Microsoft Lifecam vx 3000 - recipient not able to hear the sound

I installed the LifeCam as stated but my recipient can't hear me.  We see each and I hear them, but they don't hear me.  Could someone please help.  I'm not really savvy in computer science, but I try.  Thank you.

1. Click Start and click on Control Panel.
2. click on sound, then a new window will open.
3. in the new windows, click on the 'Registration' tab and right click in the window and click Show disabled devices.
4. now check if the Microphone is listed there and right-click on it and choose activate.
5. Select the Microphone, and then click "Set as default".

    I have upgraded to windows 7 and I'm trying to re - install my LifeCam VX-3000 but wen I do, I get a message indicating the cam "does not work" and "the program will close." I installed the drivers supplied by microsoft (LifeCam 3.2) and nothing. I even tried to re - install disk but it says that it was not compatible with windows 7 (it was LifeCam 1.4). So now I have a webcam that I can't use yet is supposed to be compatible with Windows 7.

    I was using XP before and had the same problem, update drivers exactly the same problem has happened then so I had to stay with the drive, but now I can't do same. Any help to what to now please?
