Missing or undetected printer cartridges

Error message: printer cartridges missing or not detected

The cartridges have been installed in a couple of weeks.

At work yesterday, error message came on the first attempt to print.

Any ideas, other solutions possible? /

Hello

You must call HP@8004746836 to get the printer paired.

Also, I suggest you do a hard reset with the printer.

Hard Reset:

Take out the toner cartridges.

Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall

Wait for 30 seconds

Plug the power cord into the printer and the wall (be sure that the printer is plugged into the wall and not a surge protector)

Replace the toners/cartridges in the printer

Let me know the results

  • Print cartridge missing or not detected

I have a HP Photosmart C4280 running on Windows XP.  Whenever I try to print, I get the message "Missing cartridge printing or undetected"... it seems to be the cartridge three colors, the origin of the problem.  I have taken the cartridges out and then put them, I turned off the printer and then turned back on... the only thing that seems to work is to go into my HP Solution Center, select my printer, select settings, select printer Toolbox, select Services of devices and finally click on print a Diagnostic Page.  Will then and only then the printer print my document - then it prints a page of diagnosis.  I do whenever I want to print something... any suggestions?  I'm wasting ink and paper...

  • Print cartridge missing or not detected C4585

    Hello

I have a photosmart C4585 printer all in one, for a long time, I used hp cartridges-it worked fine until recently when the "print cartridge missing or not detected" message appeared.  I Googled it and found a video on YouTube showing how to remedy this with a particular sequence, which only worked to a print.  Then the error message returned.  I replaced the "truant" cartridges with HP authentic and still always get the same error message.  I am at a loss to know what to do, really can't afford a new printer, my daughters will be lost without a printer for homework!  Please can someone offer me advice?

Thank you very much in advance.

Vinia, I understand that you use genuine HP NO ink cartridges. Usually, this creates a problem at the beginning. Even if you were able to print before, using the correct cartridges is the best way.

Here is a link that might help with this problem.

  • Print cartridge missing or not detected message

Hi - have a HP 4280. I just started to receive message "print cartridge missing or not detected". Have replaced the cartridges with new HPs and no dice. Always get the message. Have restarted printer and still no hemp. Any ideas?

After cleaning, resets, etc., I got to work by installing the cartridges on the tenth time VERY strongly in their slots... I'm sure this isn't the approved view of HP, but it worked!

  • HP Deskjet 2680 print cartridge 60 Black - not compatible

I replaced the cartridge three colors (HP60) both the black print cartridge (HP60).  Exactly the same ones that I took out.  The Tricolor cartridge shows "ready", but I get an error on the black one, saying that the cartridge is missing or incompatible with the device.  Gently, I cleaned the contacts according to the help file.   It is not always recognize the black cartridge.

    TIA

It would be correct to assume that the reset is universal. Are these genuine HP cartridges cartridges or have they ever been filled or refurbished? What I want do you is remove the cartridge that does not work, and with a non fluffy cloth and a bit of water, I would like to wipe the power at the rear of the cartridge contacts (the copper bumps) and the corresponding connections inside the machine. You want to unplug the printer for the second half.

Then back - turn on the machine and replace it. Also, I know that this cartridge is new, but have you tried another cartridge to see if it is the cartridge that is defective?

    Let me know!

  • Print vs resevoirs Print cartridges

I noticed today when buying a wireless HP printer the HP6500A more to hold them instead of a printer cartridge.   HP is going in this direction?  If so, they're going to lose me forever... I went through this with a Brother MFC, several years ago and was not completely satisfied!  I will never own another Brother printer for this reason.  One of my main complaints with the tank system is that if you miss one color of ink, you must replace it before printing anything.  At least with the cartridge system, you can print in Tricolor if you run out of ink black. Please tell me that HP is wrong in this way.  I had several HP printers and have always had good luck with them.  They are probably the best printers out there.

    rsmaruba

There are a number of different HP printing technologies. Some models such as the 6500 Officejet printers have individual ink cartridges and separate printheads replaceabe.  These printers are printers IIC (each ink cartridge).  The Officejet 6500 will continue printing even if one of the ink supply is low.  Some models (those using the 02 cartrdiges for example) require a sufficient ink in all colors for printing.

Other models have integrated print heads (IPH), with printheads built into the ink cartrdiges. These were usually a black cartrdige and one tricolor cartridge. IPH printers may work with one or several empty colors.  Many recent models allow printing with one of the cartrdiges disappear completely.  [This is more common on single function models.  The all-in-one printer/copier/scanner require usually two cartridges installed.

Before buying a printer look supplies.  If there are four to six supplies contained the printer is probably an IIC printer.  Models that list a tricolor cartridge and a cartrdige black (perhaps with an optional photo cartridge) are printers IPH.

It seems you would be more interested in the IPH printers.

  • Incompatible print cartridge error message

Below you can find a video on setting a cartridge print Incompatible error message in an Officejet J4680 printer. The steps it will show you how to do the following procedures.

    1. Remove and inspect the cartridges

    2. how to clean cartridges and what materials to use for this process.

    3. replace the cartridge

    4. printing in the mode back.

The stages of care cartridge will work on all printers that have the HPI cartridges.  IPH cartridges are those who come in all black and tri-color and have no individual cyan, magenta, and yellow colors. This is also true when the video talking about printing in backup mode as some printers with cartridges IPH are able to print in rescue mode when a cartridge is missing from the printer.

I hope the community finds this video to be useful.

  • How to solve the Message "Incompatible print cartridge".

    Hello everyone

Have you ever received the message "Incompatible print cartridge"? This may be caused by defective cartridges, dirty cartridge contacts, or by using the wrong cartridges for your printer or the region. If you get this message after moving to another country and using a different HP ink you will need to call HP support and ask them to explain how to change the region of your printer.

If, however, you have not moved and you get this message with a new cartridge or current a little troubleshooting can be made. There is an article and the youtube video to help you to solve this problem, they are two excellent tools for troubleshooting. If the steps do not resolve your problem that make sure you try a different cartridge because it helps to isolate the problem to the printer or cartridge.

  • HP Officejet 6835: Not to recognize new printer cartridges.

Exchanged a defective HP Officejet Pro 6835 at Costco. I kept the old cartridges and Costco pulled the new printer cartridges and kept them. During the installation of the printer does not recognize the used cartridges. Error message received to use cartridges supplied with the printer configuration. Did not have them. Is gone to town & bought new HP cartridges and install. The printer took over in the same place on the installer. It does not recognize the new cartridges. What can I do? I can't start the installation program. I remove the new cartridges and reinstall them using and get the same message again. She can't get to work, so I'll have to make another 90 mile round trip to Costco to replace this printer.  Any suggestions?

    Doreen

You will need to install cartridges for initial configuration, Costco shouldn't have removed the cartridges setup.  You can contact HP, they could send replacement cartridges setup or they may suggest that you only contact Costco.
