Move disks of 6 Ultra Os 6 to RN 316

I replace my Ultra 6 which I've upgraded to OS 6.5.1 with a RN316,

Can I just move the disks (6 x 4) to the new unit w/o any problems?

Personally, that would be my preference for:

  1. Put on a record of work (cannot be in your table) in the RN316

  2. Update the firmware of the to 6.5.1 RN316

  3. Verify that the update was successful

  4. Turn off both units, remove the disk from scratch and go through the law enforcement the same disks.

But you should be able to just down two units and through the maintenance of the order the same disks.

    Hello

My Toshiba Satellite M70-339 recognizes the DVD movie but not blank blank DVD or CD discs.
It happened some time ago and I'm ever round to sorting. INE day that only, it has stopped working.

I have since reformatted all the computer several times, but it has never begun work again.
I can watch a movie, a DVD OK, but when I try to burn anything to a DVD or CD, it don't think that there is a disc in the machine to engrave on Virgin.

I tried the software built into Windows XP, burning CD and it does not work, nor does any third-party CD or DVD burning software.

Just to reiterate, I want to be able to burn the files to CD/DVD again.
    Can someone advise?

  • Move disks between 2 systems?

I spend an equal amount of time in two separate residences. So far, I've been carrying my computer back. I'd rather have a computer at each location and just carry the internal disks (3 disks: 1 system and 2 players data). But Windows won't complain whenever I go back between residences and think that I'm using a new computer every time?

In addition, Windows Enterprise 8.1, I have Office Pro 2013, Visual Studio 2013 and Expression Studio Ultimate. They are all installed with a volume license key.

Even if I tried to use keys of separate licence for each of the locations, I think that I would still have problems. How could possibly use on the same system drive separate license keys?

I don't want to have an installation of software separated in different partitions for each residence. The purpose of carry readers is that I don't need to maintain two separate software installations.

If you do this, you will need to reactivate Windows each time and eventually you will do it by phone.

What you want to do is really not possible.

  • Move ROW with dynamic disk to another virtual machine

    Hello

I'm in a situation where I have to leave my RDM Win2003 VM to win2008, but the complexity and multiple physical RDMs here make only dynamic partition (RDM1 1.5 TB, RDM2 1.5 TB, is drive G RDM3 1 TB 4 TB),

Now my question is if I can move this partition of G (which includes 3 disks RDM) again an another VM (win2008)

    Thanks, SD

    Hello

This does not resemble a specific question VMware.  On the contrary, seems like a question of Microsoft Windows.  Just make sure the hosts on which the virtual machine of 2008 runs can see the same ROW and follow this procedure to remove dynamic disks of the virtual machine of 2003 and add them to the virtual machine of 2008.

  • Move drive VM to a to another data store

    Hi guys,.

In my environment, we divided the data banks on two virtual machines. I'm migrating all the drives in a data store to another by using the following code.

    Mr G

    Hello

as commented, there maybe more than 2 with the name "f1aa01_nfs_hoss01" data warehouses (in different hosts).

When using powercli, that's not a good practice to have more than one data store with the same name.

You must change the name of the data store (s), in order to have a single data store with the same name.

Until you do this, the powercli script will fail!

  • VIC SVmotion Plugin not able to move VMDK and leave the rest

I use ESX 3.5 update 4 with the 1.0.0.0 SVmotion plugin.  I have a virtual machine that has 2 disc two currently on the store of data even zFCP.  I wan to move the second disk (D:\) in the first disc on the zFCP data store and a SATA data and survey the VM store.  I right-click the virtual machine, select storage to migrate, and I emphasize the second disc.  I can drag it to the SATA data store and click on apply.  After a few seconds, I get the error message:

The requested Storage VMotion would move disks to a virtual machine without affecting the virtual machine, a new home page, but such an approach is not supported on the host source "hostname".

If I try to move the VM together with the two discs, which works very well, but I only want the second disc.  Is it possible to move one disk of a virtual machine and do not have to move the entire virtual machine?  I thought that the SVmotion point should have the ability to move around VMDK.

