Impossible to move iTunes for a ringtone m4r

I bought a song and it reduced to 29 seconds and changed the extn in m4r on MY laptop.  Then, I sent the file to my father if I could load it on HIS iPhone SE for his ring.  I'm on the ringtones folder in iTunes (12.4.0.119) and I'm trying to drag in the download folder to iTunes and it won't work.  I tried to manually add the tones in the Windows Explorer folder and that does not work either.

Any suggestions?   His laptop is Windows 7, my laptop is Windows 10.

Thank you

Junebuggnc

Has been the extension .m4a before you changed it? Drop the file in < Media folder > \Automatically add to iTunes. If iTunes like the file it will be moved to the folder of tones and added to the library.

  • Could not import the music downloaded from iTunes for Windows Movie Maker.

Could not import the music downloaded from iTunes for Windows Movie Maker.  He plays in Windows Live Movie Maker and plays on my computer.  Cannot find the codec. Tried the solution to this same question and in help.

    Hello

Some audio and video file formats are not supported in Windows Movie Maker and cannot be imported. However, if you have a video or audio file that is not taken care of, you can use a non-Microsoft video editing software to convert the file into a format supported by Windows Movie Maker, and then import the video file or an audio resulting in Windows Movie Maker. Some files also require you to install a codec before you can use the files in Windows Movie Maker.
Note: The use of third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • Need simple explanation - move iTunes library to new PC

I'm looking for a simple explanation of the functioning to the iTunes library to MOVE from one PC to another. The current/old computer will go far. KEY: need to keep notes of the song and playlists.  The last time I did I lost the scoring for thousands of songs and lost all the selections.

    Old computer is Windows 7

    New is Windows 10

Is there a software that will do this for me?

    THANKS FOR THE HELP!

    • Where appropriate, consolidate your library so that all media included in the library are stored in iTunes standard media folders
    • Copy the complete library (whether as a result of the default values of iTunes, this will be C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes) from the old PC to the location on the new PC
      • If the library is small, if would be possible to copy over a network or using a USB
      • for large libraries, use an external hard drive as an intermediate storage device
      • Although the Windows copy and paste standard functions ' should be enough, third-party utility (I use Terracopy), or the method described in the user tip of turingtest2 on the backup of your iTunes for Windows with SyncToy library, may be more resistant to errors possible/interruptions during the copy process
    • If you have already installed and launch iTunes on the new PC, you need to overwrite all the files/folders is already present in C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes (this implies that you haven't added all the new PC which is not present on the old media).
    • Now launch iTunes on the new PC - the method described above ensures that data from the old PC iTunes (which is where are stored all your playlists, ratings, etc.) is available on the new.
    • An additional advantage to do this correctly, is that the new PC has now a physical copy of the same logic of the old library, so all iDevices will see this 'the same' library and you can continue the synchronization operations without risk of deletion of the device.

Downloaded iTunes for PC version 12.3.3 (which shows in my downloads as iTunes6464.exe)

But when I try to install the package I get an error message saying "you cannot install this program on a PC. Contact the Publisher of the software. »

  • ! Difficult problem!  Move iTunes songs to the empty folder to automatiquementala

    Hello everyone.

It's my frist time write a discussion here, desperately looking for your help

I checked the other similar discussions and I can find none, that has the same problem as mine.

Anyway... my iTunes is updated and therefore my iPhone 5 s.

I've always used automatically add them to the iTunes folder to add music from my iTunes library.

(after that music has been transferred to the ' automatiquementala file it IMMEDIATELY disappeared, but the song was in the iTunes library)

One day, as I noticed a few circles on the left side of my songs in the iLibrary. These songs were not playable, and whenever I

sync my phone I got (100errors) that the songs could not be transferred to my phone. (Song couldnot be used because the original file cannot be found. You want to locate)

Even if I wanted to move each song, I would choose the automatically add to iTunes folder (BUT ITS EMPTY). I can't find the music anywhere on my hard drive.

I gave up those songs and decided to download again them once I find the time.

Recently, I backed up and restored my iPhone 5 s. After I restore, I noticed that a lot of my songs did not appear on her

(those who did not appear in the iLabrary too).

Today I decided to download all these "missing songs" and it took me at least 3 hours. All happy I've put them in the damned automatically add to iTunes folder, plugged my iphone with itunes and sync. After syncing I started testing in my iphone and I noticed that only 20 of 70 + songs were on my phone (most of them was gray and unplayable, so I resynced, that did the trick). But other songs were not there! I checked my doomed automatiquementala file once its empty and I don't know what to do with my life haha

Please guys, help. And if you can do it step by step, because im not really a pro with computers

and other things (btw im using a Windows 7 or 8 I think haha)

The folder add automatically to iTunes acts as an area of "file" for users (and other software).  When the files are placed in add it automatically to iTunes they will be handled by iTunes (immediately if it is currently running, otherwise next time that he istarted) and added to the iTunes library.  The files placed in add automatically to iTunes will be moved to the standard locations within the structure of library iTunes, determined by:

    • the iTunes Media folder location setting in Edit > Preferences > advanced, and
    • the values of metadata in media files are added.

If you use the default location of folder media (C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media) then your files will be moved to folders named according to this model:

    • C:\Users\ username \Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music\ artist \ album

The only exception to this is the case where the indicator 'Part of a compilation' is defined in the media files - the names of standard folders will then be:

    • C:\Users\ username \Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music\Compilations\ album

If you have selected the option "organize files...". "in Edit > Preferences > advanced files, if necessary, is renamed to use the disc number, track number and the name of the song as a basis for file names.  Very long folder/file names will be truncated to 36 characters (which can have strange side effects if you have two albums whose names only differ after that limit exceeded - you end up with a folder containing two album titles).

