  I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 Professional 32 bit, I have only driver problem which seems to be difficult to solve and that is a driver for my data/fax PCI modem of ideas where I can get a compatible driver?

  If you have upgraded to Vista, there's a reasonable chance that you can use the Vista driver, but if you've gone from XP, you may be out of luck.

• Error code 12 when installing modem PCI

  I installed a new modem Conexant CX1125-11.  The system recognized and installed a driver.  But the unit has:

  This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

  If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.

  I understand that it is a conflict in the allocation of a resource as level IRQ or DMA channel.  But the Device Manager does not have information on what resources are in conflict (or even what resources are allocated to this unit, I can search the conflict myself).

  How to diagnose and fix the problem.

  Note - This is the only PCI card in the system - in fact the only interface card in addition to what's on the motherboard itself.

  Windows 7 Professional

  Gigabyte GA880GA-UD3H rev 2.1 BIOS F7 (last)

  AMD Athlon II X 4 640

  Try to reconnect the different modem on a PCI slot. Sometimes specific locations results in conflict with other devices, they are shipped or not.

  Thank you for your comments. I use the dial upward. However, my PC does not connect to broadband, even with direct Ethernet cable connection or adapter wireless Netgear WPN111, I used happily with XP on the same computer. Device Manager displays the PCI as incompatible. FYI, I downloaded and installed the latest drivers for the wireless card.

  Install the following:

  • Dell system software
  • Intel Chipset Device Software

  Dell systems must run more stably once they installed. I would remove the modem PCI card.

  Intel Pro/100 VE Ethernet should work natively with Windows 7 as Windows 7 has built-in driver:

  Ed, welcome to the forum.

  No, PCI and PCI Express x 16 are not compatible.  Here is a good explanation of the PCIe.  This is the replacement for the PCI.  You can buy a PCI Express x 1 card.  There are three x 1 slots on the motherboard.

• Problems with ping and 56 k modem about half current speed.

  I have a few questions.

  I've switched & my internal modem says it's 56 k. I know that I won't get a full 56 k, but I'm only running at about 26 k. Why what can I do about it?

  Additionally, every time that I ping ALL websight, it always comes back with: request timed out, 0 packets received, 4 lost packets, 4 packets sent, 100% loss. I can't understand it and I hope someone can explain to me why and how to fix it. I'm NOT "computer illiterate"!

  1. are you able to ping the loopback adapter (that is to say-ping 127.0.0.1)?

  You must contact the ISP to find out why you can't ping websites.

  You can also check with the manufacturer of the modem if no firmware update is available. It is available even download and check.

  I got the antivirus 2009 virus and had to wipe and reinstall xp. Upgrade to service pack 3.
  I don't have my tecra recovery disk.
  In the Manager of devices under sound, video and game controllers, I see

  Audio codecs
  Legacy Audio drivers
  Legacy video Capture devices
  Media control devices
  Video codecs

  No exclamation mark beside one of these.

  In the other devices section, I see

  Modem PCI
  Unknown device
  Video controller
  Video controller (VGA compatible)
  Audio and video multimedia controller

  All of them have exclamation points.

  I downloaded the Soundmax driver several times and tried to start it, but it is still suspended indefinitely and I have to force close. I uninstalled the multimedia audio and video controller and attempted to revive Soundmax, but which did not help either.

  Please let know us, as I use this laptop to DJ a party of the new year tomorrow, but obviously cannot unless this problem is cleared up.

  Where did you download the driver?
  On the Toshiba site, you can download all the drivers for your model. So check that.

  In addition to an update of the BIOS if necessary.

  Just to put the hand on this Satellite Pro A60 PSA65E - 01H00U8K.
  It was really slow and crashing regularly so I reinstalled windows XP by using a copy of XP I had round lie and the license key at the back of the laptop.
  I have not the original CD media provided with calculation, so I used the following link for the

  Network-> driver LAN or WLan controller is
  Note: there are various different manufacturers Intel, Atheros WLan drivers, etc.

  PCI modem-> you need driver modem.

  PS: don't forget that the SP3 of XP Win is installed too.

  -Modem PCI
  -Unknown device

  Windows Update has been able to find the video and the USB drivers, but I can't find information on this model on the Toshiba support sites.

  So really not great it s cope:

  go to "http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp", choose your model and download all THE drivers for the machine. Then just install all THE drivers and software and shouldn´t there is a problem...
