Microsoft Malware

Windows 7 Home premium, HP laptop.

Skype was initially introduced on my laptop via a windows update got an email today saying my version is deleted, so I need to update.  Following questions:

(1) as Microsoft dumped this product on my pc, why not come not updated via windows updates?

(2) to be a little safer, I started Skype and updated via "check for updates", instead of using email.  It seems to have updated but I had to uncheck a bunch of boxes offering to do undesirable things like MSN my homepage and bing make this my default search provider.  Hope that I unchecked all.  Always had to accept Skype could do auto updates.  Sort that turns off?

Not a fan of apple, but begins to understand why Microsoft is in such trouble.  Maybe Linux?

Try to connect to Skype,

I hope that's what you want (I think?)

At the start I only get an option to press F1 from F2 to go to the configuration. Niether contributing.

I have no icons anywhere, but I managed to download microsoft malware remover

I had the same problem that I had no files, I took and downloaded from Symantec.com its NPE tool and ran it rebooted and deleted the wrong file so I typed in the search box system restore and resembled a date earlier and restored on the eve of the attack. Then I got most of my files back I noticed that the images and files appeared not I tried to screw them through properties and version previous but then realized that they were still but hidden, so I went not hidden my files hidden, then I got my documents but if you see that they are there , but blurry you will always make a right click, properties and to view again. I then to the low load MRT Microsoft security essentials update removal tool, ran a disk check. The only issue I'm having is program as my TurboTax does not work properly even after that I removed and reinstalled but everything else is fine.

  • Received a phone call about Microsoft Security Essentals scam

I got caught in this scam. I received a phone call and allowed access and paid by credit card for the technician assumed to install at a price of 210 euros microsoft security essentials software and another program called registry reviver.

I was taken because my laptop was able to test reports errors and at times he would go blue and then to restart and so I fell for the scam. They were very professional and answered all quries that I had.

Please tell what should I do now and what they might do with my information.

In my opinion, I had to cancel the credit card used to make the purchase and see if you can return that money to the CC company. Then I would run a full scan using Microsoft Malware removal tool.

    I hope this helps.

  • Huawei has installed a malware during the installation of the drivers for the wireless modem: tips to remove the registry keys?

    Huawei sd usb storage

Applies to: Windows | Windows Vista | Hardware and drivers

A month before, I let a co-worker install a modem Wireless USB as Huawei to use my laptop somewhere without wifi service.  Subsequently, I uninstalled the software drivers because I don't think I'll ever use this modem again.

Now, I noticed that there are several registry keys for different devices of e/s as:
    Huawei_sd_storage_usb
    and
    Huawei_some other drive type

None of these registry keys can be deleted, I get an error saying that "year error occurred during an attempt to delete the key.  Same thing if I try to write data in the registry key.  This behavior resembles a persistent virus and not a register legitimate supporting a legitimate PnP device.

I then rebooted in safe MODE, thinking which should pick up anything the malware is hung.  No go, same thing, cannot remove the key and cannot modify the data in the key.

None of the malware scanners were able to detect this, including:
    Paid last AVG
    Windows Defender
    Microsoft Security Essential
    Spybot S & D latest
    Malware Microsoft Fixit

I don't trust Huawei, and what look like these keys are to monitor my laptops I/O activities through any player or the USB port.

    HP DV5t-1000 CTO
    Pentium dual core 2.54
4 GB of DDR, Home Premium Vista 64

I'm moving your question on the forum of Windows for material and the Drivers. These are the registry keys related to the legitimate drivers provided by the manufacturer of the device and are not related to malware.

Note, however, that you have an overload of running security software and some should be deleted. If you use Microsoft Security Essentials, you must disable Windows Defender in Vista and AVG should be removed, preferably using the AVG removal tool. I have no idea what is the Microsoft Malware Fixit.

You should never have more than one security product installed on the PC, providing active protection / scan. This can cause performance problems, system instability and may adversely affect the effectiveness of these two products to provide protection.

  • HTML/crypted. Gen

I keep getting random detections when using firefox. It happens at random times when I go to several different websites, including msn.so.uk and youtube.
The AntiVir Guard appears, sometimes those of several pop up at the same time. It is said that the location is C:\Users\ (name) \appdata\local\mozilla\firefox\profiles\0hx9b20k.default-1411137696774\cache2\entries\A719F3A50F260517B3A92A319000B1F4E63F50D3

Says that it contains the model of the HTML HTML/Crypted.Gen script virus recognition.

