Microsoft agreement

I'm trying to re - install Windows XP.

When I get to the page of the Microsoft contract orders work except F8, to accept the terms. When pressed nothing happens.
Can anyone help
Thank you very much

Check your keyboard carefully to see if there is an F LOCK key. If it does not exist, try another keyboard.

  • To convert a new Win 8 PC Win XP PC w/Ffx 28.0, is Ffx 28,0 v. keep? If not, then v. and when and where to install the conversion?

I will be the conversion of my PC for 9 years with the victory. A new PC with Win XP. 8. my list of program control panel tells me that my old PC running Firefox 28.0 (x 86 en - us). I need to be sure that Firefox 28.0 is your latest version and that I should go to my new PC (it seems to be so many versions out there that it is confusing... in one place you say version 17 is the only one to use). If I do not need to install another version of Firefox, I would need to know that one, and that it must be installed on the old computer first, before changing the PC, or anywhere elsewhere in the in the conversion sequence, that is, on the new PC before (or after?) transfer everything from the old PC. I intend to transfer to new PC software free LapLink offered for us the current XP users through a LapLink/Microsoft agreement.

Yes, Firefox 28 is the current Windows XP or higher version.

I'm not exactly sure how works of Laplink, but assuming that he transfer all your data from Windows user profile, then you should bring your Firefox to your new computer data. You can confirm by checking here on both computers and comparing what you see:

(paste into start > run or WinButton + r): %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\

In particular, make sure that Laplink copied the profiles.ini file and folder profile and its subfolders.

I suggest you copy the data in the first, then installation of Firefox. In this case, when you install Firefox it should automatically find your data and you will be running. If you install Firefox first, then you will need to take some additional precautions to get your old data in.

  • Qosmio E15: How to upgrade Media Center 2002 SP1 to SP2?

    Hello

My Qosmio E15-AV101 was shupped with Media Center 2002 SP1. I did the automatic update from Microsoft and also downloaded the SP2 package. Still, the upgrade process fails. When I'm tired, I contacted MS technical assistance for the reason my Media center rejecting the upgrade. Microsoft replyed than the version supplied with Toshiba and other equipment manufacturers are customized to match the hardware manufacturer full compatibility.
    Quote:
    "
Notes of this part of the OEM and Microsoft agreement is to allow Original Equipment Manufacturer support for the products they have installed on a particular computer. The agreement was presented only the OEM often change and pre-install Microsoft software on their computers to ensure compatibility and to take full advantage of your computer s hardware. This means that the OEM has expertise on your Microsoft software on your computer in particular works.
    "

So, is the solution to my problem. How to upgrade?

    Hello

First of all it is a user to user forum and you won't find anyone from Toshiba.
Secondly, as far as I know that your device was designed for an American market and if you are looking for drivers or updates you must use a Web from Toshiba site we:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_home.jsp

If you have any problems with your unit, so you must contact the ASP (authorized service partner Toshiba) in your country.

As far as I know that Windows Vista is not official on the market. Maybe the end of the year or next year.
I can t believe that you are not available to install the updates. I checked a few comments and Microsoft updates have always worked.

As I suggested at the beginning if you have some problems with your unit has so contact the service of Toshiba.

  • Windows xp will not install on hp mini5101.

I try to install win.xp on my netbook with a cd of hp., when I start computer it begins loadin win.xp.
It loads all the way until it arrives to the microsoft agreement it freezes and the only way is to escape and start allover

The problem is your Mini a SATA and XP installation CD does not natively include the SATA drives...

You could enter the BIOS and temporarily disable the SATA interface mode and do the installation or you could take your current XP installation CD, download the right SATA drivers you need HP and use something like nLite to combine the two to create a new XP installation CD that uses SATA drivers built in (it's the idea of 'better').

After implementing the best idea, you'll have something really useful and you can book your original XP installation CD.

When you did, be even more proactive and also install the XP Recovery as a boot option Console so that in the event that one day your system does not start, you can begin the RC and fix.

Oddly enough, the people of HP have the same thoughts, if you read this thread in their forums:

  • My Documents: A way to stop this, to be the default destination?

Whenever I want to record something XP 64 bits by default in My Documents.  It's lame as it isn't even a place, just a shortcut.  Its nothing.  And its buried in countless subfolders.  So is it possible to get my system of brain damage if nothing else?  How Windows developers could choose this system, it is mind-boggling.  Who wants a destination which is really nothing?

Well, while I can see some of your arguments, I think other aspects of your difficult to fathom messages.

To some extent, Microsoft agree with you. That's why on Vista and Windows 7, the folder structure is now (by default)

    C:\Users\\Documents

There are now separate folders for other types of document (not subfolders of the Documents)...

