Monitor U2415

I just had a U2415 monitor and it connected via HDMI.  I selected the HDMI input.  But it shows a white screen with the monitor will enter dark energy save mode.  My PC is a Dell Studio XPS and 1 monitor is a U2410 connected to the DVI port.  The U2415 would be a second monitor extended display.  Problem is that the display manager Dell has an error message saying that it requires a monitor Dell support and the connection and the compatible display driver.  I installed the drivers from the cd that came with the monitor and it is automatically updated to the latest version.  I have upgraded to Windows 10 and I tried to install drivers on your support page, but always gave me an error message.  I don't know if I bought the wrong monitor, but since it's the two Dell, I thought that there will be no problem.

Ok. I wasn't aware that you had the discreet video added additional card (5). When a discrete video card is installed, both monitors must be connected to it, not the ports on board. What specific video card? List of all the ports on the video card. What is the serial number on the 8100?

    I just bought two new monitors U2415 off Newegg. Looks decent monitors unless they keep dimming themselves. It's terrible! I don't want my monitors gradation by themselves when I try to use my computer! Please tell me there is a way to disable this option. I already went through the Windows settings and disabled 'adaptive brightness. That make me think that there is a problem with the monitors.

    Crisis averted!

    I've never touched the brightness and contrast settings. When you set the it warns you that "change contrast will disable dynamic contrast.

  • U2415, Dual, laptop Samsung

    I bought two monitors of U2415 and I am trying to connect to my laptop.
    M1 is connected to the computer samsung laptop with HDMI, works very well.

    Tried with daisy connection m2. After contacting Samsung my graphics card does not support the DP1.2

    My laptop also has a VGA output port. I tried a HDMI adapter / VGA, connecting the VGA output to the HDMI adapter and then to the HDMI in the port of M2. Although windows recognize the second monitor, the display function calls it a "Non - PnP monitor generic" with a resolution of 1024 x 768 and the Office of the extension does not work as M2 is black.

    Y at - it an option to connect my laptop with the VGA port of the U2415 as a second monitor? I tried this connection as a single monitor and does not work too well... high-end VGA to HDMI will not work? Is there an adapter? This means I have to return a monitor?

  • U2415, around the gap between the Windows desktop and the edge of the monitor (bezel)

    Hello

    I have a Dell Ultrasharp U2415. I've read all the FAQS and I know I have to perform the SUBMISSION, but before doing so, I just want to know if it is normal to have a gap between the Windows desktop and the edge of the screen. If the Windows desktop is not covering or fill the entire screen. There all around the smaller than a 1/4 "gap between the edge of the windows desktop on the edge of the bezel of the monitor, and this model has almost no bezel. The graphics settings in Windows 10 are set to use the native resolution of 1920 x 1200 monitor. I tried with different computers (all windows 10), and the drivers are up to date. The monitor is connected via HDMI since I don't have portable computers not with DP interfaces. Laptop computers have Intel and ATI video cards. I have check the put option to scale on the video card software and it is set to 100%. So, is this gap normal? Is the edge Office Windows 10 supposed to touch the physical edge of monitors?  If the gap is not normal, I will perform the integrated test.

    TIA!

    Based on the YouTube comments, which seems to be normal. "But you must run the APPLICATION to see if the"smaller than 1/4"gap" appears. If Yes, then we can say that it is normal. If this is not the case, then some settings of the operating system is the culprit.

  • Unpredictable behavior with Dell Ultrasharp U2415 two monitors

    Since I created my two Dell U2415 monitor, I had sporadic problems with one or two of them are not recognized. I have a system Windows 10 T1700 Dell Precision with two monitors. This is the first time I've ever owned monitors that use Mini DisplayPort technology. The problems are:

    1. I would like to turn the monitor OFF the end of the day, because I don't like the brightness of the light emitted by the power buttons when not in service.  But it seems that turn off the monitors always brings problems when I return to the computer the next day. For example, if I turn off the monitors, the next time I turn everything back on, 1 single monitor is recognized. Sometimes, it's the one on the right, and sometimes it's the only one on the left. The other monitor has power, but no entry is recognized and it just says: "Entering Standby Mode" or something like that, and there is no display.  When this happens, there is no 2nd monitor when I go into the control panel display settings. It's as if the monitor is not plugged. I have to restart my PC again (this time, ensuring that both screens are turned on at the time where it restarts), who sometimes feel to come back on two monitors.

