Mirroring of the ports on Dell PC 6224

Hello

I'm trying to implement Port Mirroring on a PC 6224.

The Setup Guide, I read 'You can configure several ports as source ports switch and port of a switch as a port of destination.'.

But when I try to add a fifth port source port mirroring, it returns the message "no port source more can be added."

session mode 1 #monitor console (config)
Console (config) #monitor session 1 destination interface 1/g24
Console (config) #monitor session 1 source interface 1/g1
Console (config) #monitor session 1 source interface 1/g2
Console (config) #monitor session 1 source interface 1/g3
Console (config) #monitor session 1 source interface 1/g5
Console (config) #monitor session 1 source interface 1/g6

No more of source ports can be added.

Console (config) #.

Someone has experienced the same problem? Is there a limit in the number of source interface?

Thank you

Hello

The number max of ports that can be configured for duplication of port is 4.  I am always checking if change the firmware will allow more to be configured & will report once I have this extra info.

Let us know how it goes

  • Port mirroring for the uplink of 10 GB of PowerConnect 6224

I need to take a copy of the traffic over a 10G fiber link. The amount of traffic on this link is less than 1 Gbps.

I am considering using the mirror port on a PowerConnect 6224 for this function. However, I don't know if port mirroring also works on the links to the top of the switch.

Anyone know if a port 10G uplink on the 6224 can be mirrored on one of the 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports?

  • Session of the monitor on the chennel Port in Dell P6448

    Hello

I use Dell P6448 is my access switch with router on a stick architecture. There is a port-chennel between the dell switch and interfaces of the router LAN. Now my requirement is I want to sniff all traffic passes on this switch chennel port end and he mirrored to a free port. It is once I have set the source interface 1 moonitor session? It offers the possibility of physical interface only and port-chennel1 cannot be specified there. Secondly if we try the physical ports in the interface of the source of the session monitor command it gives an error that this port cannot be used as a source interface. I use 3.3.1.10 Image.

Thanks for the help in advance.

    Ashok Dhaktode

There is a limitation of the port mirroring. A port channel cannot be the source of a mirror, which includes physical ports in the port channel. You will find that if you get rid of the channel of the port of the individual ports will be able to mirror.

  • Port Mirroring a LAG on stacked Dell PowerConnect 6248 s

    Hello

It is possible to port mirror use as a source, a SHIFT, consisting of 4 ports (2 in each Member of a set of 6248 s PowerConnect stacked). Whenever I'm trying to add the source, using GUI, I get an error:

Error! There not together "Type" with "Tx and Rx" error occurred in FILTER_MISSING

    This allusion is what filter?

I can't select a spring, unit 1 or unit 2, members of the LAG, like the gui only shows them not from the ports drop.

    Thank you.

Unfortunately, the switch is able to mirror individual ports as source ports. You can check this by trials of establishing a mirror session where the source port is not part of a LAG.

  • How to access the management of VLANs with a different virtual LAN (Dell powerconnect 6224)

    Hello

    DELL powerconnect 6224 reference.

I want to access the management of a different VIRTUAL LAN VLAN.

The management of VLANS is 100 of VLAN. not the routing

My computer is vlan 60 (192.168.60.10) and I want to connect via ssh or http (192.168.100.1) to manage my switch.

Thank you for your help on the command line

The management of VLANS on the 6224 is not routable. So, you will not be able to access VLAN 100 from any other VLAN. However, you can manage the switch from other VLAN IP addresses. So if VLAN 60 has an IP of 192.168.60.1 you can http and ssh to it. And if the VLAN routing is enabled you have access to 192.168.60.1 on the other VLAN.

    See you soon

  • Reference Dell Powerconnect 6224 DVLAN-mining (Q in Q)

I have two sites, one is our data center and the other is our office.

I want to be able to access the data center to the office network, I need access for 2 VLANs, the ISP has already installed it is fine for this and now there's only the part configuration

At the office, there is a PC5548 and data center, there is one PC6224.

Office on the incoming port configuration is:

    tengigabitethernet1/0/1 interface
    switchport mode trunk

The port for outgoing data center conf is:

    interface ethernet 1/g22
    Description "TELEV6RK".
    switchport mode general
VLAN allowed switchport General add 3000
    dvlan-tunnel mode

This does not work, how do I configure ports, do I have to configure all ports or only 1 port IDE oucederomsurlesecondport 5548 and 1 on 6224?

I got an answer from Dell technical support, on how to do it:

    1. If the marking through ISP is different from DOT1Q then you must change it on the two switches using the command global dvlan-tunnel ethertype and options there are (dot1q, vman or custom)

2 port 1 and 2 must be port trunk who accept only the 3000 VLAN. Here are the ports that are connected to the ISP.

