  If you have any other printer\scanner connected to the computer, disconnect them and check if it works.

  I suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the scanner to the computer, also make sure that you install the latest drivers for scanner on Canon website.

  Think the process explorer.exe as your office.  If it does not work because the file is missing, you will have no office or the taskbar, or start button until it runs, so you need to replace.

  c:\windows\explorer.exe file should never be missing.

  It is even difficult to remove on purpose since it's a protected Windows file.

  You haven't told us your situation Antivirus antimalware software, but I suspect whatever it is (effectively deleted) quarantined your explorer.exe file.

  Since it is a protected file, there should be a copy backup of the file in this folder:

  c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

  or, depending on your installation, you might find a copy in this folder:

  c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

  You must use the Task Manager to click file, new task, browse... and navigate to these folders and search for a backup copy, and if you find the explorer.exe file, copy (Ctrl-c) and paste then copy it (Ctrl-V) in the c:\windows folder where it belongs to replace the missing file.

  Since it should never miss, the backup copy may also be missing, so I put one on my SkyDrive do you can download (sinus your Internet Explorer works) and replace the file c:\windows\explore.exe.

  I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

  When you see the files available for download, you will not see the extension of file (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, etc), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

  When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, it cannot save the file with an extension (for example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

  You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called explore when the name of the file should really be called explorer.exe (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

  You then put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

  That may not solve all your problems, but at least you will be spending this part and we can then fix the rest.

  You could also get a copy of explorer.exe from a working system and copy it to a floppy or USB key and use the Task Manager to browse replace the file (in two places)

  When the file has been replaced, use use the Task Manager to run this command again:

  %windir%\explorer.exe

  (%windir%\System32 is the c:\windows folder)

  How is it now?

  If it looks good, reboot and then run these scans:

• USB ports won't work no-how to get around this problem

  I think burning the two USB ports on my old iMac (2006). In my view, that an external CD drive caused boredom (since the CD on the iMac is also out of order). The machine booted fine without the USB keyboard and mouse. Also, it connects to my laptop via an ethernet cable, so I can exchange files between them.

  Little, that I'll try to find a way to work on the iMac, perhaps with a wireless keyboard/mouse. Some startups, the office started their research with bluetooth, but - what I read - probably wired keyboard/mouse, click on the dialog boxes.

  There seems to be a truth well worn in Captivate (I use v5) as no clickboxes or links are allowed on master pages, and that the only solution is to put them on each page. I have 6 files with a total of 200 or several pages - I don't want to be sticky laboriously links to each page. Is there a better way to do it, a way around the problem "no clickboxes or links allowed in templates? Otherwise: I already have clickboxes on all pages, but I want to change the old link for each clickbox to a new link which is the same in all cases - no manually going through each clickbox, but change them all at once if possible. Search and replace would be great if it worked for that, but does not find and replace "See" references link to clickboxes

  Yes, it is indeed a bone of contention hackneyed Captivate does not interactive objects on master slides.  Something we hope meet Cp6.

  If you have access to the skills of Flash and AS3 script, optionally create a SWF file or static widget that can be added to a master slide.  This object would then be able to have clickable areas (buttons in Flash) linked to external URLS.  Make them a link to the slides of the same project is also feasible.

  If you want to be able to change the URL of destination of a number of navigation buttons or clickboxes suddenly, so instead of creating the URL in each interactive object, I would suggest you set up a tip Action with the specified URL and come to get other objects at all perform Action Advanced.
