Missing iTunes Library only on 1 device

After listening to music all day on my iPhone iTunes 6 I exit the application and came back two hours later in an EMPTY library.  I googled this question instructions and saw me go into itunes (MAC or Windows) and try to get back to the previous folder. However, when I pulled up to my itunes on my MAC all my music is there.  On a device (phone), I have an empty, and on another library (MAC) is no problem.  Help, please!

It's strange. Normally, your device will be synchronized with your Mac and will transfer all new purchases on your device when it is connected via the cable of the lightning. If it isn't auto-sync, try to go to iTunes > phone tap top-left icon > and click on synchronize in the lower-right.

  • Missing iTunes library and playlists... Please help

Hello, this morning to my horror, I started iTunes and all my 20,000 songs and playlists, I spent years developing are absent.  Would it be a problem with my hard drive or a disk that allows iTunes search startup files?  I checked the path to the file and it seems that the music is always in their folders however re import all would not get the playlists back and on top of that the last backup I have was from 2014.    Can anyone help

It is possible that your iTunes library file has become corrupted, so iTunes has started up with a new iTunes library.  Or you may have accidentally set iTunes to open a new iTunes library.  If you use the default configuration, the iTunes library file is located in your iTunes folder and called iTunes Library.itl, to this place

[startup drive] /Users/ [your name of user account] / music/iTunes/iTunes Library.itl

NOTE: The iTunes library file is a database that defines your iTunes library.  It contains no files media real iTunes, which are organized and stored separately.

Go to this location using a Finder window; What do you see?  If you see a file called iTunes Library.itl here, quit iTunes (if you run) and use this method to open iTunes using this library file.

If it does not open or if you still get a library empty in iTunes, you use Time Machine to back up your boot drive?  If you do, you can restore your library iTunes from a State of backup file (date/time) when it does not have this problem.  In your case, it would be immediately before the last time you used iTunes with a working library.  Time Machine does incremental backups every hour, so this should be very close to when the problem occurred, if your iTunes library should be updated more often.

If you do not have a backup (why not?) of your user data, look in the folder iTunes for a folder called Previous iTunes Libraries.  iTunes, these backups when there is a major update to iTunes, in the case where something bad happens or the user must go back to a previous version of iTunes for some reason any.  If the last backup of 'previous' iTunes library is not too old, you can use this library file to open iTunes, using this procedure

  • Moving iTunes library to a NAS device for access by a computer windows laptop and a computer mac laptop.

My fiancée has a MacBook Pro and I have a windows PC. We shared a library itunes on his mac, but we are short on space and wish to settle in a NAS. I would like to be able to sync to my iphone via a version of itunes on my windows pc (so I can sync the calendar and contacts with outlook).  He would like to sync his iphone with a version of itunes on his mac, but we want to share a library of music, movie, podcast, photo.  Is it possible that we have a shared itunes accessible by my PC and MAC traffic?

Seems there must be a common thing to want to do but I can't find any literature on this subject.

  • my itunes library sharing

Hi, I wonder if someone can help me? I want to put songs from my itunes library on my girlfriends without sync phone or mess up a phone? She has a lot of albums, but we only have a laptop and it is set up for my phone, is there a way to do this?

    Thank you very much

iPhone used to synchronize with a single library on a single computer, but iTunes library can support multiple devices. Has he been synchronized and loaded with content from another computer in the past? If Yes see Open a different iTunes library file or create a new Apple Support one - if necessary, so it has a separate library, then recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device. You can then add additional content in the library and then synchronize with your phone.

  • Songs deleted from the iTunes library still show on my device after synchronization

I updated my iTunes library and remove several songs.

after syncing my iPhone 5, deleted items still appear on my phone

want to do the same thing at mynipad, but I'm nervous about synchronization.

How can I make sure that the d delet songs are deleted from my device and make sure that all the other managed elements are correctly synchronized?

    Thank you

The following steps should solve the problems around the synchronization, assuming that all the content you want in your library.

(If it isn't see recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device)

    1. Backup device.
    2. Restoration as a new device.
    3. Restore the backup that you made earlier.

NB. A feature introduced with iOS 9 called thinning or slicing app app allows each device to download just the code and resources required by this device, resulting in smaller downloads and a better use of the storage on the device. Therefore the device is no longer the universal version of the application that can be installed on any device to transfer applications is no longer supported. I hope that Apple will bring some changes to how it works, but in the meantime, you can download past purchases from iTunes or activate the automatic shopping app downloads to ensure that iTunes has always the apps you want on your device. As long as you make sure that all of the apps are present and updates in iTunes before you attempt a restore there should be no loss of data. I cannot confirm, but it seems a way to recent update all data are restored and apps that are not in the library are waiting to download from the iTunes Store over Wi - Fi, in a similar way to the restoration of the iCloud way works.

  • I am trying to rebuild my old iTunes library (hoping to keep notes, play counts, playlists, etc.) on a new laptop of an old PC, even if the only files I have to use the old are the .xml, .itl.

I am trying to rebuild my old iTunes library (hoping to keep notes, play counts, playlists, etc.) on a new laptop of an old PC, although the only files I have to use the old are the .xml, .itl and current music files. Is this enough information to do it, and if so, how should I do?

I lost the other information by following the instructions found online of other attempts. I have unfortunately seem to have lost all that concerns my old library with the exception of the foregoing. I have been using an external hard drive to make this attempt. When iTunes opens it is empty, and when you try to import the .xml I only get playlists, although there is nothing inside of them. It would not be the end of the world for me to start all over again, I've not lost music files, but loading in my all of my old info is much, much, much more desirable. Thank you!