After the addition of new media in your library, the add automatically to iTunes folder must be empty: the only exception is when the media files are in a format that iTunes cannot handle or the files are corrupt: in this case, you will see a subfolder "not added".

In your case, it seems more likely that the files have been added to your iTunes library you or another piece of software has moved or renamed multimedia files, or that the disk on which the files were placed is no longer available on iTunes.  If you can post (using screenshots of preference):

    • Your settings in Edition > Preferences > advanced
    • The location held by iTunes for one of the tracks that cannot be located (for this, right click on one of the songs display next to his name, select Get Info, when you see this message (of course with the name of your song "disappeared")):

Click on no, then click on the file tab - the location information that is held in the iTunes database will appear at the end of the list in the window, starting with "file://localhost", like this:

Then it should be possible to diagnose your problem and propose a resolution itself.

  • Move iTunes to new PC - Double whammy!

OK, here's the situation, that I'm facing:

-My PC starts to happen slowly so I decided to replace the old SSD with a new SSD with a new install of Windows 10 in lieu of Windows 7

-C' is very good BUT it wasn't the old SSD that was not it was my drive HARD main "Data".

I still have access to the old SSD on my iTunes library files and some of my music (i.e. everything I bought through iTunes) AND also have access to the rest of my music files which are of CD rips (vast majority).

ALSO, I have all that backup NAS which I use to play my music via Sonos.

Here's what I want to do. I'm starting over, I would like to launch iTunes of the NAS, disk not the in my PC. I know it's possible and I find articles on 'move iTunes on a NAS' but this is a new installation. Also, I want to use my old iTunes library files of the old SSD and not having to spend the incredible amount of time it took me to get iTunes to my taste, i.e. "sort by" fields and so on.

Can someone here help or point me in the direction of a place that can help. I really want to PAY a lot of money to have someone do it for me.

    Dee (nr Uxbridge, United Kingdom)

See make a library of portable split for techniques to manipulate a working library in the form of portable. I generally recommend an external drive connected locally as the main location of your library with the NAS acting as a backup. Certainly, you should not rely on the SIN as the only copy. If the copy of your database is linked to the defunct data drive, but media are available to some other path then I have tools or techniques to get reconnected both.

  • iTunes for Windows 10

I use my iTunes account successfully (ie download, sync iPad, iPhone, etc) using Windows vista with update iTunes 12.1.3.6 as this forum says. I recently bought a new computer Windows 10 basic and I want to continue to use iTunes on both computers. My question is when I download iTunes for the current version of Windows 10, that I will be able to connect to my iTunes as usual on the other account or both, computers and download, synchronization, etc., but OE will I need to do something else?

Migrate a library iTunes from one computer to another

These are two approaches that work normally to move an existing library to a new computer.

    Method 1

    1. Save the library with this trick of the user.
    2. Remove the old computer if you no longer wish to access content protected on it.
    3. Restore the backup to your new computer by using the same tool used to back it up.
    4. Keep your current backup in the future.

    Method 2

Connect the two computers on the same network. Share your folder from the old computer and copy the file wholeiTunes library in the folder on the new. Yet once, remove the old computer so is no longer necessary.

These two methods should give the new computer, a clone of the library work which was on the former. What about iTunes is it is still the 'home' for your devices library you should not have problems with iTunes will erase and reload.

I recommend method 1 because it establishes a current backup for your library.

Note If you have iOS devices and that you have not reached your contacts and calendar all in all items, then you need to create a dummy entry in your new profile and iTunes expected to merge existing data from the device.

If your media folder has been separated in the main folder of iTunes, you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a library of portable split.

If you are in the unfortunate position where you're able to access your original library or a backup and then seerecover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device to get tips on how to configure your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

  • I run 10 64-bit Windows and I have used iTunes for years. iTunes installs OK, I disable Norton Firewall during installation. iTunes starts OK, but when I try to access the store down ¾ of the page turns black

I run 10 64-bit Windows and I have used iTunes for years. iTunes installs OK, I disable Norton Firewall during installation. iTunes starts OK, but when I try to access the store down ¾ of the page turns black, the upper band has Taylor Swift and a few small icons to the bottom of the page. If I type Perry Como, in the search box, the page does not change.

lysdexic01, I know almost exactly what you describe on my screen of iTunes Store recently updated for Windows 7 64-bit. Only difference is that the icons in the black box are invisible until I move the mouse above them, their location by trial and error. Once activated, the icon remains visible. Each found icon flickers at first, but stops flashing if I pass the mouse over it.

I think that the store is now functional and useless for those of us experiencing this problem. Other users have reported that their iTunes store screen flickers since they updated iTunes to the latest version, but most did not mention the area big black screen that you and I see.

So far, Apple seems not to believe that there is a problem with the software to update iTunes. It is therefore important that users continue to report these problems to Apple that there are enough complaints for attention even during a week of office party.

  • I haven't used itunes for some time and now have a new PC.  I've updated my account (change password) but when I connect to my music went?

I haven't used itunes for some time and now have a new PC.  I've updated my account (change password) but when I connect to my music went?  I am working on Win 8 and still have part of my collection on an ipod.

Unless you subscribe to iTunes game (which is not a complete solution anyway) your iTunes Library is on your previous PC - solution the easiest is to copy from here or from a backup.  For more information, see How to move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Support .  Previous purchases from the iTunes Store may be available for re - download - see download your past - purchases of Apple Support.

If none of these approaches allows to recover the contents of your library, see user turingtest2 on recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device library for a list of tools and methods that can be used to copy the media etc from iPod to iTunes.
