• 6.18 crashes on Mic selection

  After the upgrade to 6.18 and without other changes Skype crashes at startup. After full uninstall and reinstall I reduced to the mic input.

  Exactly what the title says. I did EVERYTHING on the title page, and yet it will not work. Curiously, it uses the same MICRO webcam but not the camera. I run this last update of Skype and vista.

  First try to uninstall all software from CyberLink Youcam. Also, try turning off video Hava devices.

  My built-in microphone made me sound like I was chewing on snails. I reinstalled the sound drivers and finished with ONLY and WITHOUT microphone sounds, it seems be separated micro motors. I heard someone reinstall the webcam as it is related to the micro, but now the webcam works only sometimes. He lights up a bit on this little thing of racing cars, but it does not appear on the face recognition at all.

  I've also upgraded to Vista SP2, I uninstalled the webcam and sound, but they were just reinstalled automaticall with no microphone.

  I am confused on this.

  Have you tested mic with headphones?

  2 have you made any changes to the computer before the show?
  3. have you installed a software for webcam?

  Step 1:
  Open Device Manager and check the status of the devices:
  For most imaging devices under the control of hidden devices if you see peripheral imaging in hidden devices in Device Manager.
  Check the following link to see how to open Device Manager:

  Now, in the Device Manager window, try the following steps:
  a. click view , and then click on on show hidden devices.
  b. now, search for imaging device right click the device and click on Properties.
  Let us know if any error message in Device Manager.

  Also look for micro and check the status.

  Also, try to download and install the driver for the webcam and drivers of micro from the manufacturer's Web site and check if it works:

  All advice appreciated... before I go buy an external logitech.

  Problem was the same as other posters... a webcam connection drop under the screen.

  Removed from power and the battery, remove the bezel, noticed small gap about... disconnected the cable reconnected, tiny cozy.

  Electric connection, tested webcam and microphone... both work.

  Power removed, back off.

  Sill would like to know about the drivers.

  Right click the speaker icon in the notification area and choose: Adjust Audio properties.

  Or: Control Panel, sounds and Audio devices.

  Volume tab: click Advanced under Speaker settings and open the drop-down list for the speaker setup and choose your speakers, click on apply.

  The problem is - my microphone and webcam microphone worked fine until this morning from yesterday. The night before I was talking with my friend on Skype and then went to sleep. When I woke up - input mic webcam and mic were not working.

  Thanks for the quick response!

  According to the information provided in your post, I advise you to follow this document on the use of the Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 7). This should restore the drivers software and hardware of origin provided with your computer. Once the software installation is complete, please follow this document on using the HP Support Assistant to update your system drivers.

  For the component XP from your computer, I recommend later in this document on the no sound (Windows 98, ME and XP). This should help to restore the sound on the side of the XP for your operating system.

  I have a Dell 1545 running with Vista 64 and Dell Webcam Central for the web cam. I experienced a lot of problems with the web cam. The web cam would not work & then wouldn not audio. I would like to record a video & there is no sound. My microphone does not work in the voice, or the cat. If everyone knows this problem... I found a solution that worked for me. The problem is that Dell Webcam Central installs it's own microphone settings on your portable computer called something like Webcam Dell Live!. (the exact name I'm not sure because I removed from my system... but if you follow these steps you will find. Look for something with Live! in the title under MIC) this is not built into the microphone in my laptop, & perhaps not yours. You must change the settings of your computer system & Dell Webcam Central. Go to start > Control Panel > sound > recording... on mine, there is an option for Microphone "High Definition Audio Device"... which is built into the microphone. You who want your default & apply. Then open Webcam Central Dell & option go to the "video recording". In the middle of this is a button orange with a video camera icon. Next to it on the same button is a little arrow pointing down... Click on that. Under micro... Select Microphone "High Definition Audio Device" like the sound option in the Panel. I did & it's completely fixed. I can use my built in mic in the audio/video chat & record videos with sound.

  Looks like the internal MIC is hidden, please right click stereo mic and selecsee the t disable devices then turn on the internal Microphone array

  for me. get the Dell webcam audio work properly necessary get the right combination of

  settings in the sound section of the control panel and its article IDT Control Panel.

  are the settings that worked for me

  playback of sounds-> speakers/headphones (IDT high definition audio codec) defined as peripheral by default

  speakers Yeti defined as Ready

  registration-> reading record set as default communication device

  Yeti of microphone as default device

  Reading IDT = speakers/headphones put as the TWO default device reading & communication

  record play rec = set as default in common with input device = listening thru talking/CASQ

  micro set as default recording with input device = listening thru talking/CASQ

  Finally on adjust system volume speakers and webcam attached to 100 sys sounds and rec play together at 0

  hope this is useful to someone, as it took me a while to get the right combo of settings