    Thank you

you will need to do this, use the remote CLI.

First install the VI remote CLI, you can download it from the following locations.  http://www.vmware.com/download/vi/drivers_tools.html.

Open a command prompt, and then navigate to the bin directory in C:\Program VMware VI remote CLI\.

Then, run the following command to put the svmotion in interactive mode

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware VI remote CLI\bin > svmotion.pl - interactive

It will then ask you to enter your coordinates of VC and once you are connected to the VC, you need to enter the name of your datacenter (case sensitive)

then it will ask you to enter the location of the vmx

Enter the path of the data of the virtual machine (for example MyVM/MyVM.vmx store

then it will ask you to enter the name of the destination database (in your case the SATA data store name)

then you will be prompted by the following

you will be prompted with the following message if you VM disks.

You can also move the disks regardless of the virtual machine.  If you want to stay with the VM disks, then skip this step...

You would individually place the disks (yes/no)?

    type Yes

It will now ask you to enter the path of your vmdk, so you must enter the path for the two discs.

  • Swap HDD PSAAQE Equium A100 - 01 M - would be Crucial M4 work SATA III SSD 64 GB?

I have a friend in a bit of a State with their incredibly slow laptop; I have a spare old M4 of Crucial 64GB SATA and a couple of hours free in the morning. I said I would try to help and my plan is to swap the drives.

I see from the [Manual | http://www.toshiba.co.uk/innovation/tracker.jsp?file=http%3a%2f%2fsupport1.toshiba-tro.de%2ftedd-files2%2f0%2fuserman-en-20090212142351.zip] that there is a recovery partition.

I have one of these USB to SATA led and I really was hoping if someone could let me know something that Googling it has not revealed so far that is:

1: what SATA is this laptop? Is it 1 or 2? This player works on it?
2: what is the best method to copy the current structure of disk and partition? Preferably leaving the data not copied partition as this will be a full recovery.

Is that all I need to know?
Sorry if this IS answered elsewhere, but I have 2 hours to do, I do it for free, and I just googled this morning already.

    Thank you!

    Hello

    > 1: what SATA is this laptop? Is it 1 or 2?

As much as I know the satellite and the Satellite A100 supports SATA I controller.
The two series are the same.

    > This disc will work on it?
Well, since the SATA standard is backward compatible, the SSD should work but with lower performance.

    > 2: what is the best method to copy the current structure of disk and partition?
There are different options. You can use the Toshiba Recovery disk to reinstall the system on the SSD drive. Personal data (documents, pictures, mp3, etc.) could be copied to a USB flash to move disk of the SDS.

You can also create an image of your partitions and after installing the SSD drive, you can use the image file to recover partitions

In some cases, manufacturers of SSDS provides tools/software specific to a product such procedure too.

  • Replacing drive in XP Home

I replaced my c drive after a virus.  The new drive will not recognize the slave. It appears in disk management with a dynamic disk with a yellow mark. The right side is empty. When I use command prompt and follow the steps in the help section, it says that dynamic disks are not supported by this system. The only option I have is to convert it to a basic disk (which is what the c drive is listed as). Do that I lose all my data and programs. How do XP recognize the drive that was there before I replaced the c drive?

    Hello

To access data on the disk, you must add the disk to your computer's system configuration. To add a disk to your computer's system configuration, import foreign disks (right-click the disk and then click import foreign disks). All existing volumes on the foreign disk become visible and accessible when you import the disk. For instructions describing how to move and import disks, see to move disks to another computer

  • PowerEdge 2900 caddy LED does not

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    TORTUGA415
Please forgive my ignorance, but if the readers of 0 and 1 are raid 1 and the rest of the raid 5 drives is not important what slots are used for all readers?  I could just turn it off and move and lights without problem?

