Monitor sessions

Is anyone else having issues using the sessions of the monitor?  Using the same TNS/username, I am able to view the sessions using TOAD, but not SQL Developer (I always used to, even with the 4.0).

I'm still able to select * from V$ SESSION, so I'm a little confused.  I get an error:

To perform the requested operation, an error has occurred:

ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

00942 00000 - "table or view does not exist.

There is a solution, Yes.

In the reports interface, take the Sessions report, copy it down to user-defined reports and change requests to go against the views v$.

Example of how doing it is here

I'm running 64 Bit Windows JDK 7 connecting to Oracle DB 10.1.0.5.0. Access the Plan to explain in the tool monitor Sessions tab causes the error. This has been true in all 4. releases.

Copy of the report of sessions monitor down to a user defined report, check out the SQL used in the Plan to explain tab and try to run in your 10.1.0.5 database. We do not support this version of the database, but you can change to the sql in your report defined by the user to work for this instance if necessary.

  • Issue the odd monitor Sessions

With the help of 3.0.04 Developer SQL Server Oracle 10 g connection.

I can't see all user sessions when I use the sessions monitor option in the Tools menu. I see my sessions, but not other users.

The strange thing is that if I use the Sessions by username report (under the heading data dictionary reports > Database Administration > Sessions) I get a list of user sessions that I am unable to see using the report of 'Sessions' at the same place.

The user I log in SQL Developer's SYS. If I log in Enterprise Manager, with the same user credentials, I can see all sessions.

The weird bit is it didn't used to be like that, and I never am not aware of all the changes have been made that there would be. I have been using the Sessions of the monitor with success for at least 9 months and it was only behave like that in the last 3 weeks. I guess that everything that happens is just a select < something > session $ v? What do you think is the cause?

Hello, I use SD 4.1.017 EA 1 and I wonder if there is an official list of all the objects in the DB to use this tool?

Currently with the rights I have, I can see the list of session, but if a click on a tab in the list, I have an ORA-00942 "table or view does not exist" (on most tablets in any case).

  • Tab for claim to the Session of the monitor is by session or any database?

There is Contention tab under Tools-> monitor Sessions. It updates whenever another session is selected in the list of the sessions above. If this tab shows claim through the entire database? or is it just show for this session if the session causes or experience any claim?

    The latter.

  • The SQL Developer memory usage is very high + session monitor work not

    Hello
I'm facing 2 problems with SQL developer tool.

    (1) high memory usage (about 160 MB).
    (2) when I click on tools-> monitor sessions, session related window opens upward.

I use 1.5.4 version. Please let me know if there are fixes for these issues.

    Thanks

    Hello

    (1) not much help for you, but for me, 160 MB is not excessive use of memory for SQL Developer (mine is currently sitting at around 150 MB). And then, I have been using the tool for a while and have a lot of memory on my computer.
    (2) tools > Sessions of the monitor works fine for me (DB 10.2.0.3). Do you get an error message when it "does not open upward? Which version of DB are you using? If you go through the browser reports (see > reports if it is not already displayed) and select Data Dictionary reports > Database Administration > Sessions > Sessions, does it report?

  • Check configuration on S170 L4 traffic monitor?

You can check that I made this connection correctly on our new S170?  I'm greatly grateful in advance!

On the switch, I created 1 session of the monitor with the following command:

    monitor session 1 source Fa6/0/38, 48/0/Fa2 interface

control interface of destination session 1 item in gi1/0/40

We have two 50 Mbps internet connections, firewalls are so only on 100meg (fa) ports GigE ports are at a premium and I don't want to lose the PoE ports (which are together).

Fa6/0/38 is our main firewall connection side lan to the internet.  All traffic to the outside world of our local network must pass through here.

FA2/0/48 is an asa firewall failover, if for some reason, the principal is down, traffic to the outside world would be through this port through the secondary firewall.

Item in gi1/0/40 is a concert which is patched with the WSA S170 T1 port.

The WSA network > Interfaces display a L4 Traffic Monitor wiring Duplex TYPE value: T1 (In/Out)

Security Services > L4 Traffic Monitor enabled L4 traffic, and the traffic is controlled on all ports except ports web (HTTP/HTTPS).  Rules are correctly updated and licensing is enabled for this feature.

So this setup correctly?  Is it possible to test?  Should I change the L4 monitor traffic to monitor all ports, or generally just you ports WCCP 80 / 443 of the firewall answer to all that filtering and use L4 for 'everything else '?

When I go to the L4 Traffic Monitor reports, there is no data found.  Now probably because there is no suspicious activity or malware, but how can I be sure that it works?

It looks like the game properly.

