  • Windows Media Center using only not to Clear QAM channels, at least some of them.

So check it... I already updated my operating system from Windows Vista to Windows 7 as soon as it became available last year and had been using Windows Media Center on my HP m8330f to record live shows with a digital antenna.  I decided, spotty reception because, as I plug in my TV Tuner directly through my cable (without decoder) and Clear QAM channels this mode of access.  After noticing that my old TV Tuner was missing several channels (not shown 6) I chose to add missing channels, as shown in several forum posts.  I added successfully most of the available channels except the two I wanted most, NBC and ABC.  Since my TV Tuner was quite old (double ViXS ban, card simple tuner), I decided to upgrade to the Hauppauge 2250 encryption that could be a cause for the missing channels... and more, it is a ban on double, double tuner the card.  Alas, the Hauppauge worked in much the same way that its predecessor and the lack of NBC (4.1) and ABC (2.1) are not found... even after attempting to add channels.  All that is visible is a "Service is unavailable" message.

I am a customer of Time Warner Cable in New York and have had no problem accessing these (Clear QAM) channels on my' computer', the LG 32LH40 thanks its tuner internal.  Moreover, I was able to access these same channels via the same TV Tuner using WinTV v7 and Beyond TV.  This leads me to believe that the problem lies in the Windows Media Center software.

I am a big fan of Windows Media Center and love how convenient it is (apart from my current dilemma) and still want to use it as my main media look at a software but I'm torn on this issue.  I don't know if you have experienced this problem before, but I am quite stunned, especially since I feel like I've exhausted all channels (which goes as far to add the channels first as a modulation QAM 64 and 256).  Does anyone else have this problem?  Any ideas would be extremely useful.

    Thank you!

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for your help!  I thought both on the channel number, but I could not find a network ads everywhere about my service area (I had not yet known on that SiliconDust website but I just took a shot and that's exactly what I needed...) (Thank you!) ; or the information that I found were incorrect.  I ended up working all last night.

After many rescan with WinTV and Beyond TV, I could finally figure what channel were virtual and who were not and add missing channels accordingly.  Remappe MC my 104,2 at 4.2 but not my 104.1 makes my TV as well as WinTV.  Beyond TV didn't display the number of virtual channel while parsing, so I was able to get the numbers of QAM channels how.  He was just working backwards.  However, MC had yet 104.1 (my 4.1 missing such as mentioned in my previous post) in his 'detected chains"(strangely)... so I added it.

Thank you for this Web site again!

  • Satellite P100-240: Media Center Edition - error 3

I recently installed the Toshiba TV DVB, set up all channels and guides, then recorded a number of television programs.
Unfortunately, when I have pulled up my Satellite P100-240 this morning to check the last recordings of nights, the Media Center told me that I had deleted all of my recordings.

I tried to get the library going again without success.
All I get is a window telling me that there may be essential audio and video files missing and he said that I should quote "error 3" when looking for support. ".
I tried reinstalling the drivers, etc., but it just goes back to "error 3' anyone able to help?"

It is a very strange question. To be honest I really don t know what happened with you Windows Media Center software.
It s a program from Microsoft and my personal experience, sometimes inexplicable things

What you could do is trying to roll back the BONE to this early time!
Eventually a point system restore has been created and you can set the operating system on this point.

I also recommend to check your recorded programs.
Usually programs stored is located in the following folder:

    Hello DQ62SS,

This is a good article for troubleshooting Windows Media Center registration issues:
If you think that your problem is only at the wrong moment in Media Center, look at this thread that contains solutions for the same problem that you are experiencing:
  • When you use media center tv, registered and menus do not load and display regular

When I select tv... then recorded... the screen displays (loading). The load never completes and hangs the system. I have to use (esc) to exit the application

    Hello

    (1) have you installed Windows XP Media Center Edition on your computer?
    (2) what is the brand and model of the computer?

You can try the following method and check if it helps.

    Method 1:
    (a) computer and do not open any other software before you watch TV. Close software may not be sufficient in some cases.
    (b) after the opening of Media Center, wait about 10 seconds before trying to watch TV.
    (c) If you have recently installed new TV tuner hardware, make sure it is properly connected/sitting, make sure that it is compatible with the version of Media Center you are using.
    (d) reinstall the TV tuner drivers. If you have installed a tuner separately, reinstall the drivers disc that came with the tuner.
    (e) use Windows system restore to restore the system at a time where the error will not occur.

    Method 2:
    (a) turn on the Media Center computer and connect to the Internet.
    (b) click Start, all programs, and then click Windows Update.
    (c) I agree to download plug-ins from Microsoft if you are prompted.
    (d) to read and respond to information on the Web page. Carefully read the page that the information may change from time to time.