No, it does not matter where the readers are. You have a RAID 5 with 0/2/4 disks and a RAID 1 with 1/3 of the discs. Drive Roaming is also supported, but that does not mean you should go swapping disks around willy-nilly. If you have a spare slot, move disk 0 at this location.

    TORTUGA415
in your opinion, if all the diagnostics extraction you are not as I have a problem with the player who is not on just one drawback, correct?

Yes, but confirm with diagnoses - it is probably a bad LED on the backplane.

  • General issue of file on why my data store has 3 files with a _1 and _2

OK, I'm a little new to this thing of VMware, but I was the main actor in this migration and have been the building and move all our servers to our ESX 3.5 with a back-end SAN platform.

I did well until this weird thing, that I think that I understand, but I just don't know how to solve, or how it happened.  And right next to the bat, no I did not the instant code with this server... those that have been cleaned in the time there... Now

    My situation:

I have virtual machines that are created equal, that they all have a 'C' drive for the operating system on another dedicated "LUNS for OS Storage" and then they have their readers of 'd' of the newspapers "SQL" on a dedicated LUN in mirror, and then the 'E' drive is on dedicated aonther "LUN DATA.

If all servers have 2 or 3 LUNS associated with them. That's how the SAN engineer and I designed it. OK works great.  Until one day, I noticed that I was shy about 40 GB space on my SQL LUN. Took time but I think I found the culprit, but I don't know how to solve this problem, or if it will break my dose. So here I ask you all.

One of my servers called "Server01" has 2 drives associated with it and supposedly 2 / 2 data warehouses, or even what he had initially when it was built in August!

Now, the operating system data store is fine.

When I'm on Console V and I click with the button straight on my server and go to his 'change settings' is what I see:

SERVER01of properties on the "change settings of ' Advanced ' your drive hard 1" to the appropriate LUN and all the VMDK and those files are there. ""  (IE OS LUN 10)

But "hard drive 2" pointing to the right LUNS (IE SQL LUN11), but his record is called "server01_2"?  What?    She was built and given a hard drive on this LUN, but the name of the folder is wrong.   So I'll browse my store data and low and this is, I have 3 files with the same server name (IE... ( Server01, Server01_1, Server01_2 ) OK so what happened? Why? How? and how in the heck can I get my space back 40gig?

I checked records the name of the original server, as well as the other files on the data store with the numbers in the annex of _1 and 2 and they have all VMDK files in it... of course dates on all the VMDK files are different and I guess that since the server points to the folder called + "SERVER012" + and its VMDK file has the most recent data buffer on this subject since the last Vmotion We did it, he must then use this folder.

OK great... but now that messes up my folder structure, and if this server does not use other VMDK files and folders he ate up to 40 GB of my precious space!

I'm pretty sure when I went on vacation last year, because it is the time of the timestamp on the VMDK files in older records and "dates of the task of the procedures as" trying to clone, suspend, model, reconfgure, snapshot "etc. that the other members of the team tried to do something, which lead to my having 3 files on my store of data with 3 VMDK files in them.?  Nobody seems to know or remind us what it is they are trying to do... great... Well...

I just want to know + If the server points to a folder called "Server01_2" and it has the most recent date stamp on this subject, can I then rename other files? + and then I can delete them?   And if I successful, how can I get my server to have the name of the correct folder again?    Instead of a * _2* on the end of it?

Any suggestion would be great!    I learned the hard way that if your VM operating system is built and pointing to a file with a specific name, and you try to rename it to match the server, your operating system does not start!. LOL I hope that is not the case with a folder that has a 20gig assigned to HDD with oner VMDK file in it...

    Help!

    Thank you

    DAWNE

No problem.  Cold migration allows you to move all your files in a data store.  You can use svmotion to move disks to different LUN, but the syntax is somewhat more complex.  The help option shows exactly how to move a machine virtual disk at a time.  Basically, you can move a disk with the config file, so basically, you move the config file and the disk of your choice in the data store that you need.  Move back the config for the original data store file, then repeat the process with the next disc.

