Memory help please

Pavilion DV6 - 7010US Entertainment PC laptop is

with Windows 7 64 bit.

I can't find anything on the site that tells me this as the maximum amount of memory that I can install in the computer. There are two slots... I've been on a Web site that sells the memory and they show that this computer supports 16 GB of memory... but once installed, it is only recognizing 8 GB... so I don't think that he will use all the 16 GB unless there is something I need to do...

Please advise what the maximum memory for this computer...  I can't find it on the site of HP...

Thank you

Barbara

Barbara,

Here are the specifications of your laptop of HP Pavilion dv6-7010us Entertainment and this is its HP Pavilion dv6 Entertainment PC - Maintenance and Service of Guide. In Chapter 1, page 4, description of the product it says clearly.

Two customer accessible/upgradable memory module slots

Supported dual channel DDR3 - 1600 MHz

Supports up to 16384 MB of system RAM

Which is another way of saying the 16 GB of RAM (2 x 8 GB DIMMS). Your best bet is to purchase memory from a dealer of quality with a statement of "compatibility guaranteed". Corsiar.com is one of those places.

Please send Bravo

I've had this computer for about 3 months now, and this error began to occur when Nexon has voice chat and a few new features of game which took place in a patch about 1 month ago.

    How to fix this error?

I would be very grateful if you could help me.

    Mr. Gill,
I would say that you uninstall\re-insatll the game but do not install the patch.  Then, play the game and try for awhile and see if the error occurs.  It is possible that the patch is not fully compatible with Windows 7, or a piece of your equipment.  You can also check manufacturers of games forums for more information on this situation. • Svchost is taking too much memory, help please?

My computer started lagging randomly the other day and I checked the Task Manager processes and saw svchost was using almost 600 k of memory and about 40% of the CPU. I right click the svchost and went to services and seen it as things netsvcs the svchost related.

I didn't know what to do and could not find a way to solve this problem, so I decided that I would just restore my computer with my CD of Windows 7 Ultimate. The reinstallation of Windows 7 (formatted my HD), it would allow me to make updates. I kept getting errors (8007001F I think is most often, I got) I searched and searched on the error I received, but could not find anything useful. So I ignored just updated. Now the svchost is take a lot of memory. Mind you, until I reinstalled Windows 7, my computer has been updated and the svchost was taking a lot of memory. Here are the screenshots.

Also, I try to put an end to the process, but it results in a blue screen and restart sometimes.

I suggest you download Process Explorer. This freeware utility performs a similar function to the Windows Task Manager, but it goes much further.

For more information about Process Explorer, see here:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/SystemInformation/ProcessExplorer.mspx

When you open the process Explorer, you need customize settings. This by checking the options on the view menu drop-down. Click Select columns, and then the process Image tab check all the boxes before description, Image, Image Type and command line path. I suggest that you click also on two other options in the drop-down display, namely show processes from all users and display fractions CPU.

The extent to which you can customize is considerable. You can change the information displayed and this sometimes leads to confusion and frustration.

Processes are listed in the left column. Some names appear to be duplicated. This isn't so. Svchost.exe is an apparent example of duplication. You generally listed something like 10 cases. If you right-click one and select properties and the Image tab you will find that the command line is different for each instance of svchost.exe. Each instance of svchost.exe is another group of services. You can see a list of these Services if you click on the Services tab.

  • Pavilion dv6: failure of memory, help!

    Hello world

I had some memory problems lately, including many blue screens with 'MEMORY MANAGEMENT' listed as the problem. I ran a test of memory by pressing F10 at startup for the area of memory and the test failed in about 2 seconds after the start. I got the following information:

    Failure ID: RGFTMU-5MN7K3-MFP556-406903

    Product ID: LW260UAR #ABA

According to me, one of my chips of memory is damaged, but I do not know how to access physically to replace. Help, please!

    It's 2 GB 1333 MHZ PC3 - 10600 DDR3 SDRAM SODIMM

You can replace it with a 4 gig of same type and speed. East - another module the same? The only thing you lose by mixing module sizes is operation "dual channel" which is a bit faster and lose would be a compromise to have more RAM.

It would be a like kind replacement:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/like/231033893993?lpid=82&CHN=PS

That would be an upgrade to a 4 GB module.