    Method 3:
    (a) the television signal must come into the computer through the coax or s-video input. Make sure that you do not connect the standard video cable (RCA style) on the audio or the video output on the graphics card. Use the standard video adapter S-video if we use a standard video cable.
    (b) connect the end of the s-video cable or coaxial cable into a TV set to see if the cable is working properly.
    (c) ensure that the TV signal settings are correct for the Media Center software.

  • Windows 7 Media Center can't find my DLNA certified DMP (an LG BD390 Blu - ray player model network).

I have a Player LG Blu - ray wireless connected to my home network.  Configuration of the network connection to the format Blu - ray says it is successful, and it is capable of downloading movies on the shared internet connection.  My management software from the network router (WRT610N model) Cisco Linksys® Network Magic Pro displays the Blu - ray player on its network card device.  LG Blu - ray player is a certified DLNA DMP (digital media player) device and the software supplied LG Nero MediaHome 4 (Server DLNA media graduate) successfully concludes the LG Blu - ray device when it starts.  So far, I've been unable to get the Windows 7 Media Center (supposed to be a media graduate DLNA server) to find my network Blu - ray player.  But the problem is more than just that the Media Center do not find my network device, even the 7 network and sharing Center window is not this network device when I select «View full map»  When I go to printers and devices on Windows 7 and select 'Add a device', it does not find my device of network Blu - ray player that passes by the Cisco Network Magic software and Nero MediaHome 4 software.  So what prevents the network of Microsoft Windows 7 software and Media Center software to my LG Blu - ray network player?

Media Center Extender technology owns and uses any DLNA.
I don't know why Umesh from Microsoft Support thought it was possible. You
will not be able to set up your Blu Ray drive as an Extender. You CAN use
Windows Media Player READ ON technology and streaming technology. You will not be
be able to use your new drive LG Blu - ray network as an extension inside the
    Media Center interface.

  • Reinstall Windows Media Center under Windows 7 Ultimate after the new hard drive, installed using Microsft Windows 7 disc

I had the misfortune I had to replace my hard drive on my Toshiba laptop after reinstalling my Windows 7 Ultimate disc, I find that I am unable

load the Windows Media Center software. When I click on the location of the file, some files are visible, but it does not load.

Can I use the disk window to replace or repair the Windows Media Center files without causing other problems?

    Don Winston Hills NSW Australia

Open your Start menu by pressing the Windows key and type FEATURES in the search box. Select 'Windows turn features on or off ". When the Panel opens, expand the category "Media Features" and place a check in the box "Windows Media Center". You may need to restart after Windows reconfigures itself.

  • Media Center Extender is not group registered in series tv episodes

When several episodes of a TV show are saved, they used to appear in collections under the title of the series.  The number of recorded episodes would be in parentheses, and the list could be either be expanded to show all or could be reduced.  It still works that way on the Media Center.

But now, on the extension, the individual episodes are only appear in a long list.  This makes the long and cluttered list, and it is more difficult to understand who is the oldest episode.

I use Windows 7 with a XBox360 as the Extender.  I have not changed, hardware, or operating systems, but the behavior of the list has changed.  I had to reload the Media Center software and redo my channels when there was a change in television service.

I solved the problem myself.  It was an obscure pilot error.  But I saw that other people have had this problem, so let me explain.

In the recorded TV section where you see your list of records, it is in fact a bit of text mode upward at the top of the screen.  One, which is quite familiar, is the ability to add a new record.  But there's something up there, at the top of the screen that I never noticed before.  There is a place to choose if you want to display by or by.<p class="reply"> <div> </div> <div>Turn, when I reloaded the software Media Center, he must have missed in <date>which caused each single record to appear separately on the list of programs.  When I changed to<title>lists seems to sink into the shorter summary that I wanted, showing a series by name and the number of episodes carefully in parentheses.
I apologize if someone has spent time trying to find a solution.  Thanks for your help.  This case is now closed.
  • Pro Media Center of Windows 8 license is not triggered. How can I make it back to Windows 8 Pro license

I received a free upgrade license for Windows 8 Pro with Media Center, at the time where they offered.

I have not noticed that the license is good if active before a date which has since long (a few times in February). The license has been accepted at the entrance and the Media Center software installed, when I went to add new features to Windows 8 (I had already updated the machine to Windows 8 Pro.

In fact, I don't want to buy the upgrade at this point. How can I make the license back to the old key... which of course, now I can't see.  I bought several upgrades, and you have not installed all, so I don't know how many of those I've not used on other machines upgrade is the one I used on this one.