I'm sure that the sides are stored with the file of 80%. (wav mp3/4 whatever)---> or at least the should be!

    Just install itunes.

Copy the contents of your old folder in the itunes directory and start itunes--> it will do the rest.

    PS...
However, I wouldn't bother with itunes more... windows media player is pretty cool in 7, does all the same things.

  • I backed up my iTunes library and then wiped and restored my computer the moved my library back and reconnected to iTunes. Now iTunes does not show that the music is on my hard drive. He only sees in the clouds. How iTunes to make my paper copies

I had to restore my computer. I backed up iTunes to an external restore then imported my library back to the original location in my home folder. Then I restarted iTunes with the option key and reopened my library. iTunes is not recognizing that the original music files are on my computer, he thinks that they are alone in the cloud. How iTunes to see the files on my computer?

You back up and restore this way?

  • IPod Classic (and iTunes library) from Windows to Mac

Hey ppl, can someone help me with this one?
My iPod Classic was initially connected to a PC, because I didn't have a Mac at the time. But I an and for a long time, and now I'm about to get a second.
I was put in place with the PC mostly because my iTunes library has nearly 500 stored cd and I use my iMac only for work, I didn't want to fill his 500 GB drive with iTunes library. But now that I'm about to take my work to a new Mac, I thought that it was time to move my iTunes library to Mac, and I did it with the help of an external hard drive.

Now, everything is ok with iTunes on Mac all the CDs and the works of art and library moved nicely.

But when I connected the iPod it syncs ok, but does not receive a new cd that I just uploaded on the Mac.

I have noticed that an already existing CD which I modified the work on the Mac, sync ok for the iPod, but not the new CD. The CD is an original, not a copy.
I think it has to do with the iPod having been registered to another computer. I allow them the Mac, but still the CD is not transferred to the iPod.
I want to get rid of my PC, but I need the iPod to work with the Mac.
Can someone tell me what I'm missing, or doing wrong?
    Thank you

I had checked the discussions over and over again before posting the question and do not find an answer, and now after posting the question, I found what solved my problem - iPod sync fine with the Mac. (to goodbye PC)

"Kenichi Watanabe 26 February 2016 06:04 Re: Ipod connects to itunes, but does not synchronize "
    in reply to Umphreys21

OK, that's fine.  So, just what is currently on the iPod is already in your new library iTunes, correct?

When you start with a new iTunes library and add your existing content, the iPod sees it as a new iTunes library, not the old one that was previously used to synchronize the iPod.  The partners from iPod to your new iTunes library and the Tower WE Auto Sync, follow these steps...

Select the iPod in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to display the parameters of the iPod in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click music.  Settings of music from the iPod screen is shown at right.

NOTE: All iPod songs that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.

Check the box to Sync music.  This turns ON Auto Sync (and associate the iPod to your new iTunes library).  If your library complete iTunes music can fit on iPod, choose the option to synchronize the entire music library.  Click apply.

On a separate note, since you started with a new iTunes library, you have added all your content to your backup, but you probably do not have the additional data (such as playlists, ratings, play head, date added, etc.).  Depending on how you have saved your iTunes data, it may be possible to restore your full (not only your media) iTunes library.  You need to be good with the help of your new iTunes library, but if you want more information, thanks for posting back. »

  • How do I add to itunes library without duplicating files

I have two computers and therefore two local iTunes library. A while back, I moved my iTunes Media on dropbox folder location, like that I could have one place two libraries would draw from. When I got new music I would like to import into a library as usual, and in order to get on the second library I was going to just come to 'Add to library' on the second computer and reselect the same iTunes Media folder. For longer, it would scan this folder and import only new music, however for some reason any now whenever I try to 'Add to library' on the second computer it begins to import duplicates of the entire library rather than just new music. Not sure if I changed the setting on this, or if it is a change caused by an iTunes update? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you add a media to an iTunes iTunes library folder will ignore all media for which there is a reference specific dedicated location in the iTunes library file because it is already in the library. You see all the broken links! = What you say all your old references should all be showing broken links because you see everything add iTunes think it is different from that of the current storage location library tracks.

This is the risk of using something like Dropbox for storing media.  I don't really know what is happening in detail and it is unlikely, that it has nothing to do with an iTunes updated since iTunes behaved this way since version 1.  Sometimes of storage devices what top-level network address needs such as NAS play this kind of question and Dropbox is certainly network.

  • Path missing iTunes Songs (already tried script)

    Hello

recently I moved all of my itunes library to my new computer (Mac-> Windows), I noticed that some songs bad location path, and I discovered that the songs with special characters (like aeioun, Yes, I'm Spanish) are those who have suffered from this problem.

ITunes can't find the songs automatically, said that almost the 2000 song are not and nothing else.

I'm used to manage xml and looked up in the itunes library xml file and to know that these songs with special characters did not alter his path to the new properly, they keep the way old-macintosh, something like "http://localhost \volumes\macintosh\music\blablabla\".

The thing is, I tried out solved with samsoft script, but the suggested path does not match my only current. I saw this script search paths similar to what itunes automatically creates, but in my case, I made my own path model (something like \music\%artist%\%artist%-%year%-%album%\%artist% - track - %title%).

In my xml library I set paths, but when I tried to rebuild the itl file, missing tons of songs and I got crazy once more.

Is it possible to code in hard itl file to replace this wrong paths? It's just replace 'file://localhost/volumes/macintosh/Music' ' file://localhost/D: / Music»

I think about modifying the script samsoft to correspond with my custom path, but I am a junior Javascript coder, and I have no idea how this VBS script works.

    Thank you!
