  Your Volume license is still active? If Yes, then you should have access to Volume License Service Center (VLSC) where you can download Windows 7 Professional 64-bit volume license media as appropriate. The same product key used to activate Windows 7 Professional 32 bit should work with the 64-bit version. Everything you change is the architecture.

• Possible corperate corrupt or expired license for Windows Xp PRO

  One time, I bought a laptop with the already downloaded software.

  Recently I went down load new software and it would not complete itself, said something to the effect of some file was missing.

  I then in the Xp Pro updates in the hope that it would fix the problem.

  Once there, Microsoft has verified the legality of my software and poster possibly my software has been corrupted or the coperate license has expired. For the life of me I don't know who it is, is that I am not very computer.

  What is the brand and model of the laptop? Is there a sticker Microsoft Windows certificate of Authenticity on it somewhere (usually the bottom)? If so, what version of Windows is listed? XP Pro, HP or something else?

  What was the exact message that you received from Microsoft? Note that there is no such thing as a "showing" for Windows license.

  Did you buy this laptop of opportunity by chance? If so, it is possible, there was once a version of volume license for XP Pro, which has since expired.

  I have a headache from reading this Microsoft 'Windows licenses for virtual offices' guide.

  I'll explain my current scenario and hope that one of you nice people can clear this up for me lol

  In my office, I have about 300 computers Dell desktop / laptop. They are running Windows XP or Windows 7. The operating systems are installed by using the OEM Dell CD/DVD.  Now, I have installed view 4.5. I have a need to create VMs of Windows XP and Windows 7 VMs. currently, as is obvious, I am not a license for the installation of operating systems on virtual machines. I thought that we can purchase volume of Windows XP and Windows 7 licenses and be done with it. So, I went to my boss and asked him to buy and he hands me this guide and said that we must buy VDA licenses for $100 each.

  I just went through this guide and what I came out it was, if we buy 100 thin clients, to buy 100 licenses VDA, for $100 per year!  It's all great and everything, but I still need a license key to install Windows XP and Windows 7, and I don't want the end user to activate windows, so where am I supposed to get these license keys of? We expect use Linked Clones and QuickPrep, if really the parent need virtual machines need to be enabled, I guess

  Sorry if it came out stupid, but I've never dealt with before OS license. I've never had to since Dell has always provided a cd/dvd of BONE that could not be activated. I really don't understand this.

  VDA will give you the keys to Windows that can be activated with the MAK (for some machine) or MKS (this is your case, and you must also deploy a MKS server for this purpose).

  Another solution, instead of the VDA license, is to normalize your platform and Add Software Assurance on your client. This gives the right to have for each customer according to ITS a virtual office (without additional VDA license).

  You don't have a volume license to install on only 2 machines. Who is covered in any license to the standard retail with 2 activations. Volume licenses have meaning if you need more than 5 or 10 licenses, respectively, depending on the product.   To take advantage of volume license, you must purchase a volume license agreement that gives you the right to install Windwos 7 Professional or Enterprise according to the terms agreed between you and Microsoft. You can not simply convert the existing volume license licenses because you have the eligible license. Volume License Windows is an upgrade and requires that the machine is an appropriate license before you can use it. There are more than just the software volume license since you go to an agreement.
