• Migrate server DHCP static leases

  Hello

  We currently use an old Mac Pro as a DHCP server, use the latest version of server of El Capitan. Now, we want to copy all the static DHCP leases we have implemented (approximately 120 static leases), so that we can put them on another Mac mini, this time takes up half of the leases for a different subnet.

  I know that the DHCP leases, temporary positions, are saved in a file that you can delete to erase the leases, but I have not found where static leases are saved. I know that you can change in the Directory Manager application, but I need to export them somehow, so that we can easily migrate. A Time Machine backup is not an option.

  Apple's DHCP server configuration file is /etc/bootpd.plist

  The file you're looking for is/etc/bootptab , but it is also possible to set static IP cards in Open Directory itself in the computerssection. If a card is defined in/etc/bootptab it takes precedence over the setting in the Open Directory.

  You can perform the following operations in Terminal.app to get more information

  Man bootpd

  bootptab man

  The file that contains the list of active leases is/var/db/dhcpd_leases

  It's a little ironic that Apple uses the name dhcpd_leases dhcpd is a different program from the competing DHCP server to the bootpd use of Apple program. Bootpd Apple is highly personalized on the original version of the open source to add for example the NetBoot support.

  It's like any other MCU upgrade, the only difference is taken into account for the extra time essentially through a new facility for the first time.  This is because after you install the software, the MCU will restart and set up as a new server of telepresence with no activation/option key and a blank configuration.  It really depends on the speed at which you can get by adding in the license keys and in-depth how you want to be by configuring the settings of the server.  I don't remember exactly how long it took when I tested with my MCUs, but maybe 30 minutes to an hour off the top of my head.

  I am designing a VDI solution and I have a question about the vCentre server that comes with the view license first.  This is a license fully functional vCentre or a watered-down version that allows to manage only the ESX hosts running vSphere for desktops.  I would have a few regular vSphere ESX hosts to the server infrastructure, vSphere for hosting desktops to virtual desktops, but manage all hosts of the vCentre even.

  The vCenter Server you get with a view is a regular version, which can be used to display the VM client as well as view (connecting to server.) server infrastructure Use is limited to the above by the EULA (license agreement).

  If you plan to use a vCenter Server as well as your non-View server infrastructure, you need to obtain a separate license for vCenter Server and hosts for non-View systems to be licensed. However, technically, you can manage everything through one instance of vCenter.

  Hi, is it possible for operations manager to manage multiple data centers? I have two sites, a primary and a secondary and operations manager is currently installed on the main site. However, I can't add the vcentre instance to the other site in order to monitor the environment. Is this possible? Another instance of the operations manager would be necessary? Any comments would be appreciated, thanks.

  -Shut down your virtual machine

  -Move the folder of your virtual computer to another location

  FastSCP do you want to allow to exclude the VMDK and other files from one host to another (if you have no storage of netwroked)

  You need the new ESX host is now click the properties of host and find the data store that you have copied thte VM at.

  Choose 'Browse the data store' and search the .vmx file that you moved with the files of the virtual machine.

  Right-click on the *.vmx file and select "Import" - follow the instructions of the wizard.

• problems of migration between 4.0 and 4.1 and vpshere different server platforms

  I'm having a problem with my migration between vsphere 4.0 and 4.1.  to complicate matters, we are also migrating server chassis.   The migration of chassis is made for FT.  We discovered when planning for FT consultants, we used initially to configure the cluster FT, specified servers and chipsets that were not capable of FT.  They were Intel Xeon 53xx series.  I use the PowerEdge 2950 servers, those with the xeon 53xx was Gen2 and I am replacing them with PE 2950 Gen3 with proc Xeon 5430

  The problem, I'm running is now that I put in place a PE 2950 Gen3 in the cluster, I cannot vmotion for her.   Whenever I do, I get the following error:

  the thing is that I can't seem to activate CVS as options I selected do not include processors that I have in my servers.  all processor options don't list any of my processors.

  I tried seting the mask CPUID 1 VM and migration, which worked, but is completely unrealistic, because I have to stop every VM to do and some systems that need to migrate are essential.  I tried setting the mask corresponding CPUID at the host level and who does not at all.  I must have missed something simple or fell on a rather massive bug!

