Mixture of workstation and of consumer GPU

It was suggested that I move my previous thread here, so here I am!

I need to design a couple of computers for a film class I did at my school. One of the things I look at is the camera I want to use with the class, and it can record up to 12-bit video. Now I understand that to display this color requires a 10-bit, GPU, Application and monitor OS (Yes, you can 'see' in 8-bit, but this isn't the issue here). Supports Windows 7/8, CC Adobe supports, and there are a plethora of monitors of 10 bits on the market. Here's my real question is:

It is obvious that Adobe signed a partnership tight with NVIDIA, using the Toolbox in their applications and recommending the NVIDIA cards on their site. To see 10 bits, even if a card Quadro is required, and for a decent memory card and CUDA cores, that it can run up to and over $2 K, which is money that I don't have a card. So, I was wondering if it is possible to use a card AMD over-pants (like the W5100 or W7100) as primary monitor output card to achieve the 10-bit string, and have then a card public secondary, such as the GTX from 780 to use with MEPS and as computing CUDA form headless card, that I can get to about 800-$900 total? Is this kind of impossible configuration due to architectures / drivers cards, or is it a possible pairing?

Additional info: the class is designed to work with editing, Compositing, color and calibration work in 3D (Modo/husband or Maya/Mudbox). I also designed a build that is about $3 K based on the above idea.

Thanks in advance for the help!

-Mike

I doubt everything has tried your experiment.  I'm sure Adobe has never tested something like that I've never heard of.   While I ran dozens (maybe even more than 100) GPU tests, I couldn't duplicate your configuration as I do not have and cannot afford to acquire a card week.  I am well-stocked with nVidia cards and I have a Radeon card.  I heard that having two different graphics readers can potentially be a problem that Adobe has not yet tested with GeForce and Quadro.

What you need to do is forum member contact Eric to ADK to design and build computers to your condition.  There are other ways to solve your problem with guaranteed results.

The two maps should work perfectly.  Get the latest.

If you want to check that it works just buy later used off eBay and test... I use all kinds of these recent maps HP on several HP workstations and they all work on each.

Unlike with processors there is no part of the BIOS that has a "white list" for approved cards.  It's just a question of if HP has tested things together, or not.

Note that there may be video card HP firmware updates, which work well, and I Flash my HP and non HP nVidia Quadro cards to the latest version of firmware HP if I have an update of the firmware.  I use the latest drivers nVidia (ODE) directly from the nVidia web site.  Does all of this for years.

  • R730 Dell with the consumer GPU class

    Hey,.

Although it is not officially supported, I'd be able to install a consumer GPU like 980GTX or Titan X rank in one of these (configured with a thermal profile for 2CPUs) + GPU?

I've done it before on R720 with GTX Titan and it works very well. Should I worry (like the space inside the server)?

  • I keep getting "the trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed" error windows 2008R2

    Hi all

I appreciate your help. And I hope that this issue has been addressed previously, although I couldn't find any solution there.

I manage a domain windows 2008 with 3 domain controllers. Recently my workstations continue to fall out of the field. I get "the trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed" to many workstations.

I know how to fix properly, use netdom.exe. But the mistakes keep coming back. I don't know where to look for the source of this error. A possible problem might be the time in any field is out of sync. But all my workstations synchronize with the domain controller with the primary domain controller role and seems to work correctly.

Are there other sources, that I need to check? This is getting frustrating.

Thank you much for the help.

Contact your domain administrator for the domain of the computer account
    recreated or reactivated, as appropriate.

  • The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed.

The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed.  This only happens on the Windows 7 desktop.  It is sporadic.   Add the computer account to the domain is not a viable solution.  It happens far too often.

There is nothing coherent we found on systems that are removed from the field.  Some time its workstations users, sometimes its laptops to students and sometimes he posts of laboratory work.  Different types of systems use different images.  All images are syspreped before creating the image.

repressive restoration of a restore because of virus date

This is because for domain authentication, s-channel is used. It is a password and a key attached to your machine account that renews every 30 days.

You will need to connect using the local administrator and you ungroup, and then join the domain.

This happens whenever you restore a backup at least 30 days or older.

  • I get an error, 'relationship between the workstation and the field has no confidence. "

I have a 2003 domain controller, this a job gives me an error "trust in relationship between the workstation and the domain failed" so I read I have to reset the server, remove the object and remove the workstation from the domain, but my problem is that I can not even log in as administrator to do. My admin login details work perfect on other machines, but not this one. Help, please!

