  • Satellite L650-0ED - ports external monitor and turn off WiFi

    Hey,.

    1. I have a Satellite L650/0ED, I was wondering if the HDMI and the external monitor port start when starting and if they cause the start time of the laptop to be slower. If they do slow down the start how disable them you using Device Manager, since I looked, I tried to disable the Device Manager; but I can't find them anywhere on the list of devices.
They have a special code name or something?

    2. based on my understanding, the manual of instruction/userguide Toshiba mentions if I press FN + F8 it turns off the wireless amber light but this is not the case, since the amber wireless is still or not. I have the wireless active or disabled.
It say it's so I have the wireless off of amber or the - Orange must be turned off when I press FN + F8 and is not, why is this?

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

    1. No, they cause t a slower start. He doesn't know me and as long as I know it of not possible to disable the ports in the BIOS. Then n t you worry about this, even, you have connected external screens, boot time is the same.

    2. Yes, usually you can activate the WLAN functionality by using the FN + F8 key combination.
I put t have the laptop in front of me, but normally if you don t have a hardware wireless switch, you can disable the wireless network adapter in the BIOS. Just put permits for disabled people and that should be all! :)

Sorry, I forgot to mention my hw: Satellite a100-02 b (geforce go 7600)

.. and when I reboot Vista behaves a little bit strange.
a few seconds, everything looks ok, but then it redefines the external monitor to 16-bit color and minimum Vfrequency (60 HZ)
and a message appears that the 'Desktop Manager' was closed due to a problem.

    Maybe it's because...
    (1) it is an old CRT, not especially known (standard pnp driver)?
    (2) the ability of the graphics card vista is not sufficient in this configuration?

I heard somewhere that there is a switch in the registry, which disables the dwm.exe test, if the material is
able to support the aero technologies. What is a way to fix it?

    Hello

I read about the registry hack that allows the function Aero Vista on graphics cards that are generally not able to manage the Aero feature.
But I don t think that the modified registry key might help with this problem!

In any case, I try to understand what you were doing on the laptop
You have turned on the display on the second external monitor, then you have changed the position of the screen (you turn the display) and you tried to use the Aero on the external monitor.
    Am I wrong?

Well, what to say, it s not easy to say if she s a problem or just a limitation of Vista Aero.
I have never tested or used Aero after the display has been set at another position.

I think you should test Aero on external monitor without rotation.

This is probably controlled by the power settings. Once you enter the power settings there should be an option something similar to 'change the closure of the hood '. There are probably several options such as sleeping, ect...

  • Monitor keeps turning off

Which caused my computer screen to turn off by itself, while I still use it? He returned after about an hour or two. Any suggestions

    Hello caprikus,

Reinstall Windows Vista would be an aggressive measure to solve this problem. I suggest you contact Dell to check if the problem is caused by a faulty monitor. However, for your reference, you can have a look at the links that will give you information on how to reinstall Windows Vista below:

  • monitor caution turn off after 1/2 hour of use

After that I'm on the computer for about 1/2 hour my screen goes black.  I then have to turn the monitor turned off/turned on but the screen just stays on for a few minutes.  It's as if there is delay.

Make sure that "Turn off the display" is set to "Never" in Power Options. Citing Windows Help:
"1. options of power opened by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking system and security, and then clicking Power Options."
"2. in the Select a power plan , on the left, click choose when turn off display.
    "
If 'Disable the display' is already set to 'Never' and the problem persists, then try the monitor with another computer for a few hours in order to exclude that it is the fault of the monitor.

    1. do you mean to say that only the task bar has been moved to the right or the full screen has turned 90 degrees?
    2. don't you make changes on the computer before this problem?

The ability to rotate the screen image is a characteristic of your video card, press and hold the Ctrl and Alt and press one of the four arrow keys (up, down, left, or right) to correct.