  • Moving the virtual computer configuration file and work on the clone of the model

Using the VirtualMachineRelocateSpecDiskLocator to move disks from different NFS data warehouses when cloning a model looks very good work.  However, the Virtual Machine configuration file and the location of work remain on their original NFS data storage, not moving with the root of the drive.

If this move not all together, or am I missing a step here?

    Thank you

    Scott

Specifying the "data store" in VirtualMachineRelocateSpecDiskLocator specifies the location of the VM virtual disks only. To move the virtual machine, it might also be necessary to specify "datastore" property of "VirtualMachineRelocateSpec. If this is not specified, the current data store is used to store the files of the virtual computer.

I have a 64 bit dual xeon Quad core server with 16 GB of ram. I've played with SUSE that came with the box, but don't know if I want to stay with her.

I like the idea of being able to shoot my records of a operating system failed and slams them into another server and start of my Virtual Machines and know if I go down the

Path SUSE, I'll be hozed and won't be able to do! I already have two 2003 servers hosting the VMserver.

Is Microsoft 2003 server 64-bit the best choice for my host operating system

    Hello

If you go from material identical to the identical material then SuSE won't work. And if it is not the same as there is also a good chance that it will work as long as the SCSI/RAID device is the same. Or if start you the rescue disk device and recreate the initrd image. In general, I've never had issues moving from Linux to a host to another. I had problems worst move disks from host to host Windows. HAL/repair fixes have been painful at least.

Use of ESXi could mitigate this problem entirely.

  • SanDisk Ultra 32 gb, looks like a removable disk but not volume

    Hello

I am new to this forum and have traveled all over and the rest of the internet to find a solution but could not find something that works.

I have a few readers Sandisk Ultra 32 GB Ultra (not back to the top of those).  They worked fine for the last year or two, but recently I can't display the data on my Vista 64 bit PC.

They show as a removable drive and when I click on them, they show as empty.  I look at the properties and both used space and free space is 0.

In Device Manager, they show under hard drives.  I tried to change the drive (as well as the removal of the letter) letters and nothing seems to show the volume.   It seemed to me remember what they used to appear under my front USB controllers, so I wonder if things now of Vista, it's a different type of player.

There are video files on the disks and I have confirmed that they work because I can still play the USB drives via my USB drives BluRay port.

I uninstalled the drive then plugged found Vista and then he said that he successfully installed the driver and back in.  There are no conflicts in Device Manager when it is plugged.

I have used other USB drives (thought the USB port was dead) and 3 other discs (2 other Sandisk and 1 Kingston) times Plug and work perfectly.  It's only the Sandisk Ultra that I have the problem with.  Other Sandisk 2 those who are not of the Ultra.

I tried to copy files to the disc just to check if it was reading wrong volume, but it actually gets a message that the location of my source files is missing, which is strange because I can move the files to other drives or places, but she only errors when I try and place it on the Ultra with volume 0.

I'm totally stumped.  I hope someone can help.

I should just wait a few more minutes to do a little more research.

    My apologies.

The questions got Samsung Kies.  I stopped the process running in the background and it worked perfectly.

    Everything was good.

    Feel bad display.

  • Beachball of death / impossible to find movie files shown in disk utility

Then, I started having the awesome beachball.  All the time.  I tried first aid utility disk, in addition to empty my cache dyld.  Seems to have worked.  Looking for a solution to this as well as when I ran disk utility, it shows that I have 380 + GB of movies.  And hoping the clearing space will decrease the appearance of the beachball if nothing else.

I realized that I had a bunch of movies sitting in a folder I have is no longer necessary, so I deleted, emptied the Recycle Bin and rebooted.  Twice.  And disk utility still shows that I have who have lots of space consumed by the movies.  I did a search through the fichiers.mp4/.mov/.m4v/etc finder and come up with very little.

Is there something else I can / does not?  I'm not really wanting to download third party software however.

And it is solved after leaving it alone for a while.  Probably just needs some behind the scenes stuff to happen.
