Missing DVD

I put a DVD in the slot and hired the slot. Nothing happened so I manually opened the slot. To my surprise, it DVD had disappeared. Is it possible that I have not properly anchor and he fell into a crevasse in the monitor?

Thank you for the additional information.

It is possible that the disc out of the car and be stuck inside the computer.  Here is the 'upgrade and Guide service' to the computer.  There is a section (P. 13) on how to open the case and service drive.  If you are not comfortable with this, you can take it to a qualified, for example, computer store BestBuy.

Hello! I have had my all-in-one Pavilion for almost a year now and discovered pretty quickly that it does not play the DVD or Blu - ray discs, despite saying that he should. I am able to play the music of dics with no problems, however. I don't think it's a big deal then, but now it's starting to upset me and I'd like to find a solution before the expiry of my big computers.

A quick search on google shows me this a fairly common problem, but none of the corrections suggested do anthing for me.

When I insert a DVD, it runs constantly and it seems he stops every 15 seconds before resuming. The disks never appear in my computer as a playable file and trying to force a media player to play the results by mistake. What I get behaves like a folder. I show a folder named VIDEO_TS full of unrecognized file types and a file named desktop.ini

I don't know what to do, this is the reading of the disc but used to play movies. Missing something?

If it's showing a VIDEO_TS, so it is read, at least partially, a DVD.  It could be the playback software is missing or damaged, or the disc is dirty or has failed.  To try the VLC Player for free.  If you really want to check the drive to be able to read a DVD, try Imgburn.  If you can get some info of the DVD with either people, report with the results.

    Hello

You install a version of Win 7 retail or OEM manufacturer on your system?

I had the same problem. The fix was to get into the BIOS and change the RAID SATA emulation.

Doing so allowed installation of Win 7 to continue and install.

  • pilot missing dvd/CD; drive even not recognized by the computer

somehow, when I tried to burn a dvd, (windows DVD Creator) the computer seems to have removed its own driver for the dvd drive (I put the disc in, it recognized that it was not a disk supported, put a new one in the drive, and create dvd windows then told me that I need to install a dvd/cd writer to complete my project). the relase button disk would not work after turning in the second disc and always used to work even after that. If I use a pin code manually to open and put a disk in the light lights up recocnizing there is something in there, but that nothing, not even spin the disc. No cd, dvd or all other discs work. Ive tried a few different driver Fixer programs, even those you pay (mender driver, driver detective - no even to recognize the missing driver) and can't seem to find a solution. cd/DVD device does not even appear in "device system' list or lists of material which must show all devices, programs or drivers... also do not show my E: / in my computer, what would be my dvd/cd drive." I tried the "regedit" and could not find the 'filter filter up/down' you are supposed to remove to fix. " filter of upper/lower case is not listed in the options.

I'm on a hp Pavilion dv6000 and ive tried searching on the site Web of hp and help all forums, with no solution until now...

    Hello

For the CD/DVD problem start up that convenience store and work down to jump
nothing. He is even said to continue if the CD/DVD drive is not displayed in Device Manager.
You are much less likely to solve the problem by a hit or miss approach to try this
or such. And of course, there may be a material cause.

The HP forums, ask questions and I hope that those who have had
the same issues on similar equipment that have solved the issue respond. Only way
to succeed is to give your best effort.

HP does not have a lot of online documentation and help diagnostics on their site and those
could help to resolve some of the questions withour paying for support.

Back up your data on the device and it goes back out of the box state
can be one of the best moves to solve the present problems.

    I hope this helps.

  • Missing DVD/CD ROM (drive E).

I had trouble burning a CD when I realized that my CD-ROM/DVD-ROM has been totally absent. I think I need to install new drivers, but don't know where to find them. I have Windows 7. Help, please!

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

  • Missing DVD/CD after the factory restore (Code 39) Player

    Hey Dell Community!

