Mousepad on laptop no longer works

Original title: help with my laptop

Since yesterday afternoon my mouse pad on my laptop stopped working, I could not right and left click or move the arrow, has been frozen there

First I thought it was because in my laptop I have a button that blocks the mouse pad, but no, it wasn't.
then I plugged a wired mouse I used to have and it worked I could right and left click and move the slider, but I don't like the wired mouse or a USB one I use mostly my mousepad and I used to it
"" So I saw the properties of mouse and a mouse pad and nothing happened, I also did the driver facing upwards, but not worked I re install the driver and the left and right click buttons began to operate, but pad does not, I went to the properties of the mouse, but then a prompt he says "control panel extension is incompatible with the version of the driver" and show the settings of the mouse
And because Im used to the mouse pad, I tried to move the arrow autour and it worked I thought it was fixed, so I closed the window and mouse froze well right and left click button still worked

So, I have to have this window open so that the mouse pad would work

  • Hibernation and standby on the laptop no longer works

All of a sudden, I can't put my computer laptop (Dell XPS M1530, Vista Ultimate) to Hibernate or sleep more. When I click on start, then on Hibernate or standby, the computer goes to sleep or in the State of hibernation for a few seconds and then wakes up again. He has worked for years, and I wouldn't change a thing. I also tried to use the power button, but it does not work either.

    Help!

    Hello CHRISTAPOLKINHORN,

Thanks for the return of the response.  Disable you the ability of the USB device to wake the computer?  You have all the USB devices connected to your computer?

    Please let us know status.

    1. Click Start

      Collapse this includes this image

right click on computerand then click Manage.

    2. In the user account control dialog box, click continue.
      Collapse this includes this image

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.

    3. Click on Device Manager, expand Bus USB controllers, right click on the device, and then click Properties.
    4. Click the power management tab, clear the allow this device to wake the computer check box, and then click OK.

Note We recommend that you use the first solution because it preserves the wake functionality. When you use the second workaround, USB devices cannot wake the computer. In addition, the power button on remote control for an IR of Windows Media Center Receiver cannot wake the computer.

  • USB mouse on the laptop no longer works

I got a laptop HP Compaq for about 3 years now with Windows 7 32 bit. USB mouse to work without problem, just plug and play.

However, sometimes last year I tried to plug in a mouse again and it just doesn't work. I left the problem while I couldn't be bothered, but I really need to get it sorted now!

I tried several mice, who work in other computers or laptops is not the mouse. When I plug it, nothing happens. It gets power as it appears from the red light on the bottom. It has no errors in the Device Manager to all. All that happens when I plug it, is a compatible peripheral extra HID appears under devices to Interface and a HID - Compliant Mouse extra appears under the header mouse.

If I look in Control Panel under mouce, if I go to the device settings tab, it lists only the touchpad.

I tried "Uninstall" the device driver compatible HID and HID - compatible mouse driver by right click and uninstall. But when I plug the mouse in return, they reappear. I also tried to update the drivers, but he said that they are up to date!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Louise,.

I would be grateful if you could answer the following questions:

    1. you receive an error message or error code?

    2. the other USB devices GET recognize by the computer successfully?

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: Let us start by run the hardware troubleshooter and check. Follow the article below for more information:

Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-Troubleshooter

Method 2: If the step above does not help us to diagnose the problem, uninstall the [Universal Serial bus] USB host controller drivers and restart the computer. Let Windows install the generic drivers and then see if it helps you to solve the problem.

    a. open the Device Manager by clicking Start , and then Device Manager button in the search box.

    b. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    c. find the device under [Universal Serial bus] USB host controller, right click above and choose Uninstall.

    d. restart the computer.

    e. to restart, Windows 7 should reinstall the drivers automatically.

It will be useful. For any other corresponding Windows help, do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to help you.

OK, first of all. Excuse me for my bad English and so on.