I set mine to look at "Everything else."

  • Pwerconnect 6224: vlan client computers do not receive the ip address of DHCP server on a different VLAN

    Hello

I have a prolem routing dhcp requests between the vlan management where DHCP server resides and the other VLANs.

I have the scenario of base with three VLANS: vlan 10 (management vlan), 20, 30, configured on a Powerconnect 6224 switch L2 mode. This switch is connected to a pfsense router. The router is configured at the package of road between the VLANS and it does it well.

In Vlan 10, I have a configured DHCP server to use the ip addresses of all the VLANS (10, 20, 30). VLAN 10 client computers receive ip address but not others from other VLANs.

When I put the ip address in the appropriate range of VLANs manually on computers, I ping the server and I have connectivity.

This suggests that the problem is with the dhcp package.

The DHCP server stores information that could be useful? May need to configure monitoring ports and something as wireshark to monitor DHCP packets. This would help determine where the package is stopping.

    example:

Console (config) #monitor session 1 source interface 1/g8

Console (config) #monitor session 1 destination interface 1/g10

session mode 1 #monitor console (config)

right now I don't see anything in the config of the switch that stands out. If the DHCP server is configured for option 82, then you will need to include the following command on the switch.

    Example:

    Trust l2relay console #dhcp (config-if-1/g1)

But I don't think that's our scenario here.

Duplication of port is configured on a single port

    Thank you for your help

The rear modules are not designed for the addition with the switch, so even if this is not the cause of this, unplug the switch before you add modules is the recommended method to add. EnvMontask and BoxReq are for surveillance of the fans and the temperature, so adding a module could be the cause. With what is a PoE switch, it could be a device drawing too much power.

Reloading is probably the best first step to take. In addition, remove the module and update firmware would be the next steps. Is probably not a device connected, but unplug the cables and see if it causes a change in the CPU usage can also be useful.

  • Mirroring of the ports on Dell PC 6224

    Hello

I'm trying to implement Port Mirroring on a PC 6224.

The Setup Guide, I read 'You can configure several ports as source ports switch and port of a switch as a port of destination.'.

But when I try to add a fifth port source port mirroring, it returns the message "no port source more can be added."

session mode 1 #monitor console (config)
Console (config) #monitor session 1 destination interface 1/g24
Console (config) #monitor session 1 source interface 1/g1

Someone has experienced the same problem? Is there a limit in the number of source interface?

  • How to prove the frames break?

I have a pair of Cisco Nexus 5596 switches connected to a Dell Compellent SAN. I'm trying to prove that the SAN sends frames to break from the MAC (flow control) to the Nexus. The Nexus shows the counter "RxPause" incrementing for each interface that is connected to the San. However, the technical support of Dell Compellent representative does not see "TxPause" on the SAN incrementing counter.

In other words: the Nexus says it receives frames break, but said SAN is not send them. It is a direct fiber connection, so one of the two devices is lying. I'm sure it's the SAN, but I need more evidence to show.

I tried a capture of traffic using the commands "the monitor session", but later learned that break mac frames will not be transmitted during a SPAN session like that because receiver interface intercepts and manages them until they can be transmitted.

My question is this: How can I prove beyond a doubt that I get these frames break? Ideally, I would like to have this in a PCAP file because I know people of Dell support will believe they can see in Wireshark. If not, what can I do?

    Thank you!

    Nick

PAUSE frames are consumed at the ASIC level interface and was never sent to the CPU. He will not be captured by SPAN or ethanalyzer.

The counters of pause frames Rx is conclusive evidence that the switch receives breaks. Not sure if its possible for you to install a faucet on the fiber to capture these images, but even once, this will delay just resolution of the actual issue.

I have an IDS/IPS 4215 interface fastethernet 1/0, plugged into a switch, which is part of a demilitarized zone. The same switch that is binding to the interface of the dmz of a PIX 515. I activated some signatures for the trial, including the 2004 ICMP echo request and I am alerted to my PIX ID running events, but not the 4215' detect, which brings me to think about my physical configuration is incorrect. Maybe the switch? I want to do some tests with promiscious mode, IDS, right now, not online. What wiring look like this?

    Thank you

    Bill

    Hello

Try to activate/configure SPAN port (the monitor session) on the switch. The port where the ID was connected was not able to 'see' other traffic through the switch. DURATION/port mirroring is common if you use promiscious instead of inline. But if you use the hub, you can just login and start to see traffic as hub behave differently from the switch.

I guess your DMZ switch 1 a VLan.Configure your switch port connecting the ID as the port of destination, while other ports as source port.

Follow the example in the following link and search for local scope.
