  Windows Fax and scan is characteristic in construction, there is not a specific driver for the same thing.

  There is no specific driver to convert file types. All types of files are taken in charge and compatible fax and scan.  But when you scan a document, you can save the file in the file format you want to save.

  b. navigate to the key:

  d. click on 'ArchiveFolder' in the right pane
  e. check its content is "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\WindowsNT\MSFax".

  Don't forget that the scanner cannot be shared as a printer. It must be directly connected by cable to the computer that you use to analyze - not connected to another computer on the network. The exception is a scanner printer wireless connected to a wireless router.

  From my research, I can tell you that it is one of the most frustrating problems with MFPs. I am happy to say that I discovered the solution, after a lot of experimentation.

  The first thing to know is that Windows Fax and Scan uses Windows Image Acquisition. Therefore, your printer must have a WIA driver. According to this article in the knowledge base on the Canon Website:

  Windows 8 has a native WIA driver for the Canon MP990. It's just a matter of persuading Windows 8 to install the driver.

  In addition, it is useful to check if the Acquisition of Image Windows service is running, but it almost certainly works.

  If you have already installed the Canon MP990 then it appear in devices and printers as a printer. I discovered that, in my case, the MP990 is only installed as a printer. You want to be installed as a printer and a scanner.

  To do so, go to devices and printers, and follow these steps:

  1. Select "add a printer".
  2. Click on ' the printer that I wan't is not listed. »
  3. On the next screen, add your MP990 printer by any method there is.
  4. Let Windows install the MP990 (again). Since the MP990 was already installed as a printer, the only thing left for Windows install is the scanner.

  We have recently added a second server (Windows Server 2008) to a domain AD., because the new server has more resources, we moved all the DOCUMENTS folder to users from the server (Server 2003) network share to address liked to a share on the new Server 2008 machine.   I changed the location of DOCUMENTS in Windows 7 for Server 2008 sharing, but Fax and Scan keeps searching for the old stock 2003 server and I cannot find where to redirect them. Can I turn off Windows fax and analysis services to the title of printing and scanning and then restore? That will allow me to redirect to the correct folder? I have tried even to search the registry for references to the old stock but still can't seem to locate the old server to the MANY DOCUMENTS reference.
