McAfee subscription

I have macafee antivirus protection that came with my laptop. The subscription must be over now because I bought this laptop about 2 and 1/2 years ago. In December 2012.  Today my antivirus protection shows that I have another 600 days of protection. But 2 days ago, I received an email from macafee that my subscription has ended.

I don't understand. How that could happen.

What worries me is that someone hacked my phone?. and change it to show that my protégé who im not? so, they can remotely control my laptop?

And another problem my macafee account shows that I bought a subscription 2013 also which I did not. How could it happen?

Please it makes me someone has hacked into my turn? should I worry?

Yes, safe to uninstall. Just make sure you have some antiviral software running. Windows Defender comes with Win 10 and is free.  There are also other free and paid applications.

Go to the McAfee website and find their removal tool. Use that to uninstall McAfee completely there is no debris.

    Hello Rahul,

Your title above shows that you want to renew a subscription, but your post shows that you just want to enable a subscription registered. If you have already registered and received confirmation by McAfee, contact them and ask how to activate it. Make sure you have your product key and account available.

  • Satellite L450D-11V - not less then equal IQRL on the installation of McAfee

Bought new by Satellite L450D-11v and after the first 30 days expired McAfee have tried to add this new laptop on my McAfee subscription existing that the extra cost is much more reasonable than another stand-alone subscription just to the new laptop. I already did this same exact process with a netbook Toshiba (XP) and laptop (Vista) with no difficulty.

However, when you try to download the new license on the McAfee site, I get a blue screen installation with 'not less equal iqrl. There other details too but the screen flashes very quickly and beyond.

Have requested assistance from McAfee, including uses of their removal tool to remove the trial version before you download the full license over several sessions of remote access with McAfee technicians taking control of the laptop, but all ended with the same result. McAfee now seem to be perplexed.

I did a couple of full HARD drive recovery to start but always end upward with the same problem.

The laptop is fresh out of the box - no software or additional hardware.

Googling this type of error, the view seems to be that it is normally associated pilot but the laptop is all of 5 weeks?

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Thank you. Andy

    Hello Andy

At first, I have to say that I did not like McAffe and first thing I've done is to remove the system.
I just want to post my opinion on this.

Toshiba offers McAffe with original images of recovery as a trial version. Each of us can do what to make the decision. Some people there out of the system, and some of them may buy a valid license and continue using the preinstalled version.
I can't imagine Toshiba will propose something that does not work and I am sure that this registration procedure is tested by McAffe and Toshiba. McAffe is unable to offer something that will not work properly and Toshiba will also offer good additional software. There must be a lot between the two companies.

My personal opinion is that there must be a problem with this add on my existing McAfee subscription. I have my 100% sure that everything will be OK if you do regular registration and pay for the new and valid license. I'm also sure that Toshiba is following exact this opportunity and offer this software in a collision with McAffe to conquer new customers 100%.

My personal opinion is that this issue needs to be clarified with McAffe. What do we do Toshiba is to preinstall trial and built in recovery image.

  • Microsoft Security Essential and McAfee

I recently installed MSE while my McAfee subscription is still ongoing. Now, my computer is loading very slowly, my Web pages take forever to load, MSE and my computer displays a black screen for nearly 2 minutes ahead before it begins in place.  Oh, and it has been freezing.  Can these be the result by running both at the same time?

You should never have 2 AVs installled at the same time.

More than one AV installed cause slow, system hangs, etc..

    Uninstall McAfee or MSE.

  • Remove a new machine of McAfee

While waiting for my new Dell Inspiron 7000, which, unfortunately, comes with McAfee AV.  Been a loyal user of Norton for many years, so the first thing to do is uninstall McAtee and install Norton.

Are there "traps" on the uninstall of McAfee, because it is built into the embedded system? Or is it just 'control panel/programs/uninstall' or whatever the equivalent of Win7 in WIn8.1?

    Thank you.

BTW, I asked this question of the Dell chat while I configure my system for purchase and they offered a link to a McAffee site that was supposed to explain the deletion, but the link was dead.

