• SVChost.exe cpu issue with XP Pro after removal of Trojan

  My sister recently downloaded a virus on my computer. I removed the Trojan horse and have had problems with SVChost.exe are beginning to eat time CPU. This is usually triggered when I start Firefox. It may be unrelated, but I do not. I did a uninstall/reinstall on Firefox and now it will briefly be blip in the Task Manager process tab, but it disappears almost immediately.

  I service Pack3 on my machine, so I don't think it's the SVChost service Pack3 fixed problem. I ran a repair of XP once I have nuked the Trojan horse. I ran across the virus alarm area scan, adaware, and malwarebytes to make sure that the thing had gone gone gone.

  I did some research, and I don't know where to go next. I think it's a registry issue maybe, or a svchost corrupt, but since I have service pack 3, I don't know if there is something else I can do, especially since the question seems to start when I start Firefox. Don't use not Firefox may be an answer, but I really want to make sure that the problem is resolved so that my computer is not get no more corrupt than it already is.

  I saw in my research programs will supposedly fix your registry database, but they seem to be more malicious sites, so I am wary of downloading something that is not specifically to Microsoft. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I might want to do next? Everything I've read seems to indicate the problem but not the solution. Thank you for taking the time to watch it!

  I think that I fixed it. I have re-ran all my antivirus programs and I did forget to empty my cache and temporary files. I clear up the registry and system files. I think that the real culprit was Zone alarm. They have this new feature, called force shield. I didn't know that there was a cache that had to be cleared out. Thus, the register needed to be cleared up, but the problem of Firefox was my firewall program. My machine worked fine for the last half hour with no slow worms down or my sessions of cpu overloaded. I run a defrag during the night to make sure. But it seems that everything is copacetic. Thank you so much both to look at this for me. I have not had a virus in 10 years and I forgot what I didn't.

  We had a problem when we were in by vCO's 8-processor server deployment.  On the reconfig according to the clone, threw the workflow and the error message that the CPU must be 1,2,4 or null.  Action I noticed by looking at the getConfigSpec was coded for the following:

  If (numCPUs! = null & & (numCPUs! = 1 & & numCPUs! = 2 & & numCPUs! = 4)) throw "numCPUs must be 1, 2 or 4 (or null)"; throw "numCPUs must be 1, 2 or 4 (or null)";

  Is there a reason that the numCPUs cannot be 8 and every reason why this action should not be copied and recoded to add "& & numCPUs! = 8 » ?

  This action seems to need an update.

  An immediate solution for you will be to replicate this action and modify it to take in charge the number of processors that you want to deploy with, not to mention that count MAX CPU must not exceed the max that supports your version of vSphere. Once the action has been duplicated and edited, you must then change the workflow (s) which calls for the version of the library and edit them to call your modified version.

• VM CPU issue of license after the passage of eval in licensing essentials

  I'm new at all of this bear so please with me.  I downloaded evaluation for vSphere with the intention to purchase all vShpere 4 if things work as expected.  I have a Dell Poweredge with 2 quad core CPU.  As the Essentials bundle stipulates that each host can have "up to two physical CPUs up to 6 cores per processor" I thought my 2 physical CPUs 4 cores per processor would work fine.  He did this until I bought and applied the license.

  Now, I can not start the virtual machine.  I get an error: ' virtual machine has 8 processors of vitual, but the host supports only 4.  The number of virtual processors can be limited by the selected guest OS for the virtual machine or the granting of licenses for the host".

  The host configuration-hardware-processors shows 2 sockets 4 processor cores per socket and 8 logical processors.

  The characteristics of congiguration-software-license host shows my Essentials license for 2 physical processors (1-6 cores per processor).

  When I look at the tab of the allocation of resources to the virtual machine it shows a single CPU (is that what it shows always?) and when I use 'edit' to bring up the properties of the Virtual Machine of the CPU dialog box shows 8 virtual processors.

  I'm stuck and need help!  Can someone tell me what I did wrong?

  assessment will give you what is equivalent to the company more licenses, allowing up to 8vCPU per guest.  When you license your instance for the most part, the max vCPU is 4.  Find the virtual machine which held 8 and change to something supported.  I suggest you vCPU maybe 2 1.

  Problem of mit er at det program som jeg bruger nu tager CA. 50 sek. to the starte, og da jeg det fra den gamle TS ens den kun ca korte. 9 sek. Selve applications ligger stadigvaek pa den samme fyskiske Server som det hele tiden har gjort det better der sker pa TS zij er at den abner en .exe wire through and netvaerks share.