(there are also an other detection which pops up, the same folder of cache2\entries, but a different number. It has a different HTML / boss of recognition, but I cannot remember exactly what he said. It is still. Although the general)

I have the options to pass to the quarantine, remove, rename, deny access and ignore. No matter which of those I select it comes back. If I check the box down low"action for this file (dangerous)" and select one of the above he always comes back.

I searched on google, microsoft and mozilla site to find a solution. I ran several essentials of Avira Security and microsoft full scans. And runing both microsofts malware analysis (all ran in and out of safe mode). None of them find any problems at all.
Some information that I found was telling me to clear the cache etc, I did this as well as reinstall firefox.

Hoping someone may be able to help eliminate this problem.

    Thank you

Sometimes a problem with Firefox can be a result of malware installed on your computer, you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP, if you do not already have one.

  • Pavilion p6610f Desktop: software blocking Wifi transmission

Pavilion p6610f Desktop 64 bit Win 7 Home Premium SP1.  I had problems with the buffering and freezing in my browsing on the internet. I contacted my Internet provider after doing all the clean to the top of my computer that I knew how to do. After an hour or two with the agent to remote access to my computer and them telling me that everything was going well at their end, I asked why the icon Wifi in my taskbar shows only two bars on a possible 5 when my computer is right next to my Wifi modem? I was told it was probably a software interfering with the Wifi transmission.  I ran Microsoft malware and adware programs removal & Ms. Mr. Fixit.  I have MS Security Essentials and have not all problem reports.  My provider Internet telling me the truth?  Is the lack of Wifi reception with software that I can't find? I looked in my programs & features and does not see all unauthorized programs may have snuck in and I deleted some. The only thing that is new is a HP Envy 5660 all-in-one that is set up wireless.  It has been suggested that I have reformat my hard drive and reinstall the essential programs to see if that helps. But, acckkKKK!  I don't want to go through all that again! I did twice before and have installed two others had readers since I've owned this computer and don't want to if not necessary!  I thank in advance for your time and your knowledge if you decide to advise me.

    Hi there @TY965

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that you are getting a signal strength wireless low, despite the close proximity. I'm happy to help you with this.

In some respects, being too close could be part of the problem. Because of the arrangement of the devices, it could be that the receiver on your desktop does not receive a clear signal, due to the metal in its framework. I suggest moving the router wireless in the location and see if you can get a better signal. This page has also some other useful information which may affect the strength of the signal.

How to get a better Wireless Signal and reduce interference of wireless network - howtogeek.com

If that does not help or make a difference, then you can try looking at your system itself. Start with the next page, and if there is no improvement, wok your way through the other sections, I have included, until it is resolved.

  • Windows Update not working do not Error Message and Windows Defender cannot update Error Message definitions

I have a laptop Dell 1501 with Vista Home Basic 32-bit.

I ran CA 2010 Security Suite and you have scanned for Malware with regard to the Windows Update Error Message. He found none. I ran Microsoft Malware malicious tool, and it found. I ran Windows Defender and he found. I don't have CA and Windows Firewall to protect my computer and I have disabled both in trying to solve this problem of Windows Update and Windows Defender.

I got this error 4 days ago. Here is what I tried:

-I went on various Web sites, including Microsoft Support - and tried to solve the problem through services.msc and msconfig.exe. None worked.

-J' noticed in msconfig. where it says start waiting next to Windows Update. There are 3-4 elements, which are affiliated to Windows Update and made sure they did not exist in the registry.

-J' have to ensure that they were supposed to be automatic or manual under services.msc.

-J' rebooted several times and nothing changes.

Windows Defender does not update the definitions, and I do not know if this coincides with the release of Windows does not.

I am at my wit's end and do not want to crash and burn my computer.

I need serious help. Please, I beg you!

    Thank you.

I had to call Microsoft. Alex tried to add registry keys and input upgrade.

My Windows Update has almost been altered. It could be my mistake or it has become corrupted when running other services at the same time.

I was sent a Windows 7 Home Premium Disc to upgrade and start over, as my Vista disk was corrupted as well.

I would not recommend trying one of the suggestions listed on other sites. It's my personal opinion because I have in the past and it worsened my problem.

I also wouldn't delete all programs (unless absolutely necessary) because I remove 4 MSMXL and he made their work more difficult.
