Memory of blowing?

Hello.

Im running Yosemite 10.10.5 against a mercury OWC 500 GB end of 2008 Mac pro PCIe.

For all the quirks of the QWC my mac has been brilliant and quick for the 18 months or so, but lately been doing the SBOD and some unwanted free reboots.

I thought I'd do a little maintenance began with a nvpram reset only at the end upward with a gray screen with a flashing folder and? icon of the brand.

I've tried a few things, all failed to get my mac will so I Yos cloned on a spare drive, so I threw that and disc warriored the OWC is a 30%, so him cleaned up and restarted to him, it works well then pulled out the hot spare and thought I'd nvpram reset attempt again only to get the same result , folder icon with?.

It seems that if I try to do any other initialize i.e secure boot or test hardware (D at startup) or start-up, he freaks out and I have to throw in the hot spare to recover.

I've done some Flair on and noticed that my ram was showing only 8 GB of 14 and it looks like a pair of 4 GB and a pair of 2 GB have blow out (this is probably why I was getting the SBOD).

Someone at - he seen this before and would it be a danger linked my OS on the OWC pcie?

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated

Thanks Ronny

Sorry early 2008 mac pro

I had the same problem and was able to fix it with the following steps:

    1. Unplug everything
    2. Unscrew and remove the side panel
    3. Pop-out each memory card, blow on them and pop that hide them in (make sure that the legs down lock)

One of the memory cards must have shaken lose somehow, even if they seemed fine at first.  My system began immediately to the right upwards later.

Hi, I have a Satellite A60-217 (Intel Pentium IV HT 532, 3.06 GHz), and I want to upgrade the memory by adding a 512 MB of currently installed memory (256 MB with 64 MB shared memory for video card).

    Hello Stefano

Of course, the added module is not compatible and makes trouble. I found the info, this compatible module PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51).

Google a bit and you will find lots of information on the module with the PA3312U - 1 M 51 part number.

My dv6 became very slow. I am running Windows 10 and now it takes 15-20 minutes to wake him up from his sleep and connect. Ive done a lot of cleanup and optimization, but nothing got better on that. It get very hot very quickly and the fan always seems to be at the top. I'm looking to try to upgrade the memory and perhaps the (quad-core) processor at least if possible, to see if the performance is going to do better. I can hardly do anything on this issue now because it takes too long! I have a 1 TB of HDD installed there a few years and who works well, but everyday navigation, products microsoft office and editing photo/video light from time to time are almost impossible! What memory and processors are compatible with my device that I could look in the upgrade? Any help is greatly appreciated! http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docid=emr_na-c02548013

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See p. 23. Your laptop has the CPU i3 - 370 M and UMA (Intel HD) video so, unfortunately, the processor is not extensible because it is soldered to the motherboard. Put video updated would also require the replacement of the motherboard. CPU upgrades are very difficult and rarely justify financially, in any case, but in your case is not possible at all unless you replace the motherboard, which is even more expensive and less be justified financially. The cost of high end motherboard and CPU and work, you might as well buy a new laptop.

But all is not lost. The best upgrade, you can do is to install an SSD. You can also switch to 8 GB of RAM. An upgrade will be useful, together, they would be a game-changer.

You would need 2 x 4 GB modules specified thus:

    Memory module (DDR3 PC3 - 10600 1333 MHz) - 4096 MB 599092-001

    https://www.Amazon.com/HP-VH641AT-4-GB-DDR3-PC3-10600/DP/B0030L3B8E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8 & qid = 1472066313 & SR = 8-1 & Keywords = 599092-001

This model is very, very picky about the memory and it must have 8 black blocks on the side, not 4. Also very intolerant of memory not specified in general. Remember that I bound will work. 'How to' on the manual p.60.

SSDS are a little harder to choose (as many options) and what I need to know is your budget. I recommend at least a concert 500 class SSD and which will cost $120-160. Since you have 10 Windows, it would be easy to download the Microsoft recovery media directly and simply reinstall, then find the drivers and applications and migrate the data. The installation will be ignited automatically the first time that the computer is connected to the internet. You can also clone the existing content of the new SSD hard drive, but I do not recommend with a facility that is malfunctioning.

We also probably discuss blowing dust and verification of thermal management in general. A laptop that suddenly becomes very slow, as you describe may have a hard drive problem, too. You need to run diagnostics on the hard drive and also just to check to see if it is full. Drops of performance as a rock if the hard disk reaches 90 percent and more capacity.

