  As you said, EXE is created by you and its nning ruou fine on the PC where you created such as LabVIEW is present there.

  So for LV CE, please create an installer and Add Installer/additional software required by your EXE.

  I have a usb data acquisition module, it is USB 2408-2AO of MC. I order the module with a VI and it works very well. I used the Application Builder to create an exe of the VI. The exe works great too, but only on my own computer and not on other computers.

  I already made the other screws's exe files and never had any problems to run the exe on other machines. I also tried to do an installation of the VI program and not just a stand-alone application, but once again the final application does not work. The application runs without problem on the target computer, no errors are displayed, but it just does not control the USB module as it should. I think the problem is that the builder Application does not include al screws required in the installation program, particularly MC devices to control the USB device. I tried to manually choose the screws, but it seems that everything is included... I am sure that the problem is the USB device, as I did other exe files and they all work very well (but they do not control the USB device) on other machines.   Please quote your exact error message. More than likely McAfee removed the infectious file but not the entrance to the load for her. If it's a .dll (library file) file, then your error message would be something along the lines of rundll32.exe (a legitimate file in the C:\Windows\System32 folder) being unable to load the file xyz.dll (xzy is a random name). Once you know what is this name at random, you can use a tool like autoruns from the link below to remove the entry.

In the event log, it says error in manifest or policy file as a component version required by the application in conflict with one another component version already active. The two components are: c: Program Files\Viewer\Microsoft.VC80.CRT.MANIFEST.

  Problems arise when I deleted some files (don't remember which) I am now myself for kicks. Then I completely restored my system with a restore cd, upgrading to vista, downloaded all the updates and everything else works fine only problem is the opening of .exe files. Can someone please help? I'm no computer wiz only right following the indications :)

  Follow these methods and see if the problem still occurs.

  Method 1:

   

  Scan an System File Checker (SFC) on your computer and see if that fixes the problem.

  Test the issue in a clean boot State.

  All .exe files are listed as type secfile on my daughter, running Vista laptop.  When you try to open any executable file, an error message is received "application not found".  I found several websites with the .reg files to fix the registry.  The problem is that none of the methods to enter the registry editor I've tried have worked, because it is also an executable.  I tried to reboot in safe mode to use the system restore and that will not open either.

  Any suggestions?

  Replying to myself because I found the answer elsewhere: the association for .exe files must be "exefile".  "secfile" probably shouldn't exist, because nothing else seems to refer to it, but as I deleted the application there is probably no harm leaving.

  So, for someone else in my situation, the solution is to assign to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe exefile.

  If you do not have Open regedit, you can put this in a .reg file and double click it

  Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

  [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe]
  @= "exefile".

  Mike responded to the question but just to expand a little bit.

  As Mike said, your EXE since the beginning of film, and then all those remaining

  Just a correction to the message from Mike. -Once you create an EXE, it incorporates that
  film in the projector. You can rename the EXE file to what you want, but the
  original film is still stuck there with its original name. For example, you can link to
  This original film inside the EXE without the need to have the DCR/DIR/DXR

  Infected registry data items:

  HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\scrfile\shell\open\command\ (Default) (Broken.OpenCommand)-> Bad: (like Notepad. (Good EXE 1%): ('%1' S)-> quarantined and deleted successfully.
  HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\regfile\shell\open\command\ (Default) (Broken.OpenCommand)-> Bad: (like Notepad. (Good EXE 1%): (regedit.exe "%1")-> quarantined and deleted successfully.
  HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe\(default) (Hijacked.exeFile )-> Bad: (secfile) good: (exefile)-> quarantined and deleted successfully.

  Once everything has been cleaned, you should be good to use your laptop again.
