  What is the brand and model of the computer?

  Check if the scanner is working properly in Device Manager.

  To do this, follow these steps:

  a. on the desktop, press the Windows key + R and type devmgmt.msc and press enter to open the Device Manager.

  b. Expand human interface device and right click on the driver.

  c. select Properties , and then check to see if the device works properly under Device Status.

  Is there a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside, then it indicates that there are some problems with it.

  I suggest you to follow these steps to update the driver to scan finger print and check.

  a. press the Windows key + R and type devmgmt.msc and press enter.

  b. search for Devices of Interface and expand it.

  c. make a right click on the fingerprint scanner driver and Update driver software.

  I looked for answers to this, and it seems that all they are pointing to the same question. Grave wireless network adapter failed after the Service Pack 3 update.   I found the solution. The card reader did not have a drive letter with the disk management tool I put it to the letter h: in my case, and after that, it was finally visible and accessible in the Explorer. It need driver 8.1 however.

  After setting the network card to make IE work, then check OE.  If the OE still has problems, check under Tools | Options | Connections and tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Connection to be sure, the settings are correct.  You may also need to remove your e-mail account, close OE and then add it back again.