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/4GB-DDR3-1333-MHz-PC3-10600-single-stick-SODIMM-laptop-notebook-RAM-memory-204p-/361150227991?PT=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item54163b2617

You don't want to try to stay with the same density memory; that is 4 blocks on one side. It's a little unusual for HP high density (4 blocks) RAM in their laptops, it is usually 8 block or low density. That's why I'm asking if the other module is the same.

  • Liteon Cd ROM completely lacking in 'My Computer'. Help, please! (Someone... Please help!)

Hello.  I tried to contact the OEM directly, but it has been a week and no response.  I hope someone can help me please.  I copy the email below.  Because I sent this e-mail, I found more "evidence" of the prior exestance of CD ROM  Although it is completely zero from 'My Computer', there are a lot of drivers on the computer for him and now I don't think it's the drivers. I don't know what to think, really. "Here are my new results: in Device Manager, under" Liteon CD ROM "(always with an exclamation yelloe on this subject) I tried to run the"Hardware Update Wizard"for her, and I got this response: the wizard did not find a better match for the material that the equipment currently installed. When I look under 'properties', he says: "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device. When I click to troubleshoot, I get the same message ("Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »).  He (Liteon CD-ROM) is not listed under "config/system/system information system summer/components/multimedia/CD ROM '-there's just an empty space next to"CD ROM ". Even that in "my computer - it's gone."  The CD ROM will not work, but the light is on and it wil eject and accept a disc, but it will not read it. Please look at my email below and please email me with any questions or recommendations. I can't take another sleepless night, trying to "find my CD lost.  It can be a very simple solution - I hope so. But in all honesty, I really don't know what the problem is.

    Dear Sirs,

I'm really, really hoping you can help me. I'm about to lose my mind trying to figure this out by myself.  I can't find a more appropriate contact you, so please forgive me if this isn't in your area or service. If that is the case, Please before my email to the section within your company and let me know. Everything on the official Liteon site I found and (tried to) read is in Taiwanese, and I am unable to read or translate.  If you could (have mercy on me) so help me or point me in the right direction - I would appreciate it very much .  I tried to understand what I have to do for 2-1/2 weeks and I have spent too much time on this when I should be spending time with my kids! :).

My problem is the following... Recently, I ran a clean up/duplicate file registry cleaner program (ARO) and it seems also removed some vital and very much needed files, extensions, drivers, programs and who knows what else.  I had to download several other programs, file extensions and drivers from scratch, in order to get these things working again. But I can not for the life of understand me what to do with my Liteon CD-ROM. I also used the registry cleaner deletes "duplicate files", and after researching (too late), I found that it often confuses some files as duplicates when they are indeed not the same - post or file descriptions are very similar, or disable a single number or letter. I lost a lot of my pictures as well, and I'm heartbroken over. Anyway, the biggest problem I've noticed is that my CD ROM (Liteon CD-ROM LTN486S) will not work. It happened immediately after the registry cleaner 'cleaned' my folders and things - so I guess that's the culprit.  In fact, my computer is not recognizing even the CD ROM at all. It of Completely disappeared-MIA of 'Information/system components' lacks content 'My Computer' and when I try to update the drivers in the only place I can find that show the CD ROM (but with a large yellow explanation
! Mark) - in the "Device Manager" , I get the error: "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) ». Then, when I right click on it and select "Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device", I get the same error: ("Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »). Track only of it (that I can find anyway) is in the 'Device Manager', where even once, it's a big yellow exclamation on the "Liteon CD-ROM LTN486S" here.  It is the only piece of evidence that it ever existed. I've looked everywhere I can think of, in places that I didn't know existed. I've looked everywhere on the internet for the driver for the "Liteon CD-ROM LTN486S' updates but unfortunately, I can't find. There are a few items that refer to the "OEM".  For some reason, I think it's the drivers, but I'm not computer very well informed. It could be something completely different. I wish I could uninstall info CD (only) existing Liteon I can find - and reinstall everything from zero (even do this? Please, tell!). Then... I thought that I contact me Liteon and ask for the drivers. It's at least a Start.  Could you tell me if there is something else I should do or review.

I then tried to transfer a book of overdrive as usual and it would not transfer because of the Sansa Clip says that there are only apart of 1.87 GB 100 MBinternal memory. It is impossible because it has absolutely nothing at all downloaded on my Clip. Help, please. I don't know what to do. Thank you.

I think that there may be two ways to go about troubleshooting it: a clean format, reload.     or check the memory of Clips with a windows machine and running Chkdsk on it.     I prefer the Format myself that this will clear most gremlins.   But a chkdsk /f can work as well.