  I'm trying to improve my server vCentre 4.0 to 4.1.  I am migrating from a 32-bit server to 64-bit with a non-local database (SQL 2005 SP3).

  Running through the datamigration tool, I get to the point where the vCentre installation began & try to upgrade the database.  The mistakes of process with "SQL Exception that is thrown during the execution of script"

  Get the following lines in the VCDatabaseUpgrade.log

  Error: Unable to run the command: create a single cluster VPXI_DEVICE_COUNTER_INDEX on dbo index. VPXV_DEVICE_COUNTER (entity_id, device_name, stat_id)

  The exception: ERROR [SQL Native Client] [SQL Server] CREATE INDEX failed because the following SET options have incorrect settings: 'ARITHABORT '. Verify that SET options are correct for use with indexed views or indexes on computed columns or query notifications and/or xml data type methods.

  Perhaps because of ARITHABORT option is not set on IT. Can you let me know what level of compatibility of the BDD corresponds to?

  You can find it right click of the db, choose property, then choose the option, it's the 3rd option from the top

• Automatic VMotion on server failure

  I have 3 servers in a test environment, I would like to configure these auto vmotion on a hardware failure:

  example:

  Server1: 3VMs to host

  Server2: host 5VMs

  Server 3: host 2VMs

  If say Server1 failed I would Server2 and serveur3 to take in charge the VMS of Server1.

  This require the enterprise version? or the advanced version would be sufficient? I believe that to do this, you need the distributed switch, which would point to the version I need to be more firm. a person couldn't confirm this please?

  Also is it possible with HA? I guess this would be a requirement on all the ESX servers hosting the VMs HA.

  Or y at - it a script that can be run to check if a server is alive to tell the server vcentre and migrate to another ESX physical server failure?

  1. you need VMware HA rather vMotion for hardware failure a.k.a unplan shutdown

  2 VMware HA required correct vCenter license depend on your ESX talking

  3 VMware HA does not need dvSwitch at all and just classic switch

• SBS2011 Server 2012

  I've been looking for a SBS 2011 Standard on the migration Server 2012 Standard document and not having not much of chance.

  Is anyone aware of any restriction/warnings to know.

  I guess the SBS server will check hourly so are has the FSMO roles - and is not - stop moving roles FSMO would be the last step. However, added a current standard server 2012 in the field as a secondary school for AD/DNS etc - is that this will cause problems - such as the closure of 28 days rule?

  The main reason we want to have the new 2012 standard servers in the field is to start migration from other servers such as web services, etc. off before moving to the Exchange and the sides AD things.

  Any help is very appreciated.

• Can I move datadrives from a Windows 2003 server to a windows 2008 R2 enterprise server? Both servers are edge power Dell T610

  We are migrating Server 2003 to 2008 R2, Enterprise Edition.  I have the OS loaded and ready. However, the Server 2003 has almost a 1 TB of data, that I just wanted to know if I can get the readers in the new server and everything would be ok. If readers present themselves as foreign, it can be fixed, but I'm worried how 2008 will see readers.

  1. logically, it can not be followed from the point of view of database. Since when we migrated to new server we can just copy the data files and take the help of rman and migrate (hope you are aware)

  We strive to migrate to Web ADI ADI. Currently, we are in an analysis and test initial stage, so we have to show the feasibility of a migration.

  As a first step, our goal is to go and live with integrity between Web ADI and Integrator GL & f models.

  Our version of the EBS product is R11.5.10.2. Our operating system is Windows 7 with IE 8 and we are using MS Office 2013 32bits.

  So far, we know that there is a patch to apply due to the compatibility between EBS R11.5.10.2 and MS Office 2013 32 bit (I read the Doc ID 1077728.1() [7 ORS 11i (Patch 11i.ATG_PF.)] (H.Delta.7) users must apply Patch 18402183 following its readme]

  We need to know if a person made this before migration (from ADI to Web ADI R11.5.10.2) and what issues/patches you have.