  • LabView VB6 Dll interface causes memory leak

    Hello

We use a large written in vb6 in our laboratory measurement built house software. Recently, we have added a new detector that is read using a labview vi that is called using a dll directly from vb6. Here, we call the function for example of read_detector which starts the collection of data and in a next step writes the data to a string. When you have finished the called function returns a pointer to the string and its length. VB6, we read this pointer and process data.

This is a memory leak. This could be the case because we presets not memory for labview to write in and so just writing lab data in memory without releasing again? In the current configuration, the function of the dll is just called again and again and each lab view creates a variable outputstring.

If we allocate the memory. How can we achieve for vb6?

    Best,

    Julian

Well first of all, a handful of string LabVIEW is a very specific type of data LabVIEW. Not only is only LabVIEW himself knows exactly how to allocate and deallocate, but you must also allocate and deallocate in exactly the same instance of LabVIEW. Given that your LabVIEW DLL is executed for this purpose inside the DLL to run LabVIEW, you must also recover the LabVIEW memory manager functions according to DSDisposeHandle() of the lvrt.dll and call it after you are finished with the strings returned by the DLL function. This is however made very complicated since there are circumstances where not lvrt.dll is actually used by your DLL but another LabVIEW runtime system. And if you happen to have two DLLs created with different versions of LabVIEW LabVIEW, each of them will load and use its enforcement LabVIEW system according to DLL load next. Believe me, you don't want to know how next dll works and how to make this opportunity to work in an application. This is the way for Microsoft to create a monster to manage the hell of the DLL and in this way, rather to create exponential version of hell.

You create just two memory leaks for each call of DLL function at the moment. LabVIEW creates a new handle of string for each of the parameters string at each call, you dereference the pointer, and then copy the contents into a SysString. But you let the chain handles LabVIEW blow created around the stack and the next your function call, you initialize the new variables of the battery which is initialized to null and LabVIEW creates two new handles. Also you need to do is to define an "Integer DSDisposeHandle(LStrHandle As Long)" exported lvrt.dll function and call it once you have copied the data of the handle in your SysString for both of these handles.

But basically calling a DLL LabVIEW from no LabVIEW code and using LabVIEW handles string or array as parameters is several times more trouble that it's worth. The easiest would be fair, allocate a large enough buffer beforehand and pass those to the Configuration of the service DLL LabVIEW function to not accept a handful of string LabVIEW but a pointer to a string C instead. Do you work around the problem on the memory allocated by someone else to worry about your own program of VB and duty he properly release. The disadvantage of this approach is, that you should make sure that the memory allocated buffer is large enough for the maximum possible length that your DLL function may never return.

But another approach might be to leave out LabVIEW total here and call the DAQmx APIs directly from VB.

  • Wow Error 132 memory cannot be written... and so on

I'll have wow Error 132 arrive about an hour after the start of the game world warcraft, the game crashes and the error 132. I went on the support site for games and have done everything they said to do to solve the problem, I even updated my drivers and installed a new graphics card and have installed more ram made sure to reset virtual memory but continues to have the error again and become very frustrated and ready to blow this older HP desk top. I also went on HP website to get the drivers right and made sure I had all my top desk needed on their part I tried everything I know to do except replace the computer.

    Hi Noel1969,

    ·         Who is the manufacturer of the graphics card?

    ·         What operating system is installed on the computer?

This error is because your DDR memory is volatile. This can also occur if the BIOS settings are wrong. The especially voltage can be set to AUTO. It is very important that you set the correct voltage.

    Example: ddr2 6400 setting 1.8 volt.

Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft has not Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Change the BIOS at your own risk.

I suggest that you contact HP to change the BIOS on the computer

Check the voltage on the computer.

I suggest that you check the version of DirectX on your computer.

If you have a Nvidia Geforce, then downgrade to 93.71 driver (they are older, but still work)

  • Memory, databases and applications without head

I've been struggling with this problem for some time now so let's go.

As many of you know headless apps allowances of bunch of limit of 3 MB, which is fine, except when using Qt/Cascades objects that don't care much to consumption of memory, two examples are QNetwork and QtSql, who will blow easily your budget of memory in a single operation.

