  • WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER... Missing codecs

My windows media player use to play DVD & VCD but now missing the codec so can't watch these now. Download the codecs but them uninstalled as apparently do IE, Media Player etc unstable. Is anyone able to help with this please... Thanks :)

    Hello

Thanks for posting in this forum. I understand that DVD is not playing in Windows media player, installed some codecs but these codecs were Internet Explorer unstable. Let us know if it's the misunderstanding of the question.

A codec is a software to compress or decompress a digital media file, such as a song or a video. Windows Media Player and other programs use codecs to play and create digital media files.

A codec can consist of two components: an encoder and a decoder. The encoder performs the compression function (coding) and the decoder performs the decompression function (decoding). Some codecs include both components and some codecs only one of them.

For example, when you rip a song from an audio CD on your computer, the player uses the default Windows Media Audio codec to compress the song into a compact WMA file. When you play that WMA file (or any WMA file that may be broadcast from a Web site), the player uses the codec Windows Media Audio to decompress the file for music can be played through your speakers.

  • Windows Media Player 11 under WinXP missing labels

Windows Media Player 11 under WinXP SP3 appears as the old WMP 10 with the classic menus.

I uninstalled and reinstalled WMP11.  The current version is 11.0.5721.5280.

    I wish I could attach a screenshot.

All that shows is the elements of 'classic' menu file/View/Play/Toos/help.

The large black tabs for <- -="">Now Playing | RIP | Library | Burn | Sync | Media Guide are missing.

Enter ctrl-M to the classic menus doesn't change anything.

By clicking on the small icon to go to the 'full' mode does nothing.

How WMP to display the user interface of new type.  I have another computer running WinXP SP3 with WMP11 which works as expected, and I can't seem to find out what is different.

WMP11 is like it is stuck in some form of compact mode with the old style user interface.

  • Media Player 12 "play to" missing option in trying to sink from PC to TV

original title; Media Player 12 "play to."

I have a Sharp Aquos certified DLNA TV news.  I can reach my home network using a Wi - Fi connection and use internet television applications.

When I try to stream from my computer (win7 with wmp12) on TV, I don't see the "" play to "option."

When I choose the game icon in the game tab, I get an error message "no devices found media."  I greeted streaming, I tried to allow programs through the firewall... nothing.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

There are different types of DLNA certification. to play at work, the device
must be a DMR (Digital Media Renderer). Your TV can 'pull' using DLNA and is
a DMP (Digital Media Player), but apparently is not a DMR. I downloaded the
Manual and the only references DLNA are for functions of TRACTION. This would seem to
be the case with many Sharp televisions.

Strong customer service may be able to confirm what DLNA features are supported.

  • the Player Windows Media Player 11 burned CD missing information.

I burned a CD with WMP 11 in my XP Pro machine and it played on my computer Windows 7 using WMP12. He played but no information about the albums, artists presented themselves.  I wanted to copy the CD, but I'm really sick of Unknown in my music so I won't start to pollute my new machine. Any help here. Thank you

If you burned the files as an audio cd (one you can play in a CD player) the information will not be saved. If you burn the files on the CD as a data disc, the information must be stored.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/279157

If the two computers are connected to a router, you simply share your music and copy the files to the Windows 7 computer like that.

Please try this: click the button start , click Control Panel, click programs and features, and then click turn on turn Windows features on or off.
