just familiar interface.

  Metro integrated applications are VERY LIMITED - a few examples: the Mail application is so fundamental that you can't imagine. When the new service of cloud Outlook.com appeared I thought that the final RTM of Windows 8 E-mail request will be the same. But I see that even the Outlook.com site has a lot more features than the built-in Mail application tube. Miss me the features and I need either to install an application Part 3 (who still uses the desktop computer) or install Outlook 2013 (but it is paid and who knows what that will be the final version). Same Outlook 2007/2010 is not Metro application.

  • The Reader app - in, you cannot mark a text from a PDF file and copy it to the Clipboard - and elsewhere. It is very basic function that each PDF application. 3rd party PDF apps aren't subway style.
  • The Metro News app is nothing more that a collection of news sources - so IE is used.
  • The Metro of THE variant is very limited compared to IE's Desktop 10. We cannot do a lot of things and we can't see the two different windows at the same time.
  • The SkyDrive Metro app - in it, I can only download a file, but I can't decide with him where he - place in public or another folder. I have to use the SkyDrive.com site for more functions. SkyDrive metro App for download and upload, but nothing else.

  At the moment Windows 8 seems like a hybrid with some things from metro and other things office creature - but the metro is integrated to the main role of the plant. I can't get rid of all applications in Metro and all the things. I am a TI and small businesses - I want to do my job without being stopped by stupid clicks and limited applications. I don't want and I need less and I don't know why Microsoft decided to make Metro applications with limited compared to the variants of office functions.

  Sincerely, I hope that Microsoft changes its view (somehow) and do things to make them close to Windows 7. Metro things are not suitable for laptop / PC, and the idea of the hybrid is not idea (subway or office - only one, not both).

  What is 'increased to max? "  Do you mean that you have installed as much RAM that the computer can process?  How much RAM you have installed?  How much free disk space do you have?  You certainly don't "expand" your virtual memory to the max as Windows XP 32-bit supports up to 16 files for the Exchange with a size of 4 095 MB each or 16 terabytes of each with the PAE kernel active!

  When these errors of memory just start appearing for no apparent reason of malware is often because, these parasites often ramp request memory and force an increase in use of page file.  Make sure your machine is virus and parasite free, run a MalwareBytes scan on your computer: http://www.malwarebytes.org/

  If your machine is pest free and then take a look at the ongoing process and startup on your computer items.  Almost everything that you install on your computer wants to start by the computer whenever it is initialized, many, if not most of these things don't need to start when the computer is started and over time the list of startup items can become unsightly and they can consume some rare RAM on a machine with a marginal of installed RAM amount.

  Bonafide software can also be because, sometimes even 'good' software could have bugs or it could be in conflict with something else on your computer and cause a "memory leak".  Take a look in the Task Manager and see if anything it uses an excessive amount of memory.  Check also on the countdown to manage in the Task Manager, anything with 3 000 to 5 000 handles is suspicious, something with more than 5,000 handles is highly suspect as an application "buggy".  To view the handle account click on the view menu and click Select columns...

• Thunderbird 31 'Spell Check As Type' turns off after 1 or 2 corrections. System Win 7.

  Installed TB 31.4 and since updated updated to 31.6. System is Windows 7, updated, Core i7 and tons of RAM etc... Executable used British English but later it was replaced with the American version to see if it would fix a spelling problem. The option check spelling has always worked (as long as a character is not accidentally selected - a trap for beginners), out ongoing checks produce wavy underline traits, but after a small number are right-click corrected, for example. 1, 2 or 3 (variable) the rest of the wavy lines disappear. I noticed that they tended to be in other phrases and lines, but, as far as makes no difference. I tried American, British and Australian dictionaries. Tried Safe Mode. Only use Send later in TB, but have Firefox with extensions, but for most disabled and used TB with Firefox closed. Also have LibreOffice installed, recently implemented to date. Changed mail-compose-max-recycled-windows from 1 to 0. Use offline Comodo Internet Security suite, but I tried with all options off. Try anything has made all the difference.

  Another possibility would be to add-no.-line switch remote control in combination with the current profile of the command line in the shortcut to the desktop (-no - remote 'profile name' Pei).