I have simple ' SELECT * from Table' queries that consume more than 6MB, which then effectively disables the component without a head. More precise, I do the query the heap more than it consumes. So I tried libsqlite3, results were similar. It was however the promise to provide a chunck of mmap would or memory of static array for substitute of the bunch, but I can not:

    sqlite3_config(SQLITE_CONFIG_HEAP,...)

to work correctly, it returns an error (1) every time.

Unfortunately, I'm at the point where it seems that a component without head who uses SQL can be impossible with the current memory limit. Can anyone offer a solution to the use of SQL with headless while maintaining a service that runs reliably?

-Are there when even to provide a static heap memory for QtSql use?

-Are there a way to limit the memory used by QtSql?

    Thank you!

    EI

The solution was to restructure my database, as awkward as this has been significantly reduced the memory required for the information necessary to satisfy the query of data in the buffer. In others, rather than have a huge database of the 8 column I broke it into several two databases colum - when the part without head wants just a little information is exactly what he will get so surprise elimination memory usage spikes.

The problem still exists: as the database develops for a query memory requirements. Has no way to control the maximum limits memory use for QtSql complicating an app without elastic, even theoretically impossible to write head.

    1. update all 3 of these pilots to Alienware and to sites the makers' real device.
Check with the support of Nvidia and other OEMs for known problems. If no
more recent, it may be necessary to go back to the old stable versions.

    2. Remove ALL power, and then reinstall the memory.

3 try adding a fan blowing under the laptop to see what helps.

    4. If none of those is possibly a re-installation of Windows can help.

    5. check with Alienware support or a real computer store (that makes its own service in the workshop).

  • SQLITE out of memory error

    Hi all

I know there are some discussions about this, but they seem to be dead. I have attached a highlight of easy application and crued my problem.  Click the button and it will start operations.

The problem im having is that I am getting large amounts of transaction (lots of 250 transactions) to a server to be applied to a database, inserts updates deletions etc.    It works for awhile, but will then blow with the out-of-memory exceptions.  The number of transactions can be reduced, but even that batch 1 transaction will result in the error.

The application is made to be used for 5.0 devices and most any help would be greatly appreciated.

    See you soon

PS. I don't there are suggestions to use System.GC() but that with no major problems on the cheek.

Hi thanks for the suggestion, I tried it in the test project and it works, but I tried that in the main project, and she has not which leads me to believe their was another problem.

I discovered that there was a scenerio where one of the instructions was not closed off which means the object was never being destroyed.

Thanks for your help by highlighting this.

    Hello

Don't forget to check with the support of game manufacturers and ask in their forums to see if there is
    known problems.

Results verified BlueScreenView WinDBG / DumpCHK.

    The Bug_Check have been in 0a, 1A, 7, 50 and.

When there is that much material different from Bug_Check is almost always involved
at least some of the issues.

    1. remove ALL power and then reinstall memory cards and cables (at both ends, where possible).
in fact, remove and replace - don't do not just tight. Clean the dust bunnies and ensure that fans
work. Try adding a small fan blowing into the socket to reduce the effects of heat (heat
related not always means excessive heat that something might be too sensitive to the same
    normal levels).

    2. test the memory carefully using methods in the troubleshooters below. Keep in mind
This memory tests only detect all errors as the moment where there are tiny speed differences
between the modules that appear to be identical. It is necessary to test the modules in
    various combinations and models.

3 several of the Bug_Check showed CAUSE nvlddmkm.sys who, in the Nvidia video driver.

This error is usually a driver problem and display adapter (video) driver is the most suspicious if she
may be others. Antivirus/antispyware/security programs, equipment (heat) and major software problems
can also cause the error. When you get to the section of the driver to use the Troubleshoot utility my generic
methods in the next message and then return to the if necessary troubleshooting tool.

Have you recently added hardware or drivers updated? Don't forget to look in Control Panel - Windows

    spyware/security programs.

When you get to the pilot and sections of the memory of the troubleshooter check the following message to
update drivers and memory test and then return to the troubleshooter if necessary.

    BCCode: 7F 0x0000007E which is also 0x1000007E

    Cause

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED bug control is a very common bug control. TO
interpret, you must identify which exception has been generated.

    Common exception codes are:

    • 0 x 80000002: STATUS_DATATYPE_MISALIGNMENT indicates an unaligned data reference was encountered.

    • 0 x 80000003: STATUS_BREAKPOINT indicates a breakpoint or ASSERTION was met when no kernel debugger was attached to the system.

    • 0xc0000005: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION indicates a memory access violation has occurred.

