Media Center movie library incomplete

I try to fill the library of films of the WMC with some movies from a NAS.

The problem I have is that only a few of the videos are displayed (end in .m4v). I was able to connect successfully WMC in the movie folder on other computers with no problems, so I know that the SIN is not the issue.
So far, I have:
  • Went the features installed and disabled/enabled WMC and WMP
  • Deleted/added the movie folder
Any ideas?

After the the registry fix, it seems to work very well.

Thank you!

WMC uses the same library of WMP. If you need to restore library WMP to solve the problem.

  • HP Pavilion a1520n Media Center - SQLDUMPER library not initialization.

The dialog box shows the following:

SQL Writer: SQLDUMPER library not initialization. Your installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with. Please uninstall then re-run Setup to correct this problem.

I do not understand what I have to uninstall or how.  I don't know how to re - run the program installation because after all the updates and now under SP3, I did new installation discs / backup.  I guess I could try to go back to a restore point before the SQLDUMPER failed.  IF I go back to a restore point prior to the failure, I'll be able to get all the updates of Windows from there, to this day? Is it necessary for me to do all this in order to upgrade to 8.1 Windows?  I thought that the computer had to be annihilated and completely reformatted for Windows 8.1, but how can I make sure that I have a suitable boot disk before installing Windows 8 or 8.1, and after I install it? I guess that Windows 8 upgrade disk and instructions will tell me how to make a startup disk, when it is installed.

I need to correct the SQLDUMPER library problem. I need to do whatever it takes to back up my computer and make a bootable floppy.  I need to do this so I can try to move to the 8.1 window.

I also have a problem with my DVD/CD writer LightScribe burner work. It is not always read the CD I put in it. I know that something is on the CD, but my CD/DVD cannot read it for some reason any.  I'm trying to upgrade the driver, but it still doesn't seem to work.

    Can someone help me?

    I would be really happy.

  • 'windows media center' on Vista32 and Vista64 can't see movies on 'disc of Windows 7 "

I have 2 Windows 7 machines.   We have a lot of movies (VOB files) 3 TB drive.   The other Windows 7 machine can play movies very well since Windows Media Center.  But I have 2 other machines (a Vista 32-bit and a 64-bit Vista).  The two Vista machines can see through Explorer, but in Windows Media Center movie files, nor machine can find movies when I try to add them to the library.

I use to have movies on discs smaller on Vista32 bit machine and all 4 machines could play movies very well.

Does anyone know of issues where WMC on Vista is not able to see movies on Windows 7 machines?     Thanks in advance.

  • How to enable the DVD library in WIndows 7 Media Center

How do you enable DVD library in Win 7 Media Center?  I tried editing the registry as in Vista, but it does not work with Win 7.  I am running Win 7 Pro 64-bit version.  Thank you

    Hi zt75,

Have you clicked on fix it from the link below? If this is not the case, click on fixit and check if that helps.

How can I enable the DVD library in Windows Media Center on a Windows Vista-based computer?
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/930526

(Although this article is for Windows Vista, we can always give it a shot in Windows 7.)

Or do these steps and check.

To enable the DVD library in Windows 7, follow these steps:

    1. If Windows Media Center is running, close it.
    2. click on start.
    3. in the search box, type regedit.
    4. in the list programs, click on regedit.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
    5. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Settings\Video settings

    6. in the Details pane, right-click VideoGalleryView, and then click on edit.
7 remove the content that appear in the value data box.
    8. in the value data box, type Gallery, and then click OK. Registry value data: Gallery = Activate My DVD; Play = not to activate my DVD
    9. close the registry editor.

To verify that the automatic fix worked, restart your computer. You should now see "DVD library" from the menu. To add DVDs, go to the menu information (click on 'i' on the remote control) and select "Add Movies.

    Try this also:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Start Menu

Check if it has a value of HideDVD, and if the value data is set to 1. If the data in the value of HideDVD is set to 1, then you have two options. One option would be to delete the HideDVD value. The other option would be to change the value from 1 to 0 data.
    6. close the registry editor.

  • 11 media player changes do not appear in the name of the file or media center library? UPDATED, I FOUND THE ANSWER, IT IS SIMPLE AND HAS NEVER MENTIONED TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEERS THAT IT

I ripped CD via MP11 and the Windows lossless format.  After having them, I decided to change the tags like for some of them, a right click, type, no problem.