• Multi Slide Slider control is sucking cycles cpu

  This is a control (see attachment) it is simply in the presence on a façade sucks 25% cpu on my machine.  She seems to be the 3 slider slide that is causing the problem.  I find that I can replace the control (it starts as a Horizontal Point silver slide) and he moved up to the next time that the vi is still loaded into memory.  Anyone seen this before? FYI - I created this control so that it appears as a data type of cluster with 3 digits, the first being the visible cursor, which is the present value, the second digital being the lower limit and the third being digital upper limit.

  Found a solution!  The problem was caused by coloring the first two transparent cursors.  If I customize the cursor and move the first two sliders upward and out of Visual range it seems to calm down the cpu issue completely.

  I have a HPE - 570T. Recently I have upgreaded video card a Radeon HD5450 for a GTX460 nVidia and also bought a 650 watt power supply. I did the benchmarks with the passmark software before and after. Why was my benchmark CPU 8100 before the upgrade and 7400 after the upgrade? Video card has been much faster from about 320 to 2300 for 3D applications well.

  I didn't notice that a CPU issue when I installed my GTX 460 1 GB. I'm also using the Passmark Performance (64-bit) version 1019 software.  I have two marks with the same GTX 460 1 GB differnet. A reference point was about 7% more fast (Passmark rating) than the other criterion of reference.  I did RMA the first card to the manufacturer, which explains the two different references. 3D performance was the also the big change for me.  I have improved since the video drivers then perhaps it's time for an another landmark.

• CPU pegged at 100% in the guest operating system

  New to this forum, so I hope I'm posting in the right place. Note that I'm not our VMware admin, but rather, I have a server I have to admin that has been converted to VM via the P V. apparently process, our group has converted nearly 50 PMs successfully and of course one of mine is the only one who has a problem now. We have a custom application that has been developed to synchronize data between ESRI GIS and databases SAP. The code is about 7 years old and runs on a version of Oracle (9.2) and is Java based, both on the same vintage. It is not possible to upgrade by the creator going out of business and not having is not the source code. I ask this to understand that the problem is probably with the programming, but thought it was worth it.

  Anyway, one of our guard batch process fail with a Java out of memory error on the virtual machine. It works well on the PM. A consultant ran the diagnosis with a Profiler memory on the virtual machine and concluded that the program never went beyond 256 MB and we have 1 GB allocated to the guest. We now consider the CPU issues. The only other thing we know is different is a matter of hyperthreading (HT). The PM is certainly HT'd (1 physical CPU showing that 2) and it does not appear that this setting met on the virtual machine. When you run the package on the PM, we see 2 CPUs in the Task Manager, and neither hits 100% for more than a few seconds for the whole process. On the virtual machine, we see a flatlined CPU and it is 100% most of the time until it fails about 15 min in.

  The sysinfo on the virtual machine shows a 2400 MHz CPU, while the PM shows (2) 3400 MHz CPU (due to HT). I checked all my other virtual machines, and they are all 'show' 2400 MHz, so this must be a virtual standard machine type? I think that the virtual computer guest has access to the CPU ramp according to the needs, but then I'm not clear why the task manager would show that he attached the entire lot? It is likely that task manager prompt indicates whether flatlined to 100% of a 2400 Mhz CPU, even if she isn't really the most? If this is really the most, our admin should not be able to increase the dedicated CPU (I looked at the console with him and did not see an obvious option for this)? Is it possible to enable hyperthreading on the * comments * OS to mimic what has had on the PM? We cannot add another CPU to the guest due to licensing issues. Oh yes, the guest operating system is windows server 2003 and VMware ESXI 4.1 server. Thank you very much!

  The speed of the CPU that you see is the speed of the physical processor in ESXi hosts. You cannot increase this speed, however - licensing - usually, you can assign two vCPUs, virtual machine as a dual CPU core instead of 2 processors. This option has been added to ESXi 4.1.   What you need to do is to set the number of processors to 2 and add the advanced parameter cpuid.coresPerSocket = 2.

• State C with R610 and R710 issues have been corrected?

  Earlier when we bought a few PE R710s we had problems with memory errors that were caused by the C States being enabled in the BIOS. Dell support has recommended that we have disabled all States of C and that solved the problem. It returned to the 2.x version of the BIOS. These problems have been resolved in the last 6.1.0 versions?

  Unfortunately no, once Intel offers firmware update for this problem we will put it with our next version of BIOS. We may disclose even a no scheduled update to implement the new firmware once we receive it.

  We currently have no ETA on when it will be released. I apologize for the inconvenience.

  The latest changes in firmware of the BIOS for the release that correct implemented some Turbo with the CPU issues, but our group of material climbs informed me this does not solve the problem of voltage State C which causes memory errors.