For a complete list of exception codes, see the Ntstatus.h file located in theinc directory
the Microsoft Windows Driver Kit (WDK).

    Solve the problem

If you do not have to debug this problem, you must use certain basic troubleshooting techniques.

    • Make sure you have enough disk space.
    • If a driver is identified in the bug check message, disable the driver or check with the
    • Reference of the manufacturer for driver updates.
    • Try changing video cards.
    • Check with your hardware vendor for updates to the BIOS.
    • Disable the BIOS memory options such as implementing caching or shading.

If you plan to debug this problem, you may find it difficult to get a stack trace. Parameter 2
(the address of the exception) must identify the driver or function that caused the problem.

If the exception code 0 x 80000003 occurs, a hard-coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but the system
has been launched with the /nodebug. switch. This problem should occur infrequently. If it occurs repeatedly,
Make sure that a kernel debugger is connected and the system is booted with the Switch/DEBUG .

In case of exception code 0 x 80000002, the trap frame provides additional information.

If you do not know the specific cause of the exception, consider the following questions:

    • Hardware incompatibility. Make sure all new hardware that is installed is listed in the
    • List of Microsoft Windows Marketplace tested products.
    • Service driver or defective peripheral system. A service driver or defective peripheral system can be
    • responsible for this error. Hardware problems, such as the incompatibilities of the BIOS, memory, conflicts
    • and IRQ conflicts can also generate this error.

If a driver is listed by name in the bug check message, disable or remove that driver. Disable
or remove drivers or services that have been recently added. If the error occurs during startup
sequence and the system partition is formatted with the NTFS file system, you may be able to use safe
Mode to rename or to delete the faulty driver. If the driver is used as part of the system startup procedure
in Safe Mode, you must start the computer by using the Recovery Console to access the file.

If the problem is associated with Win32k.sys, the source of the error may be a third remote
control program. If this software is installed, you can remove the boot of the computer service
by using the Recovery Console, and then by removing the offending system service file.

Check the system log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help identify the
device or the driver that generated the bug check 0x7E.

You can also disable memory cache BIOS may try to resolve the error. You should also
Run the diagnostics of material, especially the scanner memory, which provides the manufacturer of the system.
For more information about these procedures, see the manual of your computer.

The error that generates this message may occur after the first reboot during Windows Setup, or
Once the installation is complete. A possible cause of the error is lack of disk space for installation and system
BIOS incompatibilities. For problems during the installation of Windows that are associated with the absence of disc
space, reduce the number of files on the disk drive hard target. Find and delete any temporary
the files that you do not have to have files hidden Internet, backup application and.chkfiles files that
contain fragments of file saved to disk scans. You can also use another hard drive with more drive
free space for the installation. You can solve the problems of BIOS by upgrading the version of the system BIOS.

    BCCode: 50 0 x 00000050

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

Have you recently added any hardware? Have you updated any drivers just before this started? (Check
Panel configuration-updates of Windows to see if all drivers have been updated it there all the time it started)
Main likely culprits are video driver, other great drivers, memory and antivirus/antispyware/security
products could be at fault as well as reader questions.

Use the troubleshooter below and refer to the following message to drivers and memory when you get to
These sections and then back to the resolution of the problems according to the needs.

    BCCode: 50 0 x 00000050

    Cause

The BCCode 50 usually occurs after the installation of faulty hardware, or in case of failure
hardware installed (usually associated with a faulty RAM, be it the main memory, L2 RAM cache memory, or)
    Video RAM).

Another common cause is a defective system service installation.

Antivirus software can also trigger this error, as can a corrupted NTFS volume.

    Solve the problem

Solve a defective hardware problem: If the material has been added to the system recently,
Remove to see if the error recurs. If existing hardware has failed, remove or replace
the defective component. You must run the diagnostics of material provided by the manufacturer of the system.
For more information about these procedures, see the manual of your computer.

Fix a defective system service: Disable the service and confirm that this
resolves the error. If so, contact the manufacturer of the service on a possible system
Update. If the error occurs during the system startup, restart your computer, and press F8 to
character mode menu that displays the choice of operating system. As a result
Windows Advanced Options, select last good known Configuration option menu.
This option is most effective when a pilot or a service is added at a time.

Solve a problem of antivirus software: Disable the program and confirm that this fixes
the error. If this is the case, contact the manufacturer of the program about a possible update.

