You could install USB 3.0 PCI Express card:

I get a new hp all-in-one. After that creation of the recovery set I intend to upgrade the standard Pro 8 to 8.

I'll be able to create a new set of disc or usb?

    Larry

    Hi Larry,

The utility provided with the PC (Recovery Manager) you will only create 1 set of recovery media and it will be for the original version of Windows as the computer came with - see the HP document on this link in this regard.

Creating recovery media - Windows 8.

An option you might consider after the upgrade to Windows 8 Pro would be to create a System Image - if you ever need to reinstall Windows, using this image will return your machine to the exact state, it's when the image has been created - see the guide on the following link for os details this procedure.

    Imaging System - Windows 8.

  • Win 7: can I start Win 7 from USB after having upgraded to Win 8?

    Hello

I am currently facing up my Win 7 OS using a USB hard drive.

Say if I upgrade Win 7 to win 8 to my main OS C drive, can I have a dual operating system by choosing to start sometimes since my last Win 7 on the USB drive?

    Thank you

    Low

Unfortunately, no, you can do that. Windows 7 must be installed on a device of storage attached internally.

You could do a dual boot:

  • USB issues after upgrade to 12.0.1 12.1.0?

I use a scanner to use high range I always use in my virtual machine (because there can be no linux drivers). Its a Fujitsu ix500. The host is ubuntu x 64 14.04 LTS. The guest is Windows 10 x 64. I ran this configuration for some time and have had no problem (since vmware workstation v.9). Recently I have upgraded from VMWare workstation to VMWare workstation 12.1.0 and scanner 12.0.1 enough work. The material of the scanner works fine, but when the scanner finishes analysis and attempts to send the data through the USB software Fujitsu software will just stay there and to block/spin forever. As a first step to be honest, that I don't blame it on vmware.

    I tried following things:

1 reinstall the software of fujitusu

    2. create the new virtual machine and install fujitsu from scratch.

    3. has tried a new USB cable and plugged into another USB port

These things has not fixed the problem. I installed 10 windows and the host and, of course, everything started working. Then I reinstalled ubuntu. I finally found a way to make it work. Replace the 3 USB USB 2.0 USB controller compatibility. I obviously don't want to keep like that since I use some USB 3 devices.  I hope that this problem is fixed in the next release, but until then what else can I do otherwise than lower compatibility USB?

    Hello

Some problems with USB have been reported on the latest versions of the workstation and of the merger.

    See for example here: https://communities.vmware.com/thread/527472?start=0&tstart=0

What I've seen so far is the recommendation to downgrade to the previous version (12.0.1) If you happen to come across this problem.

Of course, also has its down sides because none of the issues resolved in 12.1 will be in this version.

  • Windows 7 Retail Upgrade DVD ISO on USB or Windows 7 OEM already on USB?

    Hi all:

I just ordered one of the new generation 5 PCs NUC and up to 10 Windows comes out I would install Windows 7 HP of a retail upgrade DVD.  I have also put already HP Vista retail DVD on a bootable USB to install the first so that the upgrade will be legal.  My question is, I could use a copy of Windows 7 OEM HP already used on another PC on a USB stick and install as an upgrade to the HP Vista installed first from an another USB using the upgrade button to authenticate the OEM version?  Phew!  It was a matter of time.   It would be much easier because Windows 7 OEM on the USB key contains all the latest updates/service packs, and I wouldn't have to do a new USB boot Windows 7.

Another possible problem is that new PC NUC material can cause the initial Vista HP installation to fail?  Vista is NOT listed as an operating system supported for the 5th generation NUC PC but I hope it will at least install and work long enough to then use the Windows 7 upgrade version.   Failure... it would be legal to use the double "clean install" of Windows 7 method and then explain that I have the retail version of Vista that wouldn't install to allow legal usage of Windows 7 Upgrade version?

You will not be prompted for a product key until Setup is almost complete. The product key will be recognized.

If your Windows 10 is recently upgraded to WIndows 7/8? If Yes, then you must completely Workstation to uninstall and reinstall the workstation. We have seen USB problems after upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. And a complete uninstall/reinstall should solve the problem. Please let me know if it works for you. Thank you!

  • Z400: Z400 spare parts upgrades

    Hi all

I have a Z400 (saved to unset however) which works very well... Installed Win10 and voila! New PC.

Thanks to the Info confirmed here, I Rev. 1 with 6 RAM slots

    Current config

Xeon W3505 (Dual Core, not even Hyper Threading)

    12 GB 1333 Mhz RAM (2 gb x 6) clocked at 1 066 Mhz. thanks for CPU

    2 x Quadro FX580 cards

    LSI SAS3041E PCI-e Raid card

SAS drives of 3 x 300 GB connected to the card from LSI

    PCI-e NETWORK card

    475w PSU

SAS hard drives are noisy and slow (at 15 k RPM?)... First thing I did was to buy a Samsung 500 GB SSD Evo 850 (first day on Amazon with a $30 discount!) I checked and with the new BiOS installed (3.60) I confirmed that I have AHCI support so I hope the new SSD will bring me a big change even if only executed at sata2 instead of speed sata3... When the player is here I intend to remove the card raid and sas drives and install an extra sata 2 TB for storing drive instead... Also to get a pci-e sata3 card. Don't you think that it is worth more just go straight to the motherboard? I also read that start from a pci-e card slows down startup vs runnig just drive directly on the port sata motherboard, although running speed is slower. What you think. ?