    C:\Users\\Contacts

    C:\Users\\Desktop

    C:\Users\personal

    C:\Users\\Favorites

    C:\Users\\Links

    C:\Users\\Music

    C:\Users\\Pictures

    C:\Users\\Videos

    C:\Users\\Saved games

    C:\Users\\Searches

For me, XP and Vista/7 structures are logical and I do not see why oppose you, especially having in mind that you can change this structure to be what you want it to be. If the application developers do not provide the customization you would like that is not the problem of Microsoft (unless you're talking about office of course).

Personally I don't see what the problem with the shortcuts as they are the ones you create for yourself or those integrated.

On XP there are subfolders under My Documents that also have shortcuts for my music and my pictures, and my videos that would normally be the default locations for apps that work on this particular file type. The fact that they have been moved to the top level on Vista/7 is not important for me.

The Documents and Settings folder is not just a place for the default My Documents folder, it's a place for a lot of other information 'by user', i.e. information and the parameters which can vary among users of any given PC.

If you don't like it (or the structure of Vista/7) my only suggestion is to have a Word with your local Apple store and see if you like how they do things.

  • Why Windows Vista Media Center Program Guide stopped working

I've been using Windows Vista Media Center as my main way to watch and record the TV, music, and Photos for a few years (shortly after Windows Vista came out).

Since January 1, 2013, the program guide showed no data.

I believe that this is because the Microsoft agreement with the broadcasting of the Data Services to the United Kingdom is exhausted.

What is Microsoft doing about this?

Can what steps I take to restore my Media Center if you work?

    Hello Nikki Locke,

That's great, that you have found a solution. However, you can view the following information.
Please see the thread below because there was a problem with the program guide in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It must be corrected. If not, let us know.

  • Battery "connected, charge", but DOES not charge.

    Hello

I've recently updated in Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium.  With Vista, my battery played very beautifully and I've never had problems.  As soon as I have upgraded to Windows 7, I currently has the following problem:

When I hover over the battery icon in the system tray, it says ' 19% available (plugged in, load).  However, the battery is not at all.  The small farm level animation stops and, although the system seems to thinking that is my battery charge, it is not.  When I first installed the new OS, battery charges to 69% with the same problem, so he went up to 75 percent for about 1 week before in free fall, so that now my battery charge limit is 19%, which, as you can imagine, takes about 15 minutes to the battery power.

After several redundant and unnecessary communications with Microsoft, I thought that maybe someone on this forum might have experience with this problem or any suggestions on what I could try.

Note that it is NOT apparently common problem some people have with the battery saying "plugged in, not charging", that my system is specifically stated the battery recharges when it is not.

It took me some time to get even Microsoft agree the problem they insisted that it was because my battery is a bit old.  However, this happens with the two batteries that I own, using a charger that I have, and, as I said before, it started just when I installed clean Windows 7.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Ryan

  • Slow NAS using Explorer file copy

I have a network home gigabit. Based on a linux NAS (qnap), 3 win xp & 2 win 7 ultimate.

NAS is the centralized storage for all media/files of all these computers.

Copy/access to the file of XP machines is perfect. But Win 7 is dead slow. Connected to the switch with Cat 5e cable, I get 100 Kbps (not firewall & no other activity on the network). Overall, when I get desperate and let him finish at the speed of the miser, it ends at all.

All the drivers are up to date.

A couple of PC are old, but the two that I bought in the hope of getting rid of this slow access are all new i5/i7.

I read a lot of posts on the net on various fixes. I also tried a few, but no result.

Please don't not/response theory on storage cards post / / speed/network access hard disk etc.

I read everything and I'm tired.

Yet once, in my setup NAS box isn't a problem. Works perfectly fine with XP.

Network card is not a problem. It's because using an ftp client to copy files from the NAS, I get a good 50-60MBPS (YES on the same PC WIN7, for the same files. It is not for a single file. I have FTP'd about 1000 100 GB in size (big and tiny files included)). But this speed only lasts until I open Windows Explorer. As soon as I did this, the speed drops to a crawl. So if I want to get all files in the NAS, I have to restart Win7 and ftp before you open the Solution Explorer.

Read all the messages on this SAME forum, there are hundreds of cases where this has been reported. And I haven't read a SINGLE instance where Microsoft agreed, that's a problem with Win 7.

Personally, I keep not if Microsoft accepts or not, BUT after making a lot of money off the coast of their customers, I would expect Microsoft to CHALLENGE this as soon as POSSIBLE an automatic update.

After writing this monologue, I'd wait for the moderator/decision-making people in charge to answer WHEN WILL THIS GET FIXED.

After spending $ 2000 on the hardware to find out that there is a problem with WIN7, I was more sober and more civilized write this upward.