    2. on Monday, I'm alerted me to an update of the software Dell Display Manager, so I installed the update. At the end of the day, I've upgraded my PC sleep (leaving turned on monitor). When I came back in the morning, the PC wake acknowledging only 1 monitor. I had to go to the display settings for Windows 10 and extend to the 2nd monitor (why I am able to do it again)?

    Why are these things so delicate?  Is there a specific order in which everything must be turned off and turn it back on so that both monitors will be recognized correctly? Should I wait until my PC is off to turn off the monitors? I turn on the PC BEFORE monitors (or vice versa)? I have to turn on the primary monitor BEFORE the secondary monitor (or vice versa)? There seems to be some magic to all this and I would like to understand exactly what is happening. I want to be able to turn off monitors whenever I like and feel confident that the two be recognized when I've turn them back on. At this point, I'm leaving the power to monitor all the time because of the many problems I had and because I simply do not trust them.

    Thank you

    For the computer to identify a DP/CDM monitors, the monitors must be first, and then the computer graphic card reaches out to monitor DP/CDM opening handshake. Any changes to this order will disrupt the handshake. A computer hibernate or sleep modes tend to confuse the DP/CDM handshake. So I don't use them at all.

  • U2415 monitor the: 'no dp cable' with Inspiron 1774

    I've got new Dell Inspiron 1774, works great. Got new Dell U2415 Monitor to go with it.  I connect to the laptop using an HDMI cable because there is no display on the Dell Inspiron Port.  When I run the monitor I get "No. DP Cable".  I tried to replace the HDMI cable for another, I tried to connect the RFP to USB 3 cable, I tried to install the drivers etc.  Nothing seems to work.  Any help appreciated.

    Hello

    Have you set the HDMI input source?

    Display port is selected as the input source by default in most currently ships of the monitors.

    Thank you

  • U2415, Nvidia GTX 950, monitor wake up after the deep sleep?

    I have two-desktop monitor. We're U2415, connected via mini - dp-> DP and the other is U2311H, connected via DVI on my Strix Nvidia Asus gtx950 video card.

    When starting PC, DVI monitor is always first & fastest even if it's my secondary monitor, but this isn't a problem.

    However, the real problem is when to wake up my PC after monitor deep sleep DP (30 minutes, several hours or more) won't wake up at all. It stays black. I have to manually, press the 'power' 2 times before monitor finally wake up and restoration of 2 desktop screen.

    Before NVIDIA, I got an AMD card and this was never a problem (although I used to connect to U2415 via HDMI). I used the tool to remove all previous video drivers. I'm also using the latest Nvidia drivers, 10 x 64 windows.

    I must point out that when you wake up to a short sleep mode, everything is fine. If I wake up monitors in less than 30 minutes, or so they work as should. I also activated 1.2 DP see if the problem will be solved.

    I am ready to suggestions, what I should check then in Windows, monitor settings etc. ?

    Thank you!

    Looks like the Nvidia driver is slow to launch the DP communication CDM from deep sleep causing the monitor to think that nothing is connected. You could try to test a DP to DP cable and see if the problem persists. One solution would be to connect in this way =
    NVIDIA GTX950 DVI out--> DVI to DVI cable--> DVI U2311H in
    NVIDIA GTX950 out HDMI--> HDMI to HDMI cable--> U2415 HDMI in

  • U2415, its port on the monitor using headphones (ongoing displayport) has an audible hiss

    Hello

    I have trouble with two U2415 SSS monitors that I bought this week, when I plug headphones into the monitor there is a low volume generated from the monitor. When I plug the headphones in the respective computer audio port, there is no whistle - just silence.

    It is not a problem when playing sounds, but saw the helmet wearing while there is nothing else game is boring and it is hard to focus.

    The sound comes on displayport monitors, and the volume is controlled by the operating system (Win10 / OSX via soundflower).

    The computers and monitors are all on the same land/Jack.

    Is it possible to fix this? I am at a loss, and frankly the audio port on the screen is useless in this State. It would be nice to make it work, because it would mean that I could reduce the number of cables, I need to plug / unplug it when you move stuff.