Next thing I look at is the processor. Thought of the w3680 or w3690... According to the price to get the ram at 1333 Mhz.

Any other suggestions of CPU? Maybe the other supported that are not specified in the quick form.

the current cpu cooler is rated for cpu 130w, so I think I should be fine... .unless you have a suggestion for a better option.

I'm worried about the cpu power draw. Although I will eliminate 3 forts and power.hungry sas drives, I wonder if the current power supply will be sufficient for this and, possibly, a new graphics card. Maybe the new RX480 from AMD?  What do you think of it.

    ?.

Your W3505 is already a 130W processor, so you have the fan Performance.  Moving around with either the W3680 (Search eBay for SLBV2 and you'll find some now to 93,50 dollars).  Or, if you want to spend 3.33 to 3.46 GHz speed spend the extra and get the W3690 for about 145.00 off eBay.  It's a psychological thing... you will not be able to make a difference in the real world, and all of the other major features are identical.

The ultimate would be X 5690, which has a code unique sSpec SLBVX and used eBay now goes for about USD 245.00.  I got mine recently carefully shopping for 220,00, but revision 1 Z400 cost me only 100,00 more shipping charges.  I needed to do this test...

I posted here about adding a map USB3.0 HP Texas Instruments... Make sure that it fits in a slot PCIe Gen II so the speed of the bus he let USB3.0 speed max.  My post has information on 5.25 HP 3.5 adapter that will allow you to place my interface front of Akasa preferred in this and below mount your optical drive in the Bay of spare up there.  I have included in on the device of 4-wire Molex brand OK to SATA power adapter I get Mouser.com to adapt perfectly to this card.  You end up with 4 slots USB3, 2 front back/2.

You have the SSD... Gen II Gen III vs is not really a problem... take to plug that directly into the SATA port 0 of the motherboard.  Empty all SAS.

I posted here on how to remove your spectacular startup time... reading about it.  The forum search box above to find these things.

I added fan Northbridge 40x40x20mm, HP 4-wire version, a card mother xw6600.  Mine is screwed to the top the normal silver Northbridge heatsink fins, and there are several ways to reach that.  The fan blows away from the motherboard drawing cooler air through the radiator at the bottom.  The same fan is used on the Z600 Northbridge.  There is a standard white PWM header of motherboard close to spare, and I added a 4-wire Noctua online LNA that he abandoned his speed (which I do for fans of HP Northbridge).  Which adds to the overall length and connect the fan reach the motherboard header.  The RPM speeds now appear in the temp/RPM section of the Z400 BIOS as a memory cooling fan.  So, the original header seems to have been designed for a cooler of memory, but it is perfect for the Northbridge cooling.  One of these 2 processors speeds would stimulate the heat on the Northbridge and it was my solution (but probably is not really necessary).  I don't know if HP has never made a similar for some high-end Z400s, but seeing things fan used on the xw6600 and Z600 inspired me to add that, for this Z400.  You can get the fans with the correct HP wiring looking on eBay and China where they were all made.  It is precisely the Delta EFB0412HD-7R49 and this amendment at the end refers to the controlled PWM HP 4-wire version.

You want all locations of memory 6 filled by identical 2 or 4 sticks GB, with speeds of memory at 1333 to get the best out of engineering memory HP and the fact that they will be able to run at this speed with these processors.

The 6 HP PCIe supplementary power wire cable provides much more energy than the standard ATX 75W max... I do not a problem here for your video card needs, within reasonable limits.  Your use of the net power will be down and not upward, probably.

  • Qosmio F60 - conversion USB 2.0 to USB 3.0

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Qosmio F60 (PQF65A-032002) and want to convert shaped USB 2 USB 3. I think there may be a card that does this, if so like advice on what type and will it or otherwise could I actually update internally.

Any comments would be appreciated, of course, I'm not very savy with computers.

    Concerning
    Tom

You can not convert the USB 2.0 standard to the USB 3.0 standard since each USB standard supports the technology and a different chip.

But if you want to use the USB 3.0 standard, you can use some extra upgrade kit.
Such as FreeAgent GoFlex USB 3.0 Upgrade Kit from Seagate but these updates requires the support of ExpressCard slot.

This slot ExpressCard isn t available and supported by all laptops.

  • File USB supports for disappointment 19BL502B TV

    Hello

After reviewing various brands and models of 19-inch TVs, I decided on the Toshiba 19BL502B, after downloading the manual for http://www.toshiba-om.net online.