  • Connection monitor to turn Inspiron 3847 U2713H

I gave my daughter a tower Inspiron 3847 for Christmas with a monitor of U2713H renovated so that it could alter the photos. She struggles to find ways to connect the two devices with the cable supplied with the monitor.

Does anyone know how to properly connect this monitor to this tower?

    Yes.

If it is absolutely sure, this isn't HDMI and DisplayPort.

I only have a DisplayPort and VGA on my Dell 3020, but my monitor's HDMI and VGA.

EDIT: Looks like it is a HDMI and VGA on the 3847

  • Properties dialog boxes appear in extended desktop monitor after turning off

I used the Office expanded shortly to develop a data model. However, when returning on the single screen of laptop, maker of data continues to display dialog boxes in extended desktop monitor and therefore invisible.

If anyone has experienced this problem and is it possible to disable this option.

    Thank you
    Etienne Piron

    Hi Eric,.

For some of the dialog boxes, he remembers where the dialog box is displayed, and next time the dialog box is used, it tries to display the dialog box at the same place.
This can result in the dialog box being invisible if it was previously displayed on a subsidiary monitor that is no longer connected.

In this case, you can move the new dialogue box on the main screen as follows:

1 attempt to open the dialog box.

    2. tap Alt space (this opens the dropdown of the invisible dialog box).

3 M type (this selects the Move option in the drop-down below).

4 use the left or right arrow key to move the dialog box. (Once you've started it, you will find that you can use the mouse to position the dialog on the screen.)

You need only this time for the dialog box. Next time it is used, it must appear in the new location.

  • AL1716 screen turns black after a few seconds. If I turn the monitor power off & on again, it works - 2s

The monitor worked fine for a few years, so is no longer under warranty. I was about to throw.

Then the monitor I bought to replace, was damaged on the way to the group practice site.

Now, I hope to fix the Acer monitor.

When the computer starts, and a new screen loads, the monitor it shows for a few seconds. Once the computer on the desktop, if I turn off the monitor and turn it back on, it displays the desktop perfectly for a few seconds.

The monitor I replaced it with also works very well with the computer. He collided with another device, when the car in front of me stops suddenly and there is a piece missing from the screen in the lower left corner. It looks like modern art in the lower part with some of them white and black and a few vertical lines and horizontal lines. I can continue to use it, since what I need lies in the upper part of the screen. I learned the keyboard command to shut down the computer. The windows key, followed by the right arrow, followed by the Enter key.

I watched a few videos for repair of monitor on Youtube.

It seems that the capacitors are the typical element which spoils first.

So I guess I'll break the front off the monitor and see if the card has the capacitors top of the pop up. I can use capacitors with the same intensity of micro-Farouk and the voltage equal or better than the other monitor.

I've recently learned step secret beginning of successful welding.

You must have a clean tip.

When you clean the tip of the soldering iron, it should have the appearance of copper. If weld does not stick to the point, it is not clean enough. I used a wet sandpaper dry and scoured it. They are sold with a protective coating that must be removed. If it is not removed it clogging the tip.

  • Monitor does not immediately turn on

My monitor used to work properly and then, after going to sleep when not to use the computer for a given period, he (the monitor) would not go back. Pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del has worked for a short while then I had to turn on the monitor and turn it back on, then I had to wait several minutes before I could turn it back on, then I completely removed the duration of sleep, preventing the monitor go off leaving on until I is no longer needed on the computer or at the end of the day. After this point, start-up, the monitor would not come and I had to wait 2-3 minutes, turn off the monitor and turn it back and he would come. Then I had to wait 5 minutes, then 10 minutes, then an hour. The last time that I turned it on (and I left it on since) I've been waiting 12 hours.   Once the monitor is turned on, it works fine. So I don't think it's a fault with the monitor. So what - the?

Your monitor may deteriorate gradually. The easiest method to check if you have a problem of monitor is to swap monitors. Alternatively, you can try to move your current monitor to another computer to see if the screen lights up immediately. Isolate the problem.
