Media Port Mode on a MSE 8510

Hello

I would like a confirmation, currently we have a blade in our MSE 8510 and the Media Port is set to HD.

  • This means that we have 20 HD video Ports available (up to 20 endpoints will be able to connect)
  • We have also 20 dedicated ports for streaming.
  • Finally, we have 20 additional voice Ports.

The problem is that we have a meeting that it will take 26 video Ports, if I put it in the SD, we have about 40 SD video Ports. But no content or audio ports.

Will be what this means if 26 end points to connect I have 14 left ports and ports audio and content will begin to use my video ports?

I'd connect 26 people on my MSE 8510, with about 10 people connecting via audio and all end points will receive the content.

Please see attached picture.

Yes, if you share your content, will consume you a port video, same thing for one participant audio that connects to the Conference.

  • Difficulties of transmission C40 to MSE 8510 via H323

    Nice day

I currently have intermittent problems between a codec C40 and my MCU. When the device is composed in the bridge it does not have audio or video, it passes however.

There is no shortage of receive audio or video when composed through SIP (MCU) or dial directly from another endpoint via H323.

The unit was stable until I upgraded to TC6.2.0. I upgraded C40s all across the country and no other issues brought to the point. The problem persisted after that I get the system back to 6.1.2.

After the failure of the downgrade I upgraded to 6.2.0 and resetting the device. Once reset, I did a restore of the TMS system.

The unit is problematic since the installation. I have known problems that the unit could not pick up thermometers grounded which caused the device past security mode and increase the speed of the fans. In order to solve the problem, I upgraded the software twice. Currently, the unit may not in standby mode.  I also found the camera freezes and needs a reboot to restore functionality.

  • Why replace MSE 8510 MCU 4.4 with Telepresence Server (3.1)

We have a with MCU 4.4 MSE 8510. Looking at the software accessible to the general public, that looks like that I could replace the software with the telepresence instead server software.

Why I do this? What can I win (and lose) by? I don't have any old CTS systems, just Jabber, MXP and C systems. Is telepresence server software that is actively developed while the old software MCU is not?

    Thank you

I agree with you, Codian MCU is the best.   =)

This is why I think Cisco is not going to add MCU multi-screen support, because if MCU multi-screen support, I don't know that all customers would not want to migrate to server TP or buy a new server TP.

But because of these two main features of server TP, we think about its use, who are the multimonitor support and support for the optimization of the resources with the driver.

Many Cisco! As always... In this way, they can keep the two products on the market, MCU and GST.

  • Custom privileges for the user, MSE 8510 blade

    Hello!

Does anyone know if it is possible to create a user account on the MSE 8510 blade with 'custom' privileges more than the preconfigured settings?

Example: You can create a user who can display one or more conferences (and only) and "limited control" for those conferences WITHOUT giving the user the ability to view/edit other conferences?

    Kind regards

    OLA

    HI, Ola,

I'm afraid that this is not possible at the moment, and my suggestion here is to wear a request functionality, through the Key Account Manager - based on the effect of nbusiness this feature has on your business, we can consider this to be implemented.

Currently there are 7 different level privileges, but none of the people not can be customized, as requested.

    The levels of prvivilegel are:

    1 Administrator

    2. conference creation and control

    3. creation and restricted control conference

    4. creation of the Conference

    5. details of conference

    6 conference list more streaming

    7 list Conference only

Please let me know if you need more details about each individual privilege.

  • MSE 8510 MCU Chair vs participants comments

What is the difference between a Chair and feedback from participants, and which is considered to be someone to be a president and another guest?

I have the following options set on our MCU and no matter how I compose in, even a non registered endpoint that is not on our VCS, I always give me the level of control for users of Chair set.

    MCU type: MSE 8510 v4.3

In the menu call for Chair: 3 - advanced level

In the menu request for comments: level 1 - Local

    Thanks, Patrick

    > What is the difference between a Chair and feedback from participants, and which is considered to be someone to be a president and another guest?

A conference will not begin before the first President of the joints.

Endpoint to participate as guests (participate in the Conference with guest ID) will see a silent screen black/along with the text of the display "waiting for the Chair of the Conference" and an audio prompt after five seconds, then every minute thereafter.

Addition to above, you can control the behavior when the last president left the Conference (it's the only when invited remain setting).

    The two options are:

    -All participants are disconnected (default)

-All participants can continue the Conference until the last of them disconnects (non-action)

  • Image of MSE 8510/8710 blades and custom

    Hello

We have a customer requirement to download the image to measure for the MSE 8510/8710 balde. Essentially when they call the standard AUTOMATIC or TMR, they won't see the Codian image (built in) and they need to see their own custom image with the custome made audio.

I know that we can load the audio files on command. can we upload the image static (such as a company logo) as a bunch of customization?