On computers that are connected to a domain, you always have the choice to get authenticated by the controller of domain or the local computer. You must select the local computer, and then use a local administrator account.

In our environment, we have Windows Server 2008 with Windows 7 machines. Lately some Windows 7 machines have received the error that does not have a trust relationship between workstation and domain and users are unable to connect to the machine. New to Lightroom 6.  Were able to import photos previously. Now when I try to import Photos and videos, I specify a folder that contains a mixture of NEF and JPG images, and thumbnails will appear.  However, they are grayed out. When I hit Import, I get a message that says no. Photos import active.

This means that you have previously imported these pictures/videos into Lightroom, and you must not (and are not allowed to) import them again.

Go to your library Module (not the import dialog box) and find the photos, then you can make use of them in any way you want in Lightroom.

  • Very slow network with 10 Workstation and Windows 8 / 8.1 Windows

    Hello

I come to you because I have a problem with the network with 10 Workstation and Windows 8 / 8.1

In fact, if I copy files from or to a virtual machine with my host of Windows 8 by sharing Windows (SMB / CIFS), it is very very slow and unusable.

Example: My host is a Windows 8 x 64 and Windows 8 x 64 host: transfer speed is about 100 or 200 KB/s and often 0 KB/s (transfer seems to be paused).

With a guest Windows 8.1, same problem.

After many tests, I also tried with Windows PE 5 (same kernel as Windows 8.1): same problem, unusable.

But, miracle, if I use "Utility MSI - X OFF" Intel, I reboot and the problem disappears.

    There:https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?lang=eng & DwnldID = 18946

Someone in this community, said that it have the same problem and a workaround solution was not to use Intel e1000e but e1000 then: I must admit, it works.

With e1000, speed is around 30 to 60 MB/s and stable.

But, by default, 10 Workstation e1000e value when I create a new VM Windows 8.1, so it's a problem... Do not manually change for each new virtual machine and explain this to my students.

Please, you can reproduce this bug and fix it?

    Thank you very much.

New workstation 10.0.2 fixed this bug. Perfect.

  • 8.06 workstation and hostAgentStats - 20.stats

    Salvation;

I am running VMware Workstation 8.0.6 under Windows 7 64 bit host. I tried to understand why the rate of wear on my new SSD seems higher than expected.

Studying this with xperf tool, I noticed that the file C:\ProgramData\VMware\hostd\stats\hostAgentStats-20.stats is is written in all the time if I'm running a VM or not (even when I'm all virtual machine doesn't work don't not so much the interface of the user interface does not). About 10,2 MB an hour of the process 'system '.

What is this file for, and I can put it off? It is normally necessary, is it possible to disable off at least when no VM do work?

    Thank you;

It is a part of the Service Server VMware Workstation and if you do not use any shared virtual machines then turn and disable the Server Service VMware Workstation in Windows Services.

If you use VMware Workstation Server Service there is a hostAgentStats.xml file in the same folder, the content which is show below, you can try setting to 0 or something smaller then 180 and also increase of the if you want.

  • Issue of license VMware Workstation and VMplayer

    Hi all:

Can anyone help to answer this question.  Thank you in advance.

I have a valid license of VMware Workstation 9, can VMware Workstation and the VMplayer separately install on two computers and use them in business environment?

The VMware Player delivered in the Installation of VMware Workstation is not separable from the installation of VMware Workstation or VMware Workstation license.  If you want to run VMware Player by itself then you must download the VMware Player installer, which installs only VMware Player not VMware Workstation.  You cannot cut files VMware Workstation installed between two systems.  So if you want to use it commercially you must buy a license of VMware Fusion!

I hope that now this is clear enough for you to grab!

  • VMware Workstation and Hyper-V are not compatible. Remove the Hyper-V system role before running VMware Workstation

Ouch. I just started to do some Win Phone 8 and development Win, and all simulators are needed for development.

This means that a dev to Win8 may only work on their host... I'm sure it would work in a virtual machine.

Can I make for happy? (Hyper V might have to win here... sigh).

VMware Workstation and Hyper-V are not compatible. Remove the Hyper-V system role before running VMware Workstation

Once you install the Hyper-V role on your host, your host is no longer running Windows 8 as the native operating system.  It runs Hyper-V as the native operating system, and Windows 8 runs as OS management within a privileged under Hyper-V VM.  With the Hyper-V role installed, * everything * runs in a virtual machine under Hyper-V.

So to run a virtual machine under my computer in Windows 8 under Hyper-V, you must be able to run a nested VM.  It's possible with Hyper-V, the hypervisor host, but with the updates in custody, I mentioned above.