  The development of the new API is pretty well done, but based on your feedback, we are planning to improve compatibility, so you can for example use the old APi 1.6.x and the new APi of 8532 on the same machine, so you can use the old and the new material on this same machine.   To clarify the situation today: The InCOM for Devicenet component is not part of LabVIEW. It's just a very simple means of communication with the I/o variables and blocks of function for the MS. The driver should install fine even without installed LV. The error message is quite a Bug on our side, and the solution would be to use the Builder installer LV to create a new installer that can install 2.0.x Incom Dnet driver without having installed Lv.

  And today, you should be able to have the 1.6.x both pilot 2.0.x in parallel and use the API 1.6.x with old boards yonce and the variable approach of IO 2.0.x with your new Board of Directors.

  I'll keep this post updated as soon as we have a stable Beta available I'll post something.

  I'm trying to use an NI PXI-8461/2 series 2 card in my controller time real NI PXI-1045.

  I use the "only periodic sample Output' and the 'Simple Sample Input" live.

  I get an error message: "the interface transmits images, but receives no device."

  The version of NI-CAN on my computer and the target RT is 2.6.2. The two ports have been updated with the same speed in MAX and channels have been set up correctly.

  I connected two ports using a (2 m long) female-female DB9 serial cable. What is the right type of cable? The ports are currently highspeed, I can't understand how their definition at its lowest in the MAX configuration window (he does no editing).

• The disk activity slows computer to a halt

  Hi all

  I'm new and don't really know how things work here, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

  In any case, I just built a PC brand new and I'm getting my most SSD 120 GB disk activity up to 100% when he opened no process which is demanding. Basiclally what is happening is that my time of activity goes all the way up to max, causing windows to slow and even restart windows Explorer. Also, I got a BSOD message twice, but randomly. They were the two NPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION errors if it means something. It is running this miserable new computer and I would like to address it quickly. I tried many solutions including SFC \STARTNOW to see if there are errors with windows and they were fixed aparently. This seems to happen more often once I do start cold which means that I no longer use it and turned to nothing (no mode 'sleep' or restart).

  To clarify some things, it's a whole new SSD. I bought it is more than two weeks. I'm running on windows 64 pro 10 bits (a real one could add). I upgraded windows 8.1because it was cheaper just to upgrade to the windows. I'm running with two hard drives, SSD (the drive in question) in which I try my best to let him stay for OS and drivers only. I also have a toshiba 1 TB HARD drive for storing everything else (programs, files, ect.). I'm running on an AMD 7870IK a10 and 8 GB of DDR3 ram.

  Nothing is overheating and windows should be fine. If anyone has a suggestion or has experience with a problem like this. Can you please let me know as soon as possible so that I can begin to really enjoy this brand new computer.

  I'm sorry for the lack of my resolution, I solved not so long ago and I forgot about this post. In any case, I found that it was a mixture of a lot of problems. The first problem is that the windows 10 build that I had at the time (and even if I'm not mistaken) has a problem with the SATA controller drivers. Which would make sense that this problem occurred when any process was done on the SSD. Another thing that made my problem AMD display drivers. I have no idea why it was a problem, but the previous version of the current version fixed this issue. And finally, there are all sorts of drivers for the motherboard which were obsolete aparently that windows is not grateful. I used the driver toolkit to install everything that I needed.

  Again, I apologize for not posting earlier, but I hope this helps other peoples situations.

  I have looked EVERYWHERE online and on the forum and have seen several posts on this topic and still not found a solution that works.  I have a Dell Inspiron 620

  Recently, I buy a Powercolor Radeon 7750 graphics card I have installed the drivers, uninstalled the current Intel Graphics driver from Device Manager and then install the new card.  I of course unplugged the PSU got rid of and left in power has failed to myself and plugged into the PCI-E.  After I tired to turn on but it does not start.  Fans begin to turn, including on the graphics card, but nothing comes up on the monitor and it won't start.  When I unplugged the 7750 card it starts very well?

  At first I thought that it was not powered ridiculously horrible 300w PSU they put so that I have upgraded to an a 450w.  Everything works with the new power supply installed without the card, but as soon as I plug the new map, he continues to not start as before installing the card.  I have searched and tried things for 2 days now and CAN NOT find a solution.  I know that the 620 does not access the menu of the BIOS under settings in advance who does not help (don't know why Dell would never think it was a good idea!) so I can't change anything in there.

  Please, any help would be fantastic!

  The card is a bad card.  There should be ZERO problems with the supply of the stock 305 w and a 7750.
