  The last 24 hours have been a roller coaster of emotions to say the least. Last night when editing photos my external hard drive suffered a problem of corruption and has stopped responding. I went immediately into emergency mode and started to tear off which doesn't have the data I could from the drive of entry mechanically.

  Fortunately, I keep all my original and raws photos supported on a 10 to RAID 5 array with 2 parity drive if I'm not worried about losing those. In addition, I save my lrcat regularly (once a month) to the same NAS. However, since the last time the catalogue was supported up to and now, of course I did a lot of editing. Another factor of motivation in my back catalog has been the fact that I have 4-5 years with a value of photo retouching in this catalogue. So many years of metadata. I didn't want to lose it all.

  At anyrate, I was able to shoot the catalog, and when I tried to open it in Lightroom, he complained that he was corrupted and he would try to fix it, LR has failed to do. With a little research, I could empty the LR schema and reset the database, deleting constraints bad (there are three). After that Lightroom was able to reopen the newly restored lrcat file and everything was fine. I immediately supported the current state of this catalog to my NAS for well-being.

  iCloud Drive shows clearly at random (and some) thumbnails to preview file (PDF and apparently by other observers JPGs) on the Web page - this makes icloud drive totally useless!  See it's a generic PDF icon among hundreds, impossible search effectively.  Do I remember my millions, the file names of the files?

  If they are labeled under OSX, it didn't have to be maintained through the process of synchronization online?

  And why the files cannot be downloaded.  It means taking the existing folders and re-create them online with the same name, where they already exist in OSX.  I don't know that there is a cryptic reasons for these things.  I'm looking for a workaround solution.

  How are you adding files to iCloud Drive? You use Finder?

  iCloud.com is not really designed to be a file manager. The site is where your files are stored and has very basic features.

  Two possible solutions:

  (1) it can be interesting to try to clear the cache of thumbnails:

  (2) Windows Live Photo Gallery is a database that can
  corrupted.

  If you rename the file... it will force the photo gallery to create a
  new database file the next time, it is launched and the Gallery
  will be as it was the first time it was launched.

  I'm not positive that this will solve the problem of the thumbnail
  you are dealing with but if you want to test the
  file name is... Pictures.PD6.

  Just rename it to OLDPictures.pd6. This can cause you to
  lose tags and metadata that are not rewritten on
  the photo files.

  The path to the file is:

  Windows\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\
  Windows Live Photo Gallery\Pictures.pd6

  ADE can display ebooks by title, author or source.  If you go to the

  Same problem here. A hard reset is the answer. You will not lose your applications or your photos, data or media. Just make sure that you back up your phone. I did just 2 seconds ago and emojis flag returned to normal...

• Transparency and thumbnails missing aero - how to get them back?

  Missing thumbnails in taskbar (when I hover over an icon for a running application) problem started after I have had disappeared from this computer for two months and installed 30 + critical and optional updates when I'm Home 03/06/13 (last updated 04/01/13). I have a screenshot of the updates installed if anyone needs. The restore feature offers no point of restoration before 06/03/13.

  I read many issues forum on Aero and vignettes that disappears and tried all the solutions proposed, including but without limitation FixIt Aero (says my graphics card will not be "necessary support display settings", but he has worked for several years), Aero convenience store (no problem found), install the latest NVidia driver on their site, reinstalling the driver from NVidia Dell original worm 8.16.11.9187) regedit changes suggested on the forum, many reboots, etc.

  If you have updated your Windows then uninstall the update of platform for Windows 7 (KB2670838) and your problem should be solved.

  Before I updated my Windows this month I just checked if Microsoft still offer this update. This is in the optional list. I installed so I thought to manually upgrade to IE10 because he wasn't in the IE9 update list. So I did manually and after that check updates again and to my surprise this update has disappeared completely. I have an old PC as well, and after installing all the updates I still have no problems so far. I recommend that you upgrade to IE10 after uninstalling this update (if you updated with that and faced the problem) to get rid of the update forever. But do it at your own risk, because I never updated my machine with this defective update and see if that caused any problems with my machine.

  Left the application here to give time for it to load, but still the same

  Exit and restart Capture of Image, some of the miniatures that failed to load previously managed to load, but a lot are all still not loaded.

  Exit and relaunch Image Capture, some of vignettes that has not charged the 1st time and instructed the 2nd time, failed to load now. seems to be back to square 1.

  Its a hit and Miss sort of thing.

  This has been hard for some time already, can't remember how far behind you.

  Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. I understand from the information you provided, when you connect your iPhone and open picture Capture, there are missing thumbnails. I manage my own photos on my Mac, so I can understand wanting and needing these thumbnails to display correctly. I have a few things you can try to help him.

  1. Eject your iPhone from the computer and stop Capture of Image. Press in and hold the SHIFT key on your keyboard while reopening of Capture of Image again. Connect your iPhone and the test of the miniatures.

• Faces no display photo icon

  When on the faces, I select a face, but the next screen shows some of the photo mode icon. But if I select one of the empty icons, the photo will appear.

  How thumbnails of faces are missing?

  Photos have no way to force the recreation of miniature faces. You can try to repair the photo library, but it is not certain if that will fix the database of faces. and if you use iCloud photo library, Photo Upload all the photos again to iCloud after repair of the library.

  If only a few pictures have disappeared from thumbnails of faces, it might be faster to export the photo with missing thumbnail faces, then delete the photo library, empty the recently deleted album and then reimport the picture.  Photos it will still search the faces and create a thumbnail of new faces during the import.

  If several thumbnails are empty, you can try to restore your library of Photos from the last backup that you made before the problem first occurred.

It has not worked since the day 1. Computer installed at Staples where I bought it. Maybe they got an incorrect setting.

  I called hp who tried everything to fix it. They also could not access my computer remotely. so, between the problems of 2 eccentric they concluded it must be a corrupted file and wanted to do a recovery or whatever that it's called. I said not yet.

  I then took to Staples this am. their guy tech initially could not understand and said that he would probably recover if he couldn't fix it. but surprise, surprise! He has figured out that missing thumbnails have been from the screen monitor of high contrast setting. how easily you can get.

• Is there another SOLUTION FOR READING FILES .flv in addition to PLAYER in time REAL?

  Recently, I upgraded from Real Player cloud both Real Player on two desktop computers. A computer kept thousands of thumbnails of the video while the other did not. I confirm in this forum and has received several possible solutions, which did not work. Also, I confirm with Real Player and received several, almost identical solutions also failed to solve the mystery. Real Player always has a constant search for the answer. I have to pronounce on the HP computer with the missing thumbnails by doing a system recovery to factory specifications. Returned all the missing thumbnails and all is well except for one, and it's that I don't have reinstall Real Player/Real times. Windows Media Player plays the majority of the thousands of videos, but there are still hundreds that are unplayable without Real Player/Real times. My question is, ' is there a safe format to install other than Real Player/Real times to read .flv files without jeopardizing other files? Also, is there a reason why Microsoft Gets a built in-house audio/video download system rather than having to resort to a third party outside? Thank you.

  I'm having a problem with Dropbox and Lightroom 4. After working well for a while, when I try now to export a photo directly to Dropbox, I get a file with the data 0. If I disable the Dropbox app on my Mac, it will export the file perfectly in my local Dropbox folder.
