  There is nothing in my system that uses a modem - recent software has been CutePDF printer, sony ericsson mobile phone image software that has been uninstalled because it did not work (I have not Infra red). Everything else has been there even where it worked.

  Please can anyone offer help - I'll reiterate that everything with the system reports as running OK.

• Try installing acrobat.  Entered the redemption Code and it says that the purchase has not been activated.  Best buy said it has and even included the serial number on the receipt to use for activation.  Still does not work

I walked into this and it says invalid series.  Because Adobe also gives me a redemption inside the packaging code to receive a serial number online, I tried this and it also says inactive redemption code.  I called Best Buy and they say that it has been activated on their end and the issue needs to be addressed with ADOBE.

  1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

  2. to when was the last time the scanner was working fine?

  3. you have any other printer\scanner connected to the computer?

  If you have any other printer\scanner connected to the computer, disconnect them and check if it works.

  I suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the scanner to the computer, also make sure that you install the latest drivers for scanner on Canon website.

  I had sound problems with the speakers on an HP Ultrabook running Windows 8. Sometimes the laptop speakers stop working. When this happens, I go to control panel > sound, speakers (one set to select), select Configuration and Test. After selecting the Test, I get the message device in use. The camera is used by another application. Please close all units are audio playback on this device, and then try again. I went to the properties for the speakers, the Advanced tab and unchecked option "allow applications to take exclusive control of this device." I also used the term sndvol to try to determine the application, but it only shows the device: speakers / HP and Applications: System sounds.

  The only way I could get the speakers to work is to restart or turn off and turn on the pilot for the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. Does anyone know how to determine the application causing the problem? Thanks in advance for your help.

  you go to the website of the manufacturer of your printer and download the latest drivers for Windows 7. Sometimes, if you use a driver that is not intended for your operating system, then your device can operate and install, but some features may not work.

  If they do not have an updated driver, then try the compatibility mode for Windows XP and see if your printer will work correctly.