I recently restored my computer to factory and everything was fine. My CD/DVD drive worked fine until this last time, I rebooted my computer. Now, it is not in my computer and does not have any CD/DVD. In Device Manager the drive is there, but there is a "!" sign next to the pilot.  There is error code I have: "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »

    I have a sony dvd +-rw dw-q58a.

I tried to uninstall the driver and restart my computer. The computer has detected the driver and reinstalled itself, but the same problem persists thereafter.

In several searches on Google, I also noticed that almost every problem of CD mirrors mine, so I don't know that there is a solution!

Thank you very much in advance.

  • Missing DVD decoder

So pretty much I buy another if I want to play DVDs yet? Short and sweet.

Well I wouldn't buy you an and make it disappear or it won't work.

If you buy a record Setup on an external device.

    Try this command:
    Select start > run
Type cmd in the Open box, and then click OK
Type dvdupgrd / detect and press enter

You can also reinstall your burning software that has a decoder DVD inside.

Another thing you can try if you have the CD of the OS is a repair installation.

A repair installation does not remove anything as does resettlement.

  • Missing DVD drive Aspire 5733Z

I have an Aspire 5733Z with a DVD from Toshiba burner in it.  Running Windows 7 Home Premium.  It just stopped working when I started my diet this morning.  The keyboard and the trackpad had stopped working as well.  I used the F8 screen to restore to last good configuration.  It restored the keyboard and trackpad.  But my DVD burner does not work now.  I had before, used to run a live Linux CD and find the post on the forum who advised on the edge of good configuration was last used.

But as I was closing the live LINUX CD, he told me to remove the media from the drive and close it, as I did, then click on system restart, I did.  Once I got into Windows, keyboard and trackpad worked again, but now my DVD drive was not.  I did a google search and went to a Microsoft forum (you are bound to get good advice it right?) ) and I followed their instructions to go into the registry and remove a couple of values - carefully followed the instructions, so I know I have done this correctly.  That did not work.  Then I followed their next step if this does not work, even if I did wrong I think.  Rather than remove the driver, I deleted the DVD in the Panel.

When I realized what I did, I used the control panel to detect changes on the hardware and it reinstalled a driver of the engraver DVD Toshiba but I'm not sure that he reinstalled the right one.  He installed one for a Toshiba DVD-RAM burner, I don't think that this model supports RAM, so it's probably the wrong driver.

Can someone point me to the correct driver to install? Maybe help me to understand this mess? Understand why the DVD does not work?  Windows it is grateful, but the door does not open.  You can press the button on the door will not open.  Right-click on the DVD drive in my computer, and in the context menu you can click on eject - will not open.  Thanks for any help you can give me.

If anyone has this problem, try to reinstall your chipset drivers and remove the DVD drive and reinstall.  One or other of these things fixes this problem for me.

  • Missing DVD/CD player

I am operating XP Professional, and even if I am able to burn and backup my files, I found the other day that my CD/DVD drive has gone completely out of my system. I went into the Device Manager and find that's simply none the case on my computer. I opted to try to reload the drivers, but the player itself will not open one of my drives. Can I burn my data to go back to using Roxio, but reading discs, do not. I downloaded the peripheral FixIt and wen tthru stages and multiple processes I found throughout Microsoft questions and answers... and everything known to man google how to solve this problem, or at least locate that right by car down to remove the filters above and below as one of the requested... forums and restart , but still the player has not reappeared. Help, please! Apart from reformatting my C: I am at a loss what to do. Please don't tell me to reinstall my OS and or reboot. Although it opens and closes, it cannot read a disc at this point. Oh I have drives C, E, F, G, H, I have on my computer and none of them will open the CD, while a disc is inserted. Misconfig, diskmgmt.msc and devmgmt.msc the CD/DVD drive does not lack either...

    Hello

    · What is the number and the model of the computer?

I suggest you to check if the DVD drive is detected in the BIOS and get back to us for the information. To start with the BIOS, you can consult the manual provided by the manufacturer or go to the manufacturer site.

Note: changes to the BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

As you have discovered. Vista Basic does not work