To Format the Clips of Sansa memory go on the Menu Settings > Format > Yes ...   Then reload your music and audio books.

Use chkdsk (excerpt from the Clips FAQ)

Getting weird or empty file names, you can not delete? Songs of stop working in some albums? Running the disk check can help.

    Here is the workaround:

    1. To connect in MSC / Mode of Rhapsody.
    2. Open my computer and take note of the drive letter; example; e: / or f: /.
    3. Left click Start then run: and type chkdsk x:/f (x being the letter of the drive that was mentioned earlier).

As the title, how can I use process Explorer to check PID 1176 60% CPU svchost.exe? Help, please.

The task manager has PID 1176-60% CPU, all the time, which I believe is the reason my pc works so slow.

How to use Exp Pro to know what is actually using 60% of my cpu, via svchost 1176 PID?

I found the Exp Pro Geek guide - but are struggling to pass for a non geek.

    Using Vista 32 bit.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Process explore uses more resources than svchost, it works automatically using a lot of memory. Anyway, the open task

Mgr, locate the svchost, R.click on the location of TI/properties/open a file. You will find that it is a service of microsoft.

The drain is usually in BITS, try to go to run, or cmd, type: services.msc in msc, locate BITS, R.click on it, open,

Set to manual start, exit msc, restart the pc.

I can't get my computer to recognize the usb device, I installed all updates for the drive yet still is not recognized in my computer, the device appears in Device Manager but trying to move files, and there is nothing to move. I have a page but do not paste in the box, then someone please help me, this isn't the 1st time that does not recognize the drive: the last time was an Mp3 player. Still recognizes camera memory card, please someone help me?

    Thanks Lindsay

    Lindsay1985,

Without knowing the brand and model of your computer and the operating system (other than Vista) what I see, you recently reinstall the operating system?

If this is a Dell computer, try to install the laptop / desktop utility first.

So for other computers (including Dell) install the chipset drivers. The chipset drivers usually contain the drivers for the USB Ports.

    Hello

Two main causes of this blue screen video drivers and BIOS - check with the system manufacturer
Site for graphics (Video) card and BIOS, then on site of the manufacturer of the device for the last video. It may be
other pilots to check there. Disable the installation of self as those who are older and if
Updates Windows suggests a pilot just HIDE. Antivirus is another possibility.

See methods of update driver generic in the next message.

BCCode: 8th 0x0000008E is the same as 0x1000008E

    Cause

Bug KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED control is a very common bug control. To interpret
You must identify which exception has been generated.

    Solve the problem

If you do not have to debug this problem, you must use certain basic troubleshooting techniques:

    • Make sure you have enough disk space.
    • If a driver is identified in the bug check message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates.
    • Try changing video cards.
    • Check with your hardware vendor for updates to the BIOS.
    • Disable the BIOS memory options such as implementing caching or shading.

If you plan to debug this problem, you may find it difficult to get a stack trace. Parameter 2 (the address of the exception) should identify the driver or function that caused the problem.

If you do not know the specific cause of the exception, consider the following:

    • Hardware incompatibility. Ensure that all new equipment installed is listed in the list of the products tested Microsoft Windows market.
    • Service driver or defective peripheral system. A chauffeur service or defective peripheral system could be responsible for this error. The hardware problems, such as BIOS incompatibilities, conflicts of memory and IRQ conflicts can also generate this error.

If the verification of the message bug list a driver by name, disable or remove that driver. In addition, disable or remove drivers or services that have been recently added. If the error occurs during the startup sequence and the system partition is formatted with the NTFS file system, you may be able to use Safe Mode to rename or to delete the faulty driver. If the driver is used as part of the start-up procedure of the system Safe Mode, you must start the computer by using the Recovery Console to access the file.

If the problem is associated with Win32k.sys, the source of the error may be a third-party remote control program. If this software is installed, you can remove the system startup service using the recovery and then Console by removing the offending system service file.

Check the system log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help identify the device or driver responsible for control of bug 0x1E. You can disable the cache in memory of the BIOS to try to resolve the error. You must also run the diagnostics of material, especially the scanner memory, which provides the manufacturer of the system. For more information about these procedures, see the manual of your computer.

The error that generates this message may occur after the first reboot during Windows Setup, or after installation is complete. A possible cause of the error is lack of disk space for installation and the system BIOS incompatibilities. For any problems during the installation of Windows that are associated with lack of disk space, reduce the number of files on the hard disk drive target. Search and delete temporary files that you do not have to have, files hidden Internet, application backup files and files saved .chk , which contain fragments of files on disk scans. You can also use an another hard disk drive with more free space for the installation.

