Microsoft Windows 7 KB2454826 update

When this update has been installed, the PC has restarted and I go into Windows Explorer,

in my FAVORITES folder, if I try to open any icon (for example, My Computer, System folder etc)

I get the following message appears.

"This file doesn't have an asociated with her program to perform this action.

Create an association in the Folder Options Control Panel. "

THE TITLE IN THE ERROR BOX IS FOR WINDOWS. EXE

PLEASE HELP TO SOLVE!

Thank you very much!

Thought I should put this thread to an end... I had to reinstall Windows and the problem with the files in Windows Explorer not recognized, went.
I then could accept KB2454826 as a Windows Update and everything worked since.
There was obviously some gliche in the system which the re-setup got rid of, but I can't explain the solution in any other way.

    Hi Desmond,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum. I really appreciate your efforts to solve the problem.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

You receive an error code when you try to install KB3000061? If Yes, what is the exact and complete error message you get?

This problem can occur because of corrupted Windows update registry files. So, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:
Troubleshooting of Windows update run and check. Please follow these steps:

    a. press Windows + W keys, type Troubleshooting in the search box and press ENTER.

    b. click on 'show all' and then click 'Windows Update'.

    c. click 'Next' and follow the on-screen instructions.

If this does not help, then use method 2.

    Method 2:
Delete the corrupted registry entries and then try to reinstall KB3000061. Please follow these steps:

    a. press Windows + R keys, type regedit into the run window and press ENTER. The Registry Editor opens.

    b. navigate to the location registry entry to the following address:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WINEVT

    c. remove all registry entries in "WINEVT". Right-click on the entry, and then click 'Remove'.

    d. close the registry editor and restart the computer.

Now try to install KB3000061 from this link:
Update security for Windows 8 for x 64 systems (KB3000061)
    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=44447

Note: Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

  • Microsoft Windows Explorer 8 update: KB967715 constantly reinstall OS - Windows XP

I rebooted my computer Dell 4 times and after I reload everything...  The Explorer of Windows 8's and automatic updates...  The history shows KB967715 as file being properly installed... but after I reboot - windows Explorer 8 automatic update attempts to reinstall the KB967715...  As I said I have formatted the hard drive, it rebooted from scratch, and the only problem I have is this stupid 'Auto Run' KB967715 problem... • Microsoft Windows 7 KB2724197 update fails to install on laptop HP Pavilion G7

HP Pavilion g7 - 1033cl running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 with all the previous updates applied

With that of the road here is my problem.

The 09/10/2012 when I stopped my laptop for the night, he told me it was going to install 14 updates of the OS. Usually this isn't a problem so I let him do his thing and went to bed. When I turned on the morning, he went through his usual thing to get updates. That night, when I went to bed he told me that he had 1 update to apply, so I let him do. The next night the same thing happened, he had 1 update to apply. That's when I checked and he tried to apply the same update from the previous night, in fact, he tried to apply 1 updates the 14 from 09/10/2012.

It's already happened and the solution has always been to uninstall the update and reinstall them one at a time. It is time very trust because most of these updates will require a restart so to uninstall them and install their and it takes my laptop 3 or more minutes at the stop (my wife's cell phone bought at the same time takes less than a minute to stop, but I digress).

If that's what I have to do is there a way to uninstall all these updates at the same time? (who will save me at least 13 reboots)

Or is there something else I could try?

BTW: If I try to install KB2724197 now it comes up with the message:

    Errors:

Code FFFFFFFE Windows update encountered an unknown error.

    Get help with this error

The "get help with this error" is interactive and takes you to a list of 30 options with all the known error codes (but not FFFFFFFE, I guess it's because we don't know).

  • Microsoft Windows force an update to 8.1

Let me start by saying that I've tried 8.1, it ran as garbage on my laptop (my laptop 8 works fine). Each couple sleep would freeze just the modes and the computer. I tried everything and nothing works, all failed. So I downgraded to the operating system that treated me well, stock Windows 8 (which provided with the laptop). But today, I noticed that a message would jump saying he would upgrade to Windows 8.1, it gave me the option to delay what I did. Late at night, I open my laptop and get a similar message, but oh would you look at that now I don't have the choice. I now have the opportunity to do "Now, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours or 4 hours." I paid for a computer in Windows 8, 8.1 not, not the future 10 and certainly not for his predecessor 7. I want a way to solve this problem! And believe me, I know that the Windows 8.1 constant crashes to corrupt my computer. I want a solution for this! And is not the fault of the computer (Dell) factory, it's a matter of Microsoft because it's your operating system.

I have many facilities update unresolved that failed, of which several have been labeled 'critical' is it possible that these updates were for windows 7 instead of my program which is the version of microsoft windows vista 6.0 over a few more numbers after that.

Try to download and install manually by download on your desktop and install them one by one. Insert the number of KB to get updates on the right and choose the one corresponding to your version of Vista: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx.  It is not possible for Windows Update in order to send updates for the wrong operating system (but I can't go further and say that it is impossible, even if I never heard talk of such a thing).

If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 and then make the facilities.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. What are the differences between Windows updates and automatic updates from Microsoft Updates?
While Windows Update provides updates specifically for Windows, Microsoft Update expands the service to download and install updates for other software from Microsoft, such as Microsoft Office and Windows Live. Update automatic is a feature that allows you to configure your PC to automatically download and install updates using each service, making it easy and convenient for you to keep your current Windows PC.