In MP11 genre tags now show that what I changed them but when I go to the Vista Media Center music library, which is to look at the record music CDs ripped are genres appear as the original labels I came when they were torn.  When I look at the music files also have the original genre listed.

How can I get the genre has changed in the file information (I guess that Vista Media Center uses this information when it displays the kind) in Media Player?

  • Media Center: Will not add folders to the library

For about a week now through yesterday morning, I had several video files put in place in Media Center: specifically, two folders on local and network disks several (five or six) on records.

Last night, I went to the video library in Media Center, and it was completely empty. Records and all video files are always accessible through the browser and the network as needed, so I go to Media Center and re-add the same folders. Return to the video library. It is empty. I will go back to the library settings and all defined records are previously selected is no longer! So I go through and add them back. Only to make them all disappear.

I do this several times, including the second to the last test where I waited in circles and looked at the gauge progress and a total number of 300 + video files displayed. But the library is still empty and not setup all files as added!

So my last try: I remove all other music and image files and add just a video file. And still no videos!

I already rebooted once and now I am at a complete loss as to what could be the problem. The files are a mix of .avi (xvid, for the most part), .mkv and .ts who worked before this question last night.

I said that I should leave the Media Centre, stop the windows media player network service, and then remove windows media player db file. I did all this, restarted the service and then media center, added a video file and guess what? Still no file (or folder) in my Media Center video library.

    What is happening here!

    Edited to add:

Well, I did a few experiences more.

In Windows Media PLAYER, I wasn't able to add folder to library video (via organize) it is. However, I was able to add folders to the library in Windows Explorer. I could then drag and drop the Windows Explorer video library in WMP. However, none of this has changed the fact that the video library in Media Center remains empty and I can not add ALL the video files via the parameters.

In the meantime, I have two choices, I can browse my multimedia files via WMP which is not half bad but I prefer reading via Media Center. so... currently, I navigate through Explorer Windows and Media Center set as default player for all types of video file in the video library of the Explorer.

However, I would really like this work all through (some) Media Center :)

I wonder if there might be a corruption of the current library which is not resolved by simply removing the CurrentDatabase_ # .wmdb as suggested earlier.  You see the question even if you plan to display this content in Windows Media Player as well?  If so, in Windows 7, there is an option to rebuild the library.  This is done through Windows Media Player tools > advanced > restore library... menu (an open area along the top or bottom of the drive to find this right click menu).

    Thank you

    Chad

  • How can I get the Windows 7 Media Center guide to update the channel list.

I noticed that lists of TV channels in Windows 7 Media Center guide are incomplete.  Not all available channels are appearing.  They disappeared for some time.  I checked the lists online of zapsit and they contain the missing strings.  The program zap2it descriptions are more precise than what appears in the Media Center guide.

Is there any solution for this?

    Hello KINGPIN62,

    Thank you for your response.

To check, are video files in a monitored folder of Windows Media Center?

To add or remove folders to be monitored by Windows Media Center, see the following steps:

    ·         Since the Windows Media Center start screen, navigate to tasks, and then click settings.

    ·         Click configuration library > add folder to watch and then click Next.

    ·         Click one of the options under which folders you want to add, and then click Next.

    ·         Naviguer, navigate to the folders you want to add, and then select the check box next to each folder.  Click next and then click Finish.

Alternatively, you can try to perform the clean boot to verify if a background program may interfere.

To perform a clean boot, see the link below:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

You can also check if the necessary codec to play the video files is installed.

For more information about the location of the codec, please visit the link below:

In addition, you can also check with the seller or store movies downloaded for additional codec information for video files.

    Hi people,

I had Media Center works well with more than 104 GB of movies in the library.

Once this new space has been initialized, I moved all film to him records and updated the path in Media Center to 'Look' that new folder.

I deleted all the files associated with the WMP 11 app (APPDATA\Local\Microsoft\Media player to rebuild the DB but no difference.

    Holy Cow,

I just found the answer in an article at www.paraesthesia.com/archive/2008/09/12/how-to-set-up-a-dvd-library-in-windows-media.aspx

The library 'Add folder' does not work in the Menu 'Settings' of Media Center.

On the other hand, it works via a right click on the window of DVD library.

IE: when you're in the Livrary DVD, right-click and choose Add movies.

This is a bug not documented in Media Center!
