I tried several times to install CSI: Hard evidence, but it doesn't seem to work and I still get this error message

The Windows Vista Compatibility Center shows CSI: Hard Evidence is compatible with Windows Vista 32-bit, but the status is UNKNOWN for 64 - bit. Since you mention not what kind of computer you have I don't know if this is your problem or not.
There is a version of patch 1.1 which can not be installed. Click here for a link to the UBISOFT Web page.
If the patch does not help, I suggest you post in the Ubisoft forums for assistance to get the game installed.

This problem may occur if the following conditions are met:
- A Desktop.ini file exists in one or more of the following folders, where drive is the drive on which Windows is installed:
- drive: \Documents and Settings\All Users\Menu Menu\Programs\Startup
- drive: \Documents and Settings\All Users\Menu run\programs
- drive: \Documents and Settings\All Users Menu
Method 1: Delete the Desktop.ini file
- Start Windows Explorer.
- On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the view tab.
- In the area of Advanced settings , click on to disable the Hide extensions for known file types check box and the check box that Hide protected operating system files (if they are not already turned off), and then click OK.
- Delete all occurrences of the Desktop.ini file that contains the lines described earlier in the "Symptoms" section of this article. To do:
- Locate each of the following folders, right-click the Desktop.ini file, (if the file exists in that folder), and then click Open:

- In the Open box, type msconfig, and click OK.
- Click the Startup tab.
- Clear the check box next to any Office entered into the column of the startup item that are referred to as common startup in the location column and can be found in one of the following locations (as indicated in the command column):
- drive: \Documents and Settings\All Users\Menu Menu\Programs\Startup
- drive: \Documents and Settings\All Users\Menu run\programs
- drive: \Documents and Settings\All Users Menu
- Click OK to quit the System Configuration utility.

Thank youI think that another procedure also credit Xircal will work for your script, so I copy and paste it here. This assumes that you have no subfolder named bits in the system32 folder
Here are the steps to follow if you have qmgr.dll in C:\WINDOWS\system32
- Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32, right-click and select new | Folder
- Name bits (lower case) If you lose the highlight, click on new folder to select it again and then hit F2. Delete "new folder" and rename it to bits
- Open C:\WINDOWS\system32 still once, find qmgr.dll, right-click and choose copy from the menu.
- Open C:\WINDOWS\system32\bits and choose Paste. You should see qmgr.dll appear in the bits folder.
- Then, go to Start, run , and copy/paste: regsvr32 qmgr.dll and click OK (If you have run on the start menu, hit instead of key Windows + R)
- Do the same with this file: regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll
- Restart the PC and then copy / paste this command into the field run:
%windir%\System32\rundll32.exe setupapi, InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\inf\qmgr.inf - If you are prompted to insert the Windows installation CD, ignore this and in the dialog at the bottom where it says copy the files, change the path to C:\WINDOWS\system32
- Restart the PC and then go to the Services and you should be able to see BITS in the list. Open the Services menu, go to start / run, copy and paste services.msc and click OK.
- In the Background Intelligent Transfer Service BITS or is visible in the list, double-click it, and then click on the Start button. This step is just a test to make sure it works properly.
- If you get 2 error: cannot find the specified file, click on start, then run again and copy / paste the following command, and then click OK:
Tracking Add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BITS\Parameters /v ServiceDll /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d %windir%\System32\qmgr.dll - Reboot again and try once more to start the PIECES. It should work fine now, but in the unlikely case where it fails again, run the following command, and then press ENTER:

I have a Dell Vostro 1500 running Windows XP Home edition. During the Windows boot the system falls down and shows the error in the title above. I replaced and improved hard drive and modules memory live with Dell components and tried to launch the system to start disk. Same result screen, blue with the unknown hard Error\Systemroot\System32\ntdll.dll STOP: 0000221. Then new hardware configuration and system bootable drive equals the same result. Any advice will be appreciated.
Thank you, everyone, for all the good advice and help. Interestingly, I used a reinstall drive different (one for the same version of Windows XP SP2), and it worked fine. I think this would indicate that the original disk could have been the cause of the problem, but I tried to install the operating system with this drive just to be safe, and it worked. It should be noted that I did no changes to the machine until I tried the new disk, then retried first that I tried to use to reinstall the operating system. This suggests that, regardless of the problem, he don't has not been caused a constant problem.

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.Unfortunately, the SFC stated that it was unable to fix some corrupted files. At this point, you will need to install on-site to fix the corrupted files before you try other troubleshooting procedures. What it will do is to replace all the files of Vista. It does not all installed programs or any other data.
HOWEVER, before attempting any such repair, you must make sure, you have a current backup of your system *. **
Note: If your installation disc doesn't include SP1, you must uninstall it before proceeding with an update and you are updated to SP2or install. To remove the service pack, click: Start-> Control Panel-> programs-> see installed updates, select Service Pack for Microsoft Windows , and then click on Uninstall.

I have Windows Office home and Student 2007 and a 64-bit system. Install a program or, if such is already installed, create an association in the default programs control panel. The program cannot start because MSVCR71.dll is missing on your computer. You may need to resave MSVCR71. DLL or scanner and update/replace it.
- First Explorer to make sure that there is a copy of MSVCR71. DLL in the folder c:\Windows\System32. Alternatively, click Start and typemsvcr71.dll. It should be the only thing listed above. Right click, Properties should check its location in c:\Windows\System32.