For the rest of the team, I hope that my FTP autour work is useful to someone in desperation (like me).

    Hello

    I also have a NAS.

Only that my SIN is Windows Home server, and it works very quickly.

    Speed (see here), http://www.ezlan.net/vista/Giga-Optimized.jpg

    It is 70 MB/sec (B = bytes).

You call that a problem with Windows, I call it a problem with Linux (the old story of chickens and eggs).

  • can I sell my oem windows 7 + motherboard and all original coas, reception, media

I have genuine oem version of windows 7 with the media, receipt of payment, coa, box, manuals .i have used the product in the motherboard. Now I want to sell it because it is of no use to me I go to computer laptop .i sell it with my motherboard.should would it be legal to sell? can I he switch to the commercial version and thn sell it?

As a new OEM software retailer should not be sold directly to an end user, even if the conditions are not well defined, and I've never seen personally any absolute statement that Microsoft agreed this transaction, although actually they now allowed with Windows 8.

What the question is here sells a USED package. This is specifically covered by the EULA that I quoted and is allowed only with the hardware. As I said I don't know the laws that apply in your area, but in this case, it would usually be a tort. By installing the software in the 1st place the EULA has been accepted and which has been violated, the fact that it was initially proposed with eligible material and the buyer asked that the software is called mitigation no justification and should be tested in court.

Piracy is a criminal offence and is completely different, it is covered by copyright. The offence is pursued by the authorities not by the owner of the software, they only charge. What you described is not piracy, as the software itself is not illegal. I still think that the process you described is questionable and returns to pseudo-legales intimidation. Many companies use letters from lawyers in the hope that the recipient will acquiesce without that he actually tested as the case would fail. I will answer the lawyer clearly indicating that the refusal of payment and specifying the circumstances of the original transaction which demonstrates the fact that the buyer knew very clearly the terms of the original license.

  • How will I know if my new laptop has Windows 8 Pro

I bought two Dell systems.  One was the M6700 I knew had top Windows 8 Pro and I installed Media Center with the Microsoft product key sent to me.  I went back to the system due to SIGNIFICANT and costly Pro Tech support.  After 26 days, they refused to fix the screen would dim every 3 minutes, saying: "if he wasn't a yellow bang in Device Manager it was not their problem.  The last day, I accidentally found a Dell program that controlled the graphic setting called color Dell Premier.  I decided to go back to the workstation even though it was a great system.  I didn't look forward to 3 years technical support useless and frustrating to a value of $350.

A month later, I bought an Alienware technical support personnel system is so much better.  I worked with them for years and never had the problems I had with the support of Corp.

Since it has been a month and I had just finished a factory on the M6700 system restore, I felt that I would have been able to use the product key for the Media Center.  However after working with a Microsoft Tech today for an hour. He seemed to feel that the Media Center button would not work on this system for two possible reasons. 1. what it cannot be Pro Windows 8 or 2. The key somehow was not removed from the M6700 after the factory restore.

So before having any contact with Pro support, I would like to know how I can tell if this system or does not have Windows 8 Pro.  I don't remember if the Windows 8 Pro showed in the system information report.  Or if she could be considered under control panel - system.  I tried to run the update on the upgrade assessment and who has failed for some reason, saying: it was not available in my country.  What is the United States.  It seems that the system is configured for which English is the language.  Given that I didn't get through a full installation of Windows as if I installed the program as you would if it was Windows 7 system comes through a Microsoft Agreement which I checked and then configure the network online and I logged on.  I was not even given the opportunity to choose the name of system I need to change.

I'm a little lost at this stage to say the least.  If Microsoft technology could not tell if it is Windows 8 Pro, do not want to assume that the OEM support would be.

I have the disc that came with the M6700 and I it matched with the disc that came with this system.  Both drives have the same part number and both claim it's for Windows 8 Recovery Media for Windows 8 products.

So it is a Question of two parts:

    1. How will I know if I have installed Windows 8 Pro &

    2. How can I get my product key Media Center back?

    Thank you for your support.

  • I just got an email saying: "we have updated the Microsoft Services Agreement...". »

It's in my junk e-mail folder.

Why is this email in your junk mail folder?
Microsoft SmartScreen classified this as spam.

I find it rather ridiculous. Why Microsoft Security would identify their own message as spam? A customers need to know?
It seems legit to me, but I'm not clicking on one of the links until you verify that it is from Microsoft.

I received a notice from Microsoft, a services agreement MS update.

He arrived in my Inbox, not the Junk folder. I use Windows live mail as my email client.

I would say that your problem is an isolated case. Might have something to do with your settings of filtering of the mails.

    The e-mail is legitimate.