    Please find below information on the installation of my computer (s).

    The computers tested: Custom PC with nvidia gfx, MacBook pro, Asus Zenbook
    * OS: Windows 10, OS x 10.10
    * Video card: Nvidia GeForce GTX670, Intel Iris Pro 5200, GeForce GT 840 M
    * Driver version: Windows Nvidia 355.98, for OSX I don't know
    * Ports: PC: displayport and dvi, mac: lightning/miniDp, zenbook: miniDp
    * Ports used: dp-> miniDp, miniDp-> dp, miniDp-> RFP
    * Cable: the miniDp provided-> dp cable and a 1 m deltaco miniDp-> dp cable
    * Resolution: 1920 x 1200 @60 Hz

    Best regards
    Erik

    Headset must be connected directly to the computer, not on the screen. The U2415 user's Guide page 11 States, "use of the helmet is not supported for the line audio output connector.".

  • U2415 monitor will not connect.

    U2415 monitor will not connect.  Get the message "no connection DP.  New out of the box yesterday from Dell.  Tried the two connectors supplied DP.  Also tried HDMI to HDMI.  I was assured by the sales these last connection was sure to work.  Now the Dell support told me my only option is an expensive (~ $ 60) VGA adapter DP.  My computer is a 18 months, Dell XPS 8700 running windows 8.1.  Looks like a return if this is even possible.  Buy all Dell for 20 years, but maybe it's the end of it.

    The serial number you provided you bring here? Anyway,.

    So there are two ways to connect =

    NVIDIA GeForce GT 635 exit HDMI--> HDMI to HDMI Cable--> U2415 (on the left looking at the back) HDMI in
    * Press the key Menu of U2415
    * Go to the input Source
    * Choose HDMI 1

    NVIDIA GeForce GT 635 DP on--> U2415 CDM DP cable--> U2415 CDM in
    * Press the key Menu of U2415
    * Go to the input Source
    * Choose MiniDisplayPort

    Thanks for the help.

    Robert

    Here is the U2415 User Guide. Page 6 shows that we delivered a mini-cable DP to DP (DP = DisplayPort), not an HDMI cable. Pages 10 and 11 show us that the U2415 has the following video ports =.
    HDMI in
    HDMI in
    DP in
    CDM in
    Out DP

    The Inspiron 580 mid back has two video ports =.
    HDMI output
    VGA output

    You must buy an HDMI cable to HDMI locally.

  • U2415, artifacts monitor after power off for a period of time. Solved by allowing the DP1.2

    U2415 - artifacts monitor after power off for a period of time

    I'm running Win 8 Pro 64 bit, Asus GTX 760. Connected to the U2415 using the miniDP to DP cable.

    It is: after turning off my monitor for a period of time (PC fixed IT), 2 hours or more, after turning it back on, I see lines on the screen.

    I will need to restart the PC for it to be back to normal.

    It will not happen if I turned OFF the monitor for a short period. Only when I turned OFF for a few hours.

    Any ideas? Thank you.

    I downloaded a video on Dropbox. I had it turned on after turning off for about 3 hours.

    Hi Chris, just an update.

    A local forumer had discovered how to solve.

    It was the scene of DP1.2. By default, it is set to "Disable". After that I put to 'Activate' and test it for 2 days, everything seems fine now.

    Hopefully someone will find this useful.

    Thanks Chris.

  • multiple monitors using miniDP and HDMI

    I have a small question, I have 3 monitors (Acer and 2 DELL U2415).

    Currently, I want to have a configuration as follows:

    ACER-> MAC Pro via HDMI

    Both my DELL-> Pro MAC with MiniDisplayPort

    The only problem is, HDMI will work with a miniDP and the other monitor is not recognized and if disconnect the miniDP first then the second - the first and the second will work will not. Apparently he doesn't like HDMI 1 and 2 MiniDP.

    Then I took my ACER and used the HDMI / MiniDP and plugged (essentially the 3 monitors are on MiniDP) it works fine.  However, I think that the cable is not terrible because there are static in the image.

    Can you guys please help me on how to set it up so that my acer still uses the HDMI and connects to the Mac Pro and the other 2 Dells use miniDP cables.

    Thank you.

    Make sure that you have all the monitors on the same bus Thunderbolt.
