MD3220i + 5524 switches

Hi, I intend to use a pair of switches 5524 PC to connect (iSCSI network) a SAN MD3220i and two R2 2012 Windows servers.

Is this a supported configuration? Are my adapted 5524 for iSCSI traffic together with an MD?

Thank you.

Yes, this is a supported configuration. Make sure you do not connect two switches. If the switches are used only for iscsi use these config so

  • Linking to 5524 battery battery N2024

Dell Powerconnect 5524 can be stacked by HDMI and the newer N2024 models can be stacked by dell's exclusive stacking ports. Is it possible to connect these two fireplaces? You can connect through FPS? You can connect them through an OFFSET? What is the best process here?

The 55xx and the N2xxx can be stacked together, except that you can treat both batteries similar to as if they were just a simple switch. Stacking basically makes only one switch, so you'd plug it comes in the same ways that you would connect a single 55xx with a single N2xxx.  If you use a LAG, however, should be split across several members of the battery cable connections.  Thus, for example, if you have a stack with three members and you have a LAG with two cables, use a port to two permanent members so that your GAL covers at least two members.  For the two chimneys creates a network more resistant, so if a member falls down the link will stay up.  In other words, if you use two ports on the same Member of the stack and Member goes down, then you have lost the connection, so it is best to divide the LAG on several members of the battery.

    I hope this helps.

I'm not aware so as to lock the access to these directories. Have you tried to disable HTTP and HTTPS enabling? Then, run the same scan and see if the result is the same.

You could try a firmware update. There are a few security enhancements in the latest firmware.

In safe mode the PVID is 1 VLAN by default. You can do this by entering the command #switchport trunk vlan native {number of vlan}. If Cisco is configured to accept and send the marked packets and has an IP address in the subnet of VLAN 20, it should be able to communicate with other devices in VLAN 20.

  • MD3220i meet incl. servers. Hyper-V system

I am trying to connect to a San:

    • Two Dell Powervault MD3220i drive bays
    • Two gigabit ethernet Cisco switches
    • Three (will be 5 in a few months) PowerEdge R710 Hyper - V hosts Win2012R2

I am aware of technical guides, deployment guides, etc. But all I can find is an address for the drive bays scheme. I searched these forums for questions simular, but mostly they are on the configuration of the controllers and the iscsi ports, but not on servers.

I connected the disk controllers array with the management by Bay (1 per controller) ports to the LAN switch (vlan management). The eight by Bay (4 per controller) iscsi ports are connected to the dedicated SAN switches. Half the first SAN-switch ports. Other ports to the second SAN-switch.

But I can't get the idea on how to connect the Hyper-V hosts. The Hyper-V hosts are in this exact similar PER710 time servers 3. There will be 2 more in a few months. For this purpose, I chose for a wiring diagram with switches and not directly related to the drive bays.

My Hyper-V hosts all have two dedicated network cards (not bundled, jumbo frames, multipath) for ISCSI traffic. What will be the perfect for this configuration addressing scheme?

I read on different subnets to the iscsi disk array ports. Allows to call their subnet A, B, C, D. And there's a different subnet for the management ports, connected to the vlan management on my LAN switches. Lets call this subnet E.

In what subnet I put my Hyper-V hosts iscsi ports?

I start with 8 total cards in each server and if you can afford it, consider even 10 NICs (NETWORK ports).

    Use a configuration like this:

-2 ports in a team for the management of hosts

-2 ports in a team for VM-to-LAN traffic

-2 ports in a team to pace heart/CSV/Live Migration traffic

-4 ports non - teamed up for iSCSI with 4 unique subnets

If you limit to 8 ports on your server, you can restrict the host management to just 1 port and also limit the traffic of Migration of the heart/CSV/Live rhythm 1 port.

On an extreme budget, you can use 1 for the management of hosts and VM-to-LAN traffic and then 1 port for heart rate, but I would reduce iSCSI 2-port before making this option for only 6 ports.

When grouping, it is better to use 2 or more ports from the same provider NIC (Intel or Broadcom), even if opting for Windows native grouping.

  • Ping on MD3220i error

    Hello

I'm trying to set up a unit of SAN MD3220i.

I use IP addresses by default for each port iSCSI on controller 0 and 1 controller.

I installed my host (Hyper-V Server 2008 R2) and I use 2 network cards for SAN traffic on this host, the IP addresses that I've assigned are 192.168.130.3 (255.255.254.0) and 192.168.132.3 (255.255.254.0)

Each NETWORK adapter is connected via a separate to the San switch.

When I ping to each of the 4 SAN ip addresses, only 2 answer, these are 192.168.130.101 and 192.168.132.101.

Why the other two IPS (192.168.131.101 and 192.168.133.101) without responding to the ping request.

All on the ports of SAN subnet masks are 255.255.255.0

    Thanks for your help

    Hi Sam,

Sorry for the delay, I've tried a few things and was able to solve the problem.

The SAN comes with default subnet masks 255.255.255.0 on all iSCSI ports, but I put my NIC host having 255.255.254.0 subnet masks.

Once I changed to 255.255.254.0 SAN subnet masks I could ping all of the 4 ports on the host channel.

Thanks a lot for helping me with this problem.

  • IP MD3220i address scheme with esxi4.1

I have a Setup running for awhile. (2 R815 welcomes with 8 iscsi NIC and md3220i with two controllers) I was adding another host and a second iscsi switch which was then looking around to see if the guidelines have changed. I noticed the leaves dell mentions 4 NICS per host, which would give 2 parallel tracks for each controller.

My song has 4 different tempos. Every time that happens, occurs a humming noise. If I get all tracks FX behind it disappears. How can I keep the delay, but not the buzz?

    Thank you y´all.

Use automation for on/off switch of the delays to and after each change of tempo.

If that kills too late in the face of that time, and then introduce a Gain ahead of every delay, automate the Gain to cut admission to the delay when changing the tempo. Who will cut the whole track, however.