3 ports 3 and 4 should be dvlan-tunnel mode configured on them and configured as switchport access VIRTUAL 3000 LAN mode. These are ports that are connected to switches that are for production at both sites.

4 ports 5 and 6 on other switches must be configured as trunk with tagged VLANs you want to transfer through ISP in VLAN 3000. These are the ports located on the switch of production.

I hope that now everyone will have its operation :) Thanks for the help.

  • VLAN routing when you use a dell computer 6224

    Hello

    I have a dell switch 6224 with 2 VLANS.

    Management-192.168.1.111/24 Ports 1/g1-1 / g12

    Vlan150-192.168.150.111/24 Ports 1/g13-1 / g24

I have two ports on the router with the ip address to communicate with the switch (192.168.1.2 and 192.168.150.2). Vlan1 works very well without any problems. I can ping from 192.168.150.2 to 192.168.150.111. I set up the laptop with the ip 192.168.150.113 and plugged in the Vlan150 on port 1/g19. I can not ping to 192.168.150.113 192.168.150.2. The traffic is not going through the Vlan150 in the switch.

What Miss me? This is my first time setting up a VLAN on these switches. Help, please.

The laptop is probably sending unmarked packages and so you need to change the PVID on the interface so that the unmarked packages are assigned to 150 of VLAN.

  • "The port is used by another device. Printer does not print.

I have a printer Canon D661 on an Ispiron Dell s 545 under Win XP SP3.  Everything worked fine until today when he leaves the impression.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the printer through Windows and through the uninstalling Canon.

I have downloaded the latest drivers from Canon, did all my XP, updates my Dell updates driver material and restarted several times than I can count in the process.

I've stopped and started the print spooler.

Still nothing will print.  The printer status window insists that "the port is used by another device.

I ran impression of Microsoft Diagnostic tool, he says that's all right.

It is a USB port, as the mouse and keyboard.  Nothing else.  I tried swapping USB ports between elements, no help.

The printer works fine if I plug it into my USB netbook, so it's not the printer.

I receive the error message even if the printer is connected to the office he "belongs" to.

Until yesterday it worked fine, same print network jobs on other computers.

I went home from 11:00 to 18:30 today.  Help?

    Thanks for the reply!

I tried what you suggested, but it did not work.

Finally, I got it going.  For some reason even if it was still installed on LPT1 on that question and two other computers, this computer has stopped working.

I found the installer was not obvious choice to install on USB1 and that was when he started working.

Interestingly, it works installed on LPT1 on two laptop computers when it is connected in fact on their USB ports.

    Thanks again.

    Hi Jeff,

The computer manufacturing must have created a partition on the disk or provided you CD to restore the computer to the way it was when you bought it. If you have a PC clone, then probably you need to reformat your hard drive and reinstall the operating system. If you have an OEM computer (example: HP, Dell, ETC) there is most likely instructions when you turn on/off press F11 or F12 to return the computer to the computer.

Note: Do nothing until you have all of your backup data.

  • [Need help] New Alienware X 51 BSOD when using the Ports of USB 3.0

    Hello world

Today, I received my Alienware X 51.  After you set up the system, I plugged my external hard drive USB 3.0 one of the 3 USB ports on the back of the unit.  The system immediately blue armored and closed.  I let the system restart normally, only to find he Blue filtered and restarted again.  After the third BSOD, I deleted all devices on the computer and let it restart.  It has not crashed this time.  Always plug the devices back to demonstrated that when 3 USB hard drive was plugged into the system, the PC crashed.  I am able to reproduce this constantly: hard drive goes in, system hangs.

I stayed on the phone with Dell technical support tonight, but all they could tell me to do is find another USB 3 device for test ports with.  Since I have none is available, I'm looking at the community of users for more help.  For the record, I managed to extract the files from BSOD dump.  Here is the latest in graphical format:

Anyone seen this before?  My troubleshooting course consisted by uninstalling the driver for the Renesas Electronics USB 3 hub controller supplied with the system and reinstall the drivers using a package available on the Dell (http://downloads.dell.com/Pages/Drivers/alienware-x51.html) website.  It did not work.  I also tried to format the hard drive, but the BSOD persisted.  Needless to say, I am ideas.

The drive works fine in a USB 2 port.  Of course, I am disappointed that I am not able to use the higher speeds of USB 3 port at this time.

Anyone seen this before?  Any suggestions on next steps?  What information can provide this help?

    Thank you!

I am surprised that this post was did not yet a member of Dell since there is a patch to do this, apparently, I had this problem when I arrived to an external hard drive a few days ago