What particularly attracted me to it was the support of USB for movies Xvid encoded, as described in 'Appendix C: supported File Formats for USB Mode' in the manual that I downloaded from the top.

So, I bought one, paid in cash, but when I try to run files xvid, TV does not have this format.
Research in the paper manual that I got with the TV, Xvid files are not mentioned at all in Appendix C.

Convert these files in mpeg2 standard comes with a heavy fall in quality and even when converted to Vob format, the image is ok, but there is no sound.

I tried to take it back to the shop but they say there is nothing wrong with television, as it does what it says in the manual.

So what's happening? Why my new TV from Toshiba UK does not supports xvid, even if the online manual says it does, and I know that make televisions more expensive and larger Toshiba?

Can I get an upgrade of the software that supports xvid as advertised?
My software version is 0.6.6 V and when I do an update he claims it's the lates version.

So is there an earlier version of the software which, is there a place I can download it, put it on a USB key and upgrade to get what I consider all of the announced features?

I am very, very disappointed, because it was really the main reason that I bought the machine, so I didn't have to reconvert and DVDs to read.

    Disappointed Frank.

    Hello

File formats supported for USB mode are listed in appendix c.
And the video Format Xvid is supported for files with the file extension. AVI
So if your movies are encoded in the format xvid video, you must use the .avi file extension.

  • Self Extracting BIOS upgrade fails

I have a Pavilion 15-n096ea with the original BIOS.  I think that sp64555 is the upgrade of the BIOS for this.

The downloaded file works on Windows and can either upgrade the BIOS, create a bootable USB drive that upgrades the BIOS or just put the BIOS firmware on disk for future use.

I went for the second option because I can't use the first because I am not running Windows on my laptop.

My problem is that if I create the USB bootable on another laptop (not HP) which is running Windows 8.1, sp64555 seems well and told me that the USB was created and to insert it in the correct computer and restart.

However, when inserting it into my house, I tells me that the USB drive is not bootable.  I tried this with 3 different stick, which one had a top first bootable filesystem I tested to work.  That, to me, shows that the Pavilion and the USB key work properly, but the image created by the download may not correctly create the USB.  I tried to create the USB for Windows XP also, but the software has not found the USB key.

    I'm doing something wrong?

Just for the closure.  I ended up saving all of my work on an extrnal-hard disk before you reinstall Windows 8 on the laptop in order to apply the upgrade of the BIOS.  Which had been applied once, I reinstalled Linux on the laptop and restored the files.

Work a day of total to see that upgrading the BIOS does not resolve the problem, I had in the first place!

As the upgrade procedure. I noticed that with Windows installed, gave me the option of updating the BIOS from the menu of boot UEFI (ESC key at startup).  I think there's some added additional UEFI software when it is reinstalled Windows on the laptop which is used to upgrade the BIOS.  There is also choice was diagnosed with additional system in the menu too.  When I installed Linux, I chose to delete the Windows UEFI system partition and in the process lost the BIOS upgrader and diagnostic tools.

  • LJ P1102w: HP LJ P1102w installs on the new PC, W10 but still OK on old PC just upgraded to w10!

Buy new PC with pre-installed W10 - refuses to load the drivers - seems to do but message "driver not available" in the settings. Now I took my old PCto W7 that the printer has been connected by USB cable, and upgraded to W10, it connects back to the printer that works fine! Driver concerned is the NPI0D526B. I intend to transfer files and settings from old PC again and mothball the old but without the printer what do I do? Took the floor to support HP in the United Kingdom but unable to help - they describe this printer as "legacy" material even if it is still widely on sale, announced as W10 compliant. My Dell color laser printer installed on both machines W10 on plug & play base.

OK, download the driver and took a few pictures along the way screen.  Let's try the following: first remove the remnants of the plant. Unplug the USB cable from the PC. At this point I suggest you to restart the computer for good measure.  If there are pending updates to install, select "update and restart", otherwise just "Restart."

After restart go devices and printers folder, right-click on the P1100 series (or whatever it's called) and remove the unit.  Then, run the installer - I suggest a right-click on the file and select 'run as administrator '.  This will bring up a video.  Click on the tab "install the printer software.

This will bring up an option to install easy or Advanced Install - Let's choose advanced so that we can have control what happens.

Click Next, accept, next, next, next.  It should appear a box selection of this model of printer you have.  Then select the correct model (series P1100W).  At this point, it should give an option of how you want the printer to connect.  Select USB.

After selecting "Set up in a way to print using USB", click Next.  At this point the guest should come and ask to connect to the printer by USB.

There should be another box indicating that the installer is waiting for the connection.

Connect the USB cable and installation should be completed.  (I don't have a Laserjet P1100 plug so I don't have screenshots apart from that).

If something doesn't work not on the path please reply with details where things are distinguished by the screenshots shown.