You can solve the problems of BIOS by upgrading the version of the system BIOS

Test the sticks individually and if you find a good, test it in all slots.

Any error is indicative of a memory problem.
If a well-known stick fails in a slot of motherboard, it's probably the slot.

    2. Driver Verifier

Using Driver Verifier is a dubious proposition. Most of the time it will crash and it will tell you what is the driver.

But sometimes it will crash and will not tell you the driver.
Sometimes it will crash until you can connect to Windows. If you can't mode without failure, then you will have to resort to editing the registry offline to disable driver verifier.
I suggest that you first back up your data and make sure you have access to another computer so you can contact us in case of problems.
Then do a system restore point (so you can restore the system using the functionality of Vista/Win7 Startup Repair).

    Here is the procedure:

Click Start and type "auditor" (without the quotes) and press enter
Select 'Create a custom settings (for code developers)' and click 'Next' (or Type "check/standard/all" (without the quotes) If you want to check each of them (this will slow down your computer))

Choose "Select custom settings from a full list" and click "Next".
Select the entire document except for "Low resource Simulation" to win 8 do not check concurrency stress test and the verification of the conformity of DDI, click "next".
Select "Select driver names from a list", then click "next".
Select all drivers that are NOT provided by Microsoft, and then click "Next".
On the next page, select "Finish".
Restart the system and wait as he crashed to blue screen.
Continue to use your system normally and if you know what are the causes of the crash, do it several times. The objective here is to get the system crash because Driver Verifier is stressing out the drivers. If it is not planted for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation.
If you are unable to Windows because it crashes too early, try safe mode.
If you can't mode without fail, try to use the system from the installation DVD restore to bring the system back to the previous point of restoration that you created.

I don't really think it will work, but I have a vague memory of something like this caused by different versions of a file in Bridge and Photoshop. If you want to try it go in the bridge folder and find a file named Amtlib.dll and rename the original Amtlib.dll. Now, go to your Photoshop folder and find the file with the same name and copy it in the folder of the bridge. Now, try to see if your image will now open in Raw. If this does not work, go to the folder of the bridge, remove the Amtlib.dll and restore the original to its former name.

    Could someone help please?

I try to install PFRD 11g, following, "Oracle® Fusion Middleware Guide Installation of Oracle Portal, forms, reports and discoverer 11 g Release 1 (11.1.1)"

On a server for Red Hat Linux Enterprise 5-32 bit, properly installed Weblogic and PFRD (Portal, forms, reports, discoverer) 11g (type installation only). Then, run config.sh to configure the instance PFRD. However, the configuration hangs at step 11 12, creative field.

The server has 6 GB of physical memory and out of it, 5 GB memory is free.

I think it's because of the 5566 port is not available, but I don't know how solve it, someone help me please? Thank you very much.

    You can use

    netstat -ap|grep 5556

to check which process is using port 5556. An example of output is the following:
    TCP 0 0: 5556 *: * LISTEN 4858/java
The last column shows the pid and process what it is (in this case a java process)

For more information the process, you can use

    ps -ef|grep java

An example of output is the following:
    Oracle 4858 4835 7 12:09 pts/2 00:00:03 /home/oracle/bea/jrrt-4.0.1-1.6.0/bin/java jrockit-Xms128m-Xmx256m - Xverify: weblogic aucun-Djava.security.policy=/home/oracle/bea/wlserver_10.3/server/lib/weblogic.policy-Dweblogic.nodemanager.javaHome=/home/oracle/bea/jrrt-4.0.1-1.6.0. NodeManager - v
In this case the Nodemanager uses port 5556.

You can stop the process using kill-9 4858 (4858 being the process id - could be different in your case).

We you run Setup (/wlserver_10.3/common/bin config.sh) there is an option to edit
setting up your environment (select optional configuration). Here you can change the settings of managed servers,
clusters and machines so check this box on the screen. It is a screen to configure the servers managed in which you
can change the settings of the managed servers to create (for example listening ports). In the next step, you can configure

clusters (and subsequently to add servers to the cluster). When you click Next, you are offered the machine configuration
screen, in which you can set the parameters of the machines. For each machine, you can configure a nodemanager thanks to the
parameters nodemanager listening address and port to listen nodemanager. The last parameter, you can change a port number
that is not already taken on your system.
