• WebHelp for a Lotus notes application?

  I got to produce an aid package for a new internal application built around a Lotus Notes dabase. Users are on a large network with Unix, Microsoft, Domino and Novell components. They all use Notes for email and shared databases. And, of course, they use Web browsers, and many other applications not built in Lotus.
  
  Anyone had this experience? What is the best solution?
  
  Forget the help on the ground. I want to have a help button on each screen that displays the appropriate topic, preferably in the format complete tripane., our way to Web-based applications.

  If it IS, have someone get in touch with IBM Global Services in Boulder, CO - they have a lot of things re: Dominio and Web pages.

  I didn't have to do something special... everything has been done in html and stored in Domino by its structure. I've had many nested "subdirectories" but no problems. Everything was accessible by browser on the Web with no processing server - side everything was daily html that the browser is concerned. The only thing you need to know is the URL 'House' where your work is accessible.

  If 100% internal / intranet and all the pages are rendered in Lotus, roughly the same applies except that you will need to test any dynamic functionality and scripts.

  If the ADMINISTRATOR is all good, just give your project generated download in Domino.

• BlackBerry Smartphones Lotus Notes none of 'available desktop applications.

  I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 (Telus) and that you have installed the latest Blackberry Desktop Manager via download from the RIM site.  I also updated the OS to the latest version available.  In both cases, the installation disc has proposed update of the OS with the Blackberry Desktop Manager.

  Once I connected with my desktop via USB, my curve is recognized by the Office Manager.  I am able to load and remove programs, etc.  However, I can't synchronize my data in Lotus Notes as Desktop Manager doesn't even recognize Lotus Notes as part of "Office available applications" with which it will synchronize.  Indeed, the only 'desktop' that are recognized are '', "ASCII importer/exporter" and "Yahoo".

  I use a plain Jane Lotus Notes client version 6.5 on your Windows XP desktop.  The Office of the OS has all XP service packs and updates (updates to the interminable!).

  As a temporary measure, I use a free trial of Companionlink to synchronize my Lotus Notes contacts, calendar and tasks with my curve.  CompanionLink works as an add-in for Office Manager.  There is, however, no syncing notes notebook with the intimate Lotus Notes of Journal database.

  I much prefer my curve, but have been spoiled by the simple way and reliable mNotes synchronized my Lotus Notes data with my old Treo 700 p and my old Windows Mobile smartphone.

  Is there a solution?  Does anyone else have this problem?

  Turns out the problem be that my installation of Lotus Notes is not the location of my Lotus Notes data files in the Windows registry.  The solution is Blackberry Support Document KB11410.  Before finding this document, I had uninstalled Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.6 and installed Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.2 SP 2 so that completely reinstall my Lotus Notes Client 6.5.

• Cannot pin Lotus Notes shortcut/EXE to the taskbar

  So I looked all over the web and I saw all kinds of solutions to fix the axis to the taskbar issues, but none of them have worked or applied to me.  I have the IsShortcut value in the HKCR\lnkfile key, I didn't remove the arrows on shortcuts and I can pin what seems like all other applications in the taskbar.  If I hold the SHIFT key while clicking, I can get the PIN to the Start Menu option, but I can't get the PIN to option from the taskbar anywhere, I try and I can't drag the link there.  I noticed this problem after that I uninstalled and reinstalled Lotus Notes (I had pinned it to the bar tasks previously).

  I think I found a hack of sorts to get something out there, but I'd rather have my system works as it should instead of this hack.

  I wish I could provide a detailed response, but I fixed it somehow.  After you have uninstalled Lotus Notes, I went through the registry and delete anything that referenced notes.exe or Lotus Notes.  I just installed Lotus Notes again and I can't seem to pin it to the taskbar now.

• P2V for Lotus Notes Server?

  There is a demand to perform a P2V for a Windows Server 2003 server to Lotus Notes.

  Just would like to ask your advice what is the procedure that I have to take to avoid a major problem at my company.

  Perform a synchronized P2V and instruct converter to stop Notes or services. It will do so just before synchronization. If you can afford - schedule synchronization in off-peak hours. Users can use the computer source during the conversion.

  You can also schedule synchronization as not final, test the virtual machine, and then perform a final synchronization. The service will be stopped before the final synchronization only.

  And of course - no not decomission the source machine to that you have verified that everything is OK with the new virtual machine.

  I'm new in ThinApp environment, I hope someone can help me with a headache ThinApping Lotus Notes 9.0, here is my scenario:

  ThinApping App: Lotus Notes 9.0

  Capture Machine: Windows 7 x 64 on VMware Workstation 10.0.2

  Test computer: Windows 7 x 64 on VMware Workstation 10.0.2

  After the construction project and to test the application of thinapped it works fine until that opening any PDF file attached that brings the freezing point of Lotus Notes 9.0 and adobe reader (XI) two apps answer before killing adobe reader process "AcroRd32.exe".

  I tried to capture app in WriteCopy and mode of fusion, capture whitin outside domain machine, machine of capture with the local administrator account, capture and machine with the domain administrator account, but in all cases the result is the same, does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

  I thought that Lotus would have extracted the pdf attachment in the file folder before opening it, but it doesn't seem to be the case. Lines above are running in native mode, not Adobe Reader process virtually so its process is not able to access the content in the virtual bubble (this is why you have this error message with Adobe Reader).

  Try the following:

  -Remove the tray sand

  -Remove these lines from the package.ini:

  ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions = AcroRd32.exe

  ChildProcessEnvironmentDefault = virtual

  - Recompile the application (file build.bat)

  -Open Adobe Reader

  - Go in Edition > Preferences > Security (enhanced)

  -Uncheck "Activate the Mode protected at startup"

  -Click OK

  -Close Adobe Reader

  -Try to open a PDF with Lotus notes attachment again!

• Conflict of Lotus Notes

  There is a clear conflict with CC (the application) and Lotus Notes (v 9.01). I say obvious, because if the Notes crashes (for example to save an attachment), if I go into the system tray and leave cloud Creative Notes immediately "unhangs."

  I don't know if this related, but Photoshop seem to have a problem as well when I open Notes.

  Adobe is aware of this conflict? Is there a fix/workaround?

• How migrations (El Capitan) not come to the photo library?

  I want to use the Migration Wizard to move my user account for my MacMini BUT put the photo library on a separate hard disk from the system drive.

  My MacMini has two internal drives, the library is huge.

  The MacBook (early 2008 - running Snow Leopard) old a MacMini (late 2009 - El Capitan cool running).

  How migrations (El Capitan) not come to the photo library? It seems to only be set for the entire account.

  If I do this, put the library on a separate disk. How to use Time Machine to back up the library?

  The separate HARD disk transfer photo library, and then delete the disk that you are migrating.

  Time Machine backup disks all connected, unless you put them in the list of exclusions.

• Migration assistant did not what I expected

  I set up my iMac 5K and installed Photoshop and Office of the COR.  I used Migration Assistant, thinking it would be the best way to transfer my iTunes from my old Mac Mini Library. Now, I have two accounts on my new iMac, HLP from my old Mac Mini and HP the new account, I just put in place.  How can I: 1) move my iTunes library of HLP HP and 2) Get rid of the HLP account that I don't want on my 5 K?

  You not use Migration Wizard and Setup Assistant, you would not create a second user account. However, it's water under the bridge. Next time, consider using the configuration wizard and migrate then and not an afterthought.