Note: The TANDBERG (MCU, ISDN GW) products had this option to download the custom image made.

    Thank you.

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

We can only toggle the lobby screen. From now there is no provision to load a custom image.

    To turn on global basis

    1. go in configuration > system settings

' 2. check or uncheck the box ' display entry screen "checkbox

To do this on a per Conference basis

    1. go to configuration of particluar conference

    2. Select the appropriate option in "View the lobby screen" menu drop-down.

In addition, you can apply feature through the appropriate channels.

Please have this question answers and write it down. If have more queries do not hesitate to ask.

In both cases, the loopback driver is set up because I do not have these ports connected to anything. But it's not important at this stage. The thing is that I have two ways to set up the same thing, but I don't know which is the right.

    Thank you very much

    Emiliano

    Hello Emiliano,

In both cases, the encapsulation for xconnect is mpls only. the other encapsulation tht you defined as the service instance is to map an incoming tag to a service instance. If you receive an image without any tag it will be mapped to the instance of service 1.

Say assume that instead of 'default of encapsulation' we confiure "encapsulation dot1q 10" then all the frames coming with 10 tag will be mapped to this service instance.

Now a major difference between the two implementation is, one is the port-based EoMPLS is second evolutionary EoMPLS. In EoMPLS based on port, you can use this port only to L2 circuit service, while as part of the CVS, you can create several service instance and use them for different services.

Probably the biggest advantage of the VCA framework is the ability to support several services by physical port. This means that under a single physical port, you have the following mixed together:

    -802. 1 q trunk

    -802. 1 q tunnel

    -Local connect

    -Scalable EoMPLS (EoMPLS xconnect)

    -Multipoint Bridging (L2 bypass)

-Multipoint Bridging (VPLS, focused on the SVI EoMPLS)

    -L3 termination

    Kind regards

  • 8710 GST MSE and MSE 8510 blade clustering

These can simple questions, but I can't seem to find clear answers to these questions. You can cluster telepresence MCU MSE 8510 blade with GST MSE 8710 blades? And if yes, what version of the software do I need to have each blade running? I'm looking to upgrade our MCU at GST and I want to just make sure I have all the info I need. Thank you.

    Hello Eddie,

You can only cluster the same blades.  Example, MCU with other 8510 8510 s up to 3 blades and GST 8710 with other 8710 s up to 4 blades.  The exception to this rule is if you are migrating your MCU 8510 to GST blades by installing the MCU to the GST software on the 8510, see Running_TS_Software_on_MCU_MSE8510 on how to do this, so these blades MCU 8510 now becomes and should then be treated as GST 8710 blades.

All blades that should be included in a cluster must be running the same version of the software.

    Hello

I think that you need this one: PA3042E-1DST Multi Media Replicator Port, but according to certain specifications, this port replicator can be used with different options. This means that you must PA3014E - 1DVD DVD Drive Kit or PA3015U-1CDD 24 x CD-ROM Drive Kit II.

    That s all I found.

During our first installation of our UCS deployment only two of our rising four that connect the fabric to the frame were connected. This was done by a contractor. Now, we have two other cables and get them connected but mode on ports are set to "Trunk" and "tissue" as not the rest. The role has been defined in the interface of the UCS, but fashion was not so easy. How can I change this way of fabric?

    Hi Dennis,

But there is NO need to be set to 4. As mentioned, the chassis discovery policy determines what is the minimum number of links for a frame be discovered/usable. See you to have it set to 2, it is very good and you can keep it this way.

The fact that you have only 3 cables from IOM to the interconnection of fabric, this is not a valid configuration, because only 1, 2 or 4 links are taken care of. You must increase the number of cable to 4 and then re - emphasize the chassis to activate the additional links.

    Let me know.

  • Recording in Windows media center mode 'sleep'

Original title: record in hibernate or standby mode

Will be windows media center recording a first HDHomeRun in "sleep" or hibernation mode?

    Hey, Logan,

Windows Media Center records the first home run HD programs or any which TV tuner installed. However, you may need to follow a few rules.

-If you turn off your computer, Windows Media Center does not have a regular program. The computer must be turned on or "standby mode" to record a television show. The computer will not automatically in standby mode if Windows Media Center is open.

-Make sure that you turn off the screen and lower or turn off the sound if you have one at the request of a record in the middle of the night and don't want to be disturbed.

-Your scheduled recording may not save in the following situation: schedule you a recording in Windows Media Center to start in less than ten minutes, close Windows Media Center and put your computer into standby or hibernation mode immediately. Use or one of the following options to save your record programmed:

    a. do not close Windows Media Center before you put your computer on standby or hibernation.
    b. after having programmed a recording, wait a minute before you put the computer in standby or hibernation.