    Hi alocksley:

When I finally found myself in a similar situation, I made sure that I didn't activate or register the McAfee that came pre-installed on my system.
-J' downloaded my favorite AV on my desk.
-J' uninstalled McAfee via Control Panel.
-J' have downloaded and run the uninstall tool from McAfee (Development) from their Web site, according to his instructions:
    service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx; LC = 1033 & pf = 1
This tool cleans up the remains. I note that the instructions say now you expected to activate your McAfee subscription before uninstalling, if they came pre-installed. I would follow these last instructions, as it has been a few years that I have addressed this issue.
    -J' installed my favorite AV.

    Good luck!

  • Warnings from Windows 8 Action Center that McAfee and the Defender is not activated after Windows update.

In December 2012 after installation of the updates of Microsoft Windows on my machine Windows 8 and rebooting, my icon downtown Action system gave 3 warning messages:

The spyware, antivirus and Firewall wasn't turned on do not.

When I was in the center of the Action, he said time Windows Defender and McAfee have been disabled.

I ran Mcafee checks as well as the defender and it states that my machine is virus-free.

I clicked on Mcafee and it said all were lit.

I called Mcafee technical support and they did something in December 2012 and has solved the problem and none of the messages is new. They do not just turn off messages in December 2012, they did something, but wouldn't discuss what has been done with me.

However, today, Jan 8/13, another set of Windows updates have been installed by Microsoft and yet once again, the WARNING messages 3 came.

I called McAfee support again and said that I didn't call each month when I install the updates of Windows to solve the problem and that there is a bug with Windows 8 and McAfee.

I looked at the tech of McAfee as he did helpline (I work in technical support as well) and what he did this time was to turn off Action Center messages, thinking that I DINA realize that it was not really solved the problem.

I told him, I understand that it seems that McAfee is not working properly, but I will not renew my McAfee Dell subscription this March/13 because that doesn't solve anything... it's just disable the warning messages. (I showed her that if I turn on the message, the warnings were still there... apparently he was shocked that I knew what I was doing).

He said that McAfee is a problem with Windows 8 and McAfee and are working on a fix.

The tech told me to get in touch with Dell and they would provide a fix.

This problem does not occur with my Alienware Windows 7 pc and installation of Windows 8 I received is on my other pc from Dell.

Is someone can you please tell me if there is a fix for this?

I will not renew my McAfee subscription if it comes to the type of service that will be provided; I'll go with another antivirus program.

    Thank you

  • {A} Dell XPS 15 L502x McAfee SecurityCenter activation problem

As shown in the topic I have XPS L502x. This morning, I restored my phone to factory settings due to some very strange behaviour of my machine. Restore was successful no problem at all. After that restoration was complete I connected my computer to the internet and at the same time the product activation window McAfee SecurityCenter pop up.

Now, the problem is that it was al most 02:33 hours, that McAfee still connect to MaCafee.com. Even now, while I write this problem he still connects.

Before this last test, I restarted my computer several times out of desperation that can be restart will fix it. But I think I'm out of luck. Something else that my internet is running @100 % navigation, streaming and downloading are very well at max speed.

Please someone help me in this case.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Kind regards.

    Hi abidshahzad,

I replied to your other thread 2 days ago, but you don't have to answer.

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/virus-spyware/f/3522/t/19454708.aspx

What kind of "odd behaviour" has been exposing your system that made you decide to restore?

How long lasts your McAfee subscription, and when she did start?

Before restoring the factory settings, your McAfee product had been registered and activated with success?

If so, connect to your McAfee account on the link below using the email address and the password that you used initially when the first record.

Click the Subscription & Product tab, you see your subscription listed McAfee?

  • McAfee will not register

    Hello

I have brand new inspiron 1520 that comes with the usual free 30 days of McAfee subscription.  I tried to register an account (with McAfee) to allow for updates, but once I filled out the registration form and submitted it I just get a white pop window and nothing happens.  I tried to register directly on the McAfee site, but just my account says I have no registered product.

Does anyone know a way around this?

    Thank you

  • Fusion and Mcafee Virus Scan

I already have the Mcafee Virus scan installed with its annual subscription. So, what version of 2.0.3 for download?

Installation of the merger removes my Mcafee antivirus?

Installation of the Fusion + Mcafee replace my existing Mcafee subscription?

Some indications on the download page would be nice.

It does not matter. The difference between the two downloads is that you include McAfee Installer - there is no impact on an existing installation in the prompt, which is what it looks like you have. Woody was the point that if you need never program installation again later (which you normally do not have), you will need to get it or have saved a copy.