Fix a corrupted NTFS volume:  Run Chkdsk /f /r to detect and repair disk
errors. You must reboot the system before the start of the analysis of disk on a system partition. If
the hard drive is SCSI, check for problems between the SCSI controller and the disk.

Finally, check the system log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help
identify the device or driver that generated the error. Disable the cache in memory of the BIOS
    could also resolve it.

  • Memory will not work Diagnostic tool - black screen

    Hello

I'm having a problem with my (relatively) new - an ASUS laptop UX - 21F. It worked very well for the first three months, but only in the last week has crashed several times on me with a BSOD. Unfortunately, Windows (Win7 Ultimate) does not create the memory dump file as it is currently specified to do so. (Yes, I checked, double-checked and rechecked re this parameter.) It simply does not create the image file.) Looking back through the event log, it does not match what is happening just before failure. It seems to be random.
It sounded like a potential RAM for me, so I thought I'd run the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool. I chose restart immediately and... nothing. It restarts, messages and then it is a black screen and high enough system fan wind rising and the system gets hot enough. There is no cursor, or anything like that, and the only thing we can do is to hit the power button (it instantly stops, rather than having to four seconds). When it restarts, the system boots normally into windows.
I tried to access the tool in many different ways and there seems to be no way to enforce. Each way I just get a black screen and a hot computer.
What should I do here? I do a lot of development on this machine and I'm kind of falling ill to endorse things up to four times a day in case it crashes and I lose my job. Should I reinstall the OS and see if the problems go away? Or is there something less invasive than I do?

Download and create the CD to boot from here:

    Memtest86 + http://www.memtest.org/

If you have more than one piece of RAM in it, blow an and boot from the CD. If there are no errors, swap out with another room and boot on the CD again.

Look in the event log at the time of the accident and see what are the entries for error there. This might give you a clue as to what is happening.

Is the ' (relatively) new laptop "still under warranty by any chance? If so, you should also contact ASUS or the place you bought it from.

  • DB face memory pressure and need more memory?

    Hi all

    DB: 10g and 11g

    Need your advice.

We provide the server db use memory and cpu management report on monthly basis.

Average usage of memory the server is more or less the same each month that memory allocated to oracle is capped (for example, memory_target).

Therefore, we will not be able to tell if the memory allocated to the sufficient DB and when does more memory?

We are required to provide a usage report to show that the memory allocated to the database itself is enough on monthly basis and does not need to bulk up.

Is there a good way to provde this?

Our DBs are all OLTP and rarely do full scan.

First thought to provide the trend of BHCR (above 90%, this means memory is sufficient). Read a large number of documents that BHCR is no longer useful.

A better way to do it? Kindly share your experiences.

    Thank you

You can keep in mind what the different parts of the memory.  The SGA is a shared resource, which includes the areas of code and data, and even those who can interleave in pressure of circumstances.  The PGA is determined by the use of the users.  The trend of the latest versions of Oracle is spending more major requests for data at the PGA, but which cannot affect you much if you're like really OLTP, as you describe (which one silent report or batch could blow).  So really, after getting the right CMS, the PGA is more likely to be affected by the increase in the number of users.  Mechanisms of the target to be fairly stable systems (as well as assignments of similar resources carried out by reasonable operating systems) translated well enough glancing SGA and PGA advice and after it.

Using the resources on a system close to their means of amount maximum, there are times when performance will go downhill fast, simply because of a resource to bite.  (For a good time in mathematics, see the white paper to think clearly on Cary Millsap's performance.)  These types of problems can come from many sources, if a regime change, hardware malfunction or a simple increase in its attendance.  Those who dance near the line will inevitably have to step on it, or some such maxim comes from jurisprudence.

So the desire of the management of the Non-becassine-hunt is to anticipate and avoid such problems without too much purchase hardware or compulsive, disorder of tuning.  The idea is to make an analysis of trends which allows to predict that an increase in its attendance will make things down a steeply, to do what is necessary to avoid it (or at least expects).

Oracle has a report to do this?  Not really.  There are too many variables and too many ways to use and abuse a system.  Most performance problems are SQL issues.

What you can do is to simulate accurately the workload on a test system, increasing its failure.  This as an exercise in iterative parameterization can give a good idea of what settings are required in order to maximize what you can use and an idea what kind of use will start demanding more material.  For a well designed system, it can be as simple as looking at the number of users and uses of the pga.