Now to my problem; I restarted my A200 Satellite a few days ago and when it is turned on and the Vista login screen showed that the keybord and mouse pad react. I think it's a problem related to beause time the keyboard driver and the mouse pad works fine in the BIOS and the Setup screen.
The problem is that Windows will not troubleshoot or install new drivers.

    What should do?

    / JS

    null

You wrote, that Windows will not troubleshoot or install new drivers.
That tell you exactly, and you get an error?
    Can you explain this please?

And it would be interesting that you have the problem with external, internal, or two input devices.

In the worst case, you must reinstall Windows with the recovery disk.

  • EliteBook: portable pen no longer works after reinstalling windows

Windows 7 crashed the week last on my Elitebook.  I have re-installed and now my pen to laptop no longer works.  Can anyone help?

    Thank you.

    Product # XU102UT.

I was able to get a solution.  It seems that when Windows 7 is re-installed which does not include the Wacom driver, which apparently HP uses because apparently HP fired the pen, etc. from Wacom.  So after a couple of hours trying to navigate on the site of HP, I found a download link to the supported Wacom driver and I managed to do the work.

    Thanks for responding.

  • Mouse pads no longer works on laptop

My HP laptop mouse pad stopped working while he was a little older than a year. The drivers are installed, a plug-in works mouse. My HP Tower is over 9 years & runs like a champ, but my laptop is horrible. By completely replacing the hardwear, is there anything else I can do?

Short of taking it apart and replacing your touchpad is your only choice to operate. "Mouse pads" strange that it is usually called the Touchpad of what I know.  If you tried to uninstall the driver, and then reinstall and unresponsive, it would be a sing that the Touchpad no longer works. But since we have no history of usage it could have failed the liquid is spilled on him causing his failure as well. Otherwise, you'll have to disassemble the Palm to get it on the touchpad and replace it or some requires that you replace the complete plamrest'en as part of the palmrest Touchpad.

  • Issue of fan of HP G62 laptop, fan no longer works HELP

Basically, I have a HP G60 laptop and cleaned my fan of compressed air and it stopped my laptop computer overheating etc. etc.

HOWEVER, my other half has a HP G62 laptop and its fan is STRONG and is about to overheat and stop.

So I used can of compressed air to clean his fan BUT he completely stopped turning and now I get the error message saying that the fan is not functioning and is not advised to continue with normal use.

I can get on windows. but compressed air (which EVERYBODY recommends) seems to have completely either broke the fan the fan or the dust blown away and arrested.

After several attempts to reboot it came the short do this ticking noise as if the blades have reached something like it leader (who was slow I might add).

Maybe WHAT the bios has detected the fan was blocked and stopped trying to turn? I don't know that I need help or advice before I dismantle it to clean the fan manually.

I know it's quite tedious to an amateur. fans should be the easiest thing to take the most difficult step, but oh, well...

    HELP PLEASE

Above all, the "right way" consists of disconnect everything (power, battery, any external devices).

    using short, clean air, chips

blowing in the direction that the fan is running normally.

It is possible to make a bad situation worse, of course, but nothing could possibly have a similar end result: laptop on the work table.

Trying to fix something is a good thing in my book.

Failure is never the result of the test, the failure is the result of inaction.

Replace the thermal paste goes beyond to replace a fan. This works.  It may or may not be a DIY project.  As long as you don't actually damage the harddrive (s), at least the data must be secure, even if you damage more the system.

If the girlfriend isn't happy, all things in the universe may end up like the fan.  You could ask him how she wants to go forward - it is his cell phone, Yes?

I do not give advice to hard core on the material, I do not see; I hesitate to give that advice on hw I can see if it's not mine.  I have backup systems - if you don't (and therefore cannot do without this system for a long time if you can't fix it fast), then you can consider having the box repaired by a person who is not personally involved.  It might be much less traumatic.

No matter what you choose, make sure that everyone is in agreement on the action plan.

No matter what you're doing next to what happened to bring you here.  The smile.

BTW: I'm a firm believer in coolers for laptop.  Something to consider for later... You can do a search on my many posts on the subject.  I tend not to "go" on the subject.  The smile.

    Good luck!
