  Thanks for the reply, I checked the Windows Firewall service, it is set to automatic, and two long-term services are started (BFE and MPSDRV). It turns out that the PC was connected to the Public network, while the Windows Firewall has been enabled only for the private profile. Activation of the firewall for the public profile, did the trick.

  A correction to my previous post.  The localized names and descriptions are provided with the ALX file, but are not met in the JAD file.  This is why you must use an installation method that uses the ALX file.

  It's the first half of the process, and now you must use diskpart to extend the operating system volume. There are some limitations that you should be aware of... You may not use part of disk on a system drive (ie. the C:\), or on a disk that has been configured for virtual memory (pagefile.sys). For a system drive, download and use the Dell extpart tool, which allows you to extend drives on the system without any downtime. For disks that contain a swap file, leave the page file (requires restart), and then use diskpart to extend the volume. For diskpart to work, make sure that your virtual disk service is running.

  Do you need help with diskpart syntax? Open a command prompt, run as administrator if UAC is enabled, and then type diskpart. Type list disk to see the available disks. Type select disk #, where # is the disk you want to expand. Then type list volume to see the volumes. Now type select volume #, where # is the volume you want to extend. Now type extend, and you should see a message saying that the disc has been extended successfully. Type exit, close the command prompt and you should see the additional available disk space.

  If so, you are in "destructive" mode and changes do not take effect until you manually save the file.  I suggest strongly using the "Save as" and rename it so that you keep your original in case you want to go back and change things again.

  FYI, the other way to do is to work in multitrack view (even if you don't have a single track) then export your finished work.  This way to make changes are non-destructive and you don't accidentally change your originals, even if you click on save.

  This is a forum for Vista but XP works substantially the same in this situation (that I used XP since its release and have yet another computer using XP and customers who still use XP).  You probably do not have to restart; However, you will need to disconnect from the network (local or internet), and then restore the connections for the new DNS entry is recognized.  In fact, you can check after the change by clicking on start / all programs / accessories / command prompt commands and typing ipconfig/all and enter then check the connections and see if the new DNS entry is displayed.  If so, you don't have even to re-establish the connection or reset as long as the new DNS entry is displayed.  If this does not work (it does not appear in ipconfig/all AND restore the connections do not have to add (ipconfig, you can check / all after restoring connections as well) and you know that the change will solve the problem (whatever that is) and have need to be added, then reboot to see if that helps (but again once I do not think it must be that restore the connections may be necessary).)

  In short, I would just check ipconfig/all to check if the new entry is there.  If this is not the case restore connections and check ipconfic/all again.  If still no there, then restart.  If still not there, so the addition did not work and you will need to check that it is correct and try to add it again.

  I have Windows 7 Professional 64 bit installed on a system with a mirrored system disk and two disks no mirroring, including a SSD drive which is configured with ReadyBoost. Because mirroring is to the integrity of the data, and has a performance cost associated with it, I don't want any file on my system disk. Instead, I want that page files on non mirrored disks.

  So I use computer-> properties and go to the "advanced system settings" to bring up the System Properties dialog box. I click on the "Advanced" tab and in the 'Performance' section, click on 'Settings' to bring up the "Performance Options" dialog box Then I click the "Advanced" tab and in the "Virtual memory" section, click on 'Change' to bring up the dialog box 'virtual memory '. Here, it lists the drive letters and for each drive paging file options.

  Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.
