• Multi-site VPN problem

  I practice implementation of VPN and it seems to have fallen on a small issue that solution eludes me.  Everything works in my current topology with the exception of a multi-site vpn.  I have 3 ASA, which is outside the interface is connected via a switch.  The inside interface is connected to a local area network that contains a workstation on each subnet.  I'm trying to set up a solution where I can have all 3 ASA related between them via a VPN.  The question I have is when I raise a single tunnel, scathing from a workstation behind the ASA, I can't set up a second tunnel scathing from a different network.  To explain that better, here is an explanation:

  ASA #1

  outdoors: 10.0.1.1/24

  inside: 192.168.0.1/24

  workstation: 192.168.0.100

  ASA #2

  outside: 10.0.1.2/24

  inside: 192.168.1.1/24

  workstation: 192.168.1.100

  ASA #3

  outside: 10.0.1.3/24

  inside: 192.168.2.1/24

  workstation: 192.168.2.100

  If I ping 192.168.0.100 192.168.1.100, the tunnel opens very well and I get answers.  If I can try and ping 192.168.0.100 192.168.2.100, does not open the tunnel to 192.168.2.0.  If I clear all its on ASA #1 and then ping 192.168.0.100 192.168.2.100, the tunnel opens very well and I get a response.  Then I try and ping 192.168.0.100 192.168.1.100 and the same thing happens, no tunnel and no response.  When I enabled logging on ASA #1 seems that it sends the ping for the different network on the tunnel open instead of opening a new tunnel to the correct network.  Can someone tell me what is happening here and if I just missed something simple with routing?  Or is it maybe a problem with VPN?

  You have default route badly configured on all the ASA. Here's what you have configured

  ASA1

  Route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.0.1 1

  It's sendning the package for outside inside IP address. Here's what you need to do on the ASA

  ASA1

  No route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.0.1 1

  Route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.0.1.2

  ASA2

  No route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.1.1 1

  Route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.0.1.1

  ASA3

  No route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.2.1 1

  Route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.0.1.1

  Also delete icmp access list crypto that you allowed to what IP is the same access list. IP covers both the ICMP.

  Kindly let me know change default allows traffic.

  If a Codec has multi-site option key and entered a VCSC and is migrated to a CUCM system saved:

  A.) multi-site option button will still be available for use on the Codec?

  (B) can plan for TMS to it, and no need of a conductor based GST to serve the meeting?

  You don't mention what version of endpoint and software, however, the endpoint can use the Multisite option even after it has migrated to CUCM, see sx20-cucm for reference.

  Endpoint can also be using TMS planning conferences that are hosted on microcontroller embedded in endpoint as long that you have added in TMS, please refer to Guides Admin TMS on how to add endpoints CUCM managed in TMS.

  You make very valid points, but I just check our Guide to planning and Architecture on this and we do not specify "in scenarios where a view deployment must cover data centers, create a separate view deployment for each data center." Since the deployment of the view includes vCentert, it really doesn't mean a complete split.

  Pass both sides then the VCs? Or should I do 1 site at a time?

  I got a response from William Lam via the virtuallyGhetto forum

  "Yes, or you can just update a single site (since the PSC are backward compat) and get the two PSC/VC, updated before moving on. Two options could work, as long as you update the PSC before the VC upgrade"

• Extend the L2 VLAN multi-site WAN

  I have several sites connected over a MPLS network provider, everything works as expected, have full connectivity L3 in all these sites.

  I now need to establish layer 2 connectivity (VLAN) on the 21 sites. Ideally, I would intend to attach additional routers behind routers of THIS (don't have no access to these suppliers or PEs, but provider may re - configure BGP on the CE peer with our device) and use a port on these routers as port Lan Layer 2, but do not know which technology to use

  1. L2TPv3 comes to mind, but can L2TPv3 works in a multipoint configuration? Can I have a site as a hub and others like rays and talk through the hub? Traditional using L2TPV3 config, how do I use multiple Xconnects for the same VLAN on the same interface?
  2. Worse, I can run on (also our new routers VPLS PEs) MPLS VPLS, but seems like overkill.

  What you guys say is the most simple/more elegant solution for this puzzle?

  L2TPv3 does not support multitouch.  It can perform point to point.

  VPLS does support multitouch, but you need much more expensive kit to do.

  I currently can do a site VPN between two routers, but I need a little help on how to add another site to the config. Sites remote only need to talk to the router base so I shouldn't need free WILL, but I'm not sure what is the right way to add additional hosts. It seems that I can only add a card encryption to a physical interface so, how do you add the other site?

  You can do it. Source peer ip address is an address that corresponds to your address outside. But you can have several pairs of destination and policies that can be assigned to the same router.

  I find a Cisco wireless solution to deploy in my company. Now, we have wireless 3com at HQ and branch offices don't have wireless network.

  My idea is to stop all the 3Com network and deploy a centralized Cisco wireless network. If I install Wireless Lan Controller at HQ and deploy several APs HQ offices and branch, could I management all points of this WLC?

• Commissioning for lack of Exchange because of the latency in Multi Site domain controllers

  I use using the OIM 11 g R2 PS2 BP04 with AD-connector version (11.1.1.6.0 & AD 2010) and the Version of the Exchange Connector (11.1.1.6.0 & Exchange 2010) and its installed on RHEL 6.5. We have 20:00 domain controllers and each of them is in a different site. Here is the list of domain controllers:

  DC-host1,DC-HOST2,DC-site2-host1,DC-SITE3-host1,DC-SITE4-host1...etc

  We use automatic configuration AD access strategies and resources the user Exchange and configured as domain controllers in AD IT resource:

  DC-HOST1 - primary

  DC-HOST2 - secondary

  AD resource provisioning works fine however when IOM tries to configure exchange to the user, its failure due to the latency issue b & w AD different Site of the domain controller. For example, "PRODTESTUSER12" is implemented successfully in AD and when IOM tries to configure exchange for this user, exchange server search for any available domain controller search for the user. It randomly selects an AD domain controller, I say DC-SITE2-HOST1 to search for the user. Since this domain contorller is on another site and it is latency, its not able to find the user of this domain controller, this is why available exchange fails for this user. See the below error:

  I have 3 sites, each with 3 different domains and active directory 3 vCenter servers.  I use only external PHC.  In this scenario that I have 3 different areas of the SSO can also or I join all my private security companies to one area of SSO?

  OK... so you need only add the source of identity for each of your Active Directory directory and do this procedure in one of your PSC and this change is replicated to the other PSC.

  Don't forget to ask the users to use the format username@domain when connection on vSphere Client... and you can set one of your identity as the source of identity source by default, and the default value, one that you can connect without specify the @domainname.
