Hello

1. don't you make changes before the show?
2 How long have you been faced with this problem?

Try these steps and check the result.
Method 1: Unregister Windows Installer and then reregister Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:
1. in the "Start" menu, type cmd, right-click cmd, and then click Run as administrator.
2. in the command prompt, type msiexec /unreg and then press ENTER.
3. in the command prompt, type msiexec/regserver, and then press ENTER.

Method 2: If the problem persists, check to see which program uses the installer of windows at startup of the system.
1. follow "step 1: perform a clean boot ' to disable all non-Microsoft services, restart the computer and check if the problem still persists: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us
2 If the problem does not persist in the boot, try "step 2: enable half the services" to "step 6: resolve the problem" to find what is causing the problem: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us
When you have found the culprit, uninstall it.
3. follow "step 7: reset the computer to start as usual.

Try the steps and post back with the results, so that we can help you further.

We use the exact and some error message in more detail on the issue.  This problem occurs with any file on the disk or only some of them?  You are logged as administrator?  Has anything changed recently (hardware or software)?

The first thing I would say to run a Virus scan and malware.  If you do not have an antivirus program, then you can get one here: http://www.microsoft.com/Security_essentials/

If there are no problems found then not try the following steps:
    Run the following commands.

    Chkdsk /r

    sfc/scannow

  • I'd like to find which version of windows install I have?

I have a HP Deskjet F4140 printer all-in-one. I work with vista 32 home premium.

I have the installation disc and have also tried uninstall and install directly on the site of HP but get the error that says: "the device is not found" when you try to use the scan function. A possible solution is to check that I'm using the latest version of windows install. How can I check that I have.

Press Win + R key combination to bring up the window "Run" and then type "msiexec" in the immediate window and press OK. You should see a pop-up window that shows the version number at the top.

  • MsiExec.exe is broken in Windows XP

I came across this problem 2 weeks ago. Found that msiexec.exe has been broken.
Rename the exec and dll does not solve the problem, although the dll have been resettled after rebooting twice. The executable was not.
Download the reinstallable has not worked (i.e. wrong version of Windows) because I had SP2.
So I backed up the data and removed the SP2. Took me 2 hours. And it worked!
MsiExec.exe was restored and updated correctly adobe acrobat.

A day later SP2 has been installed using auto-update. I did not have the updates since then, so I'm not sure that it still works.

    Hi JosVaassen,

Work of msiexec.exe is not dependent on Windows XP Service Pack 2.

You try to install any program to confirm the same.

  • MsiExec.exe * 32 keeps trying to install when I start my computer

MsiExec.exe * 32 keeps trying to install when I start my computer

    Hi id75080

Thank you for using the Microsoft Answers Forums!

When you get this error? You try to install a program? Or just come to the top when you restart?

    Try these steps and check:

Step 1: Stop and restart the Windows Installer Service.

    1. click on the Start button or press the Windows keyboard.

    2. in the search box, type Services and then click on the Services element that appears at the top.

    3. expand the Services window and then scroll down to Windows Installer.

    4. right click on the Windows Installer list item and then click on stop, right click again and then click Start.

Step 2: Unregister and re-register Windows Installer.

To do this, follow these steps:
    1. click on start and then click Run.
    2. in the Open box, type msiexec /unreg and then press ENTER.
    3. click on start and then click Run.
    4. in the Open box, type msiexec/regserver, and then press ENTER.

    Step 3: SFC Scan

The SFC utility allows administrators to perform an analysis of all protected resources to make sure they are the correct version. Whether SFC should find all incorrect versions in one of these protected resources, SFC will be replaced by the correct versions.

You can still run a sfc on the windows vista computer scan. To run a scan suite sfc as follows:

    a. Click Start, in the start search bar type cmd, right-click on the command prompt icon in the box programs and then click Run as administrator.

    b. at the command prompt type sfc/scannow , and then press ENTER.

NOTE: you must log in using the administrator account and try to install it like that. Or you can also try running the program by right clicking and select "run as Administrator". It should work.

Step 4: Utility Windows Install CleanUp:

Windows Installer CleanUp Utility may be able to help. You can use the utility to remove installation information for programs that were installed by using Windows Installer. Remember that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility does not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall on.

Download the latest version from the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en

    Refer to: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/290301/

NOTE: , We can have only a single anti-virus installed / running on your computer at any time. Conflicts, system crashes and frost can occur if you have an Anti Virus installed and running on the computer.

    Step 5: Windows install

We need to install the latest version of Windows Installer that is 4.5, the link to it is:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en

Restart and check if you get the same error.

After back and let us know if it helped to solve your problem.

  • WUDFHost.exe excessive usage of memory and CPU in clean boot Windows 7

I received occasional warnings that my memory is insufficient, despite a few open programs and 16 G installed. The Task Manager shows WUDFHost.exe consuming huge (but highly variable) amounts, generally well beyond 1 G and often 4 +, and also taking significant CPU resources. Problem persists restart and after disabling boot minimum all but Microsoft services. The machine is very new Dell Latitude E7450 processor and controller 64 bit running Windows 7 Enterprise Edition (service pack 1). All critical windows updates have been installed.

After further investigation it appears this use of memory by increasing the WUDFHost continuously as long as the computer is running, even if the rest.

You are right. It's the media base wireless.

I updated my drivers of deployment with the cited drivers but the problem is still there. This could be linked with another installed driver that he was working on my test machine.

I'll leave this disabling of the device until I find it.

    I'm happy to help.
