My 157 A60 loses power and cheated on battery

A few weeks ago my power adapter A60 stopped working so I replaced it with a universal adapter. I checked if it was compatible with Toshiba laptops and plugged.

When I use my dvd player, or burn videos to dvd the power of the adapter to the battery switches and I only have a battery installed in my laptop. It's weird because as soon as I remove the disc it switches back on current alternative.

I'm assuming that the AC adapter is defective somehow because I never had this problem with the original Liteon power supply that came with the laptop.

Does anyone have any ideas or ways to cure the problem? I'm fairly certain that the adapter is defective and cut the power off when the drive is in use, but it's a strange thing happens.

Just to add - if your laptop goes off (as mine did!) blow through the grill and fan and remove dust. A straw is usually the case. It is solved the problem of disabling for me.

Hello

I suspect that your 'universal' adapter is not able to provide enough current when your laptop is important on this issue, for example when you use your optical drive. It is likely that your adapter has an overload protection system that cuts the power when a too heavy load is placed on it.

Kind regards

    Hello!

    I have a Satellite P850-12Z.
I used it yesterday when the screen went white. The power light was off, even though it was plugged and it could not turn on with the switch. I've left to cool to room temperature (which is fairly low, at about 20 ° C) and tried again, still no response to any input. I removed the battery to try just AC, still nothing, tried the opposite and it's the same result.

At the time I used it I used it just for word and open some tabs on chrome, none of which should put under duress at the time of the failure that it was warm to the touch, but not hot.

My first assumption of the cause was the adapter has failed, but because she had a full battery that seemed unlikely.
Second guess is that power management must be fried.
Last assumption is that the CPU is fried.

Anyone would be able to shed some light on this for me, it is possible to repair my laptop, I need it for work and college.

Oh and its out of warranty of one year.

    Thank you
    Silveress.

    Hello

Sorry to hear that you have such a problem with your machine. Try to reset your machine please. Disconnect the power and remove the battery. After doing this press the power for about 20 seconds and leave it for a while. Only connect the power supply and try to turn on your machine.

You know, on this virtual path is not easy to say what the problem is here. In my opinion best optin for you is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.
Addresses and phone numbers, you can find on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/ASP_SUPPORT/

  • If I have if I reset my phone will be I lose contacts and text messages

If I reset my phone I'll lose contacts and text messages

If you mean if you hold the Home and Power buttons simultaneously and keep them pressed until the Apple appears, then unless there is a problem, you lose all the data. However, it is always a good idea to have a backup in case things go wrong.

    Good luck

  • Battery Tecra M11-130 with not power and the fan runs constantly

We are having a problem with the battery on one of our laptops. When left for an hour or two the laptop turns off because the battery is dead. We have mounted a battery new but still only get about 1.5 hours.
In addition, the fan runs continuously. I looked at the PC Healthcheck software which shows as follows:
    * Power *.
    Other costs 14%
    40% of energy consumption system
    Good battery
    * Temperature and fan *.
    CPU temperature 67%
    System internal temperature 56%
    88% fan speed

    I would like suggestions.

    > We have mounted a battery new but still only get about 1.5 hours.

1.5 hours is a common value, you should consider that dough working time depends on its portable use.

Battery needed to dump a lot faster if the CPU would be stressed out a lot in your case, that something could run in the background, lose power CPU performance and the dough.

In addition, you said that the fan runs constantly this could discharge the battery too.
Therefore, it would be interesting to know what process emphasizes the central unit.

Start the Task Manager and check the processes tab. In the CPU column, you can find the process that emphasizes the central unit.

In addition, to change the settings for the CPU performance and cooling of the activities in the options of Win 7 powers that would help to increase the performance of the battery.

  • When the capacity of the battery falls Satellite Pro U300 occasionally lose power

    Hello

I suspect you have a defective battery (standard installed on the laptop) on my new Satellite Pro U300 - 11 k and I wonder if someone had a similar problem.
When the power drops to 10%, my laptop occasionally loses power. In the range of less than 7% capacity always loses power, i.e. either fails to start the hibernation, or is unable to complete the process (I can always tell if power was lost during hibernation because of the characteristic of the system of protection HD sound). I did several tests, especially in the power saving mode. "High performance" mode power seems to be a little more reliable, but still fails to shut down less than 5% of the capacity. The level of Hibernate by default on the Toshiba Windows Vista pack is as low as 2%, so I can wait until it is able to work at this level.

Overall the battery capacity is about 1 h (Media Player, fashion high performance, maximum intensity) at all about 2 to 2.5 hours (slowed or text editor, mode, brightness low power saving). Charging time is about 1 hour (seems too short). They are difficult to objectively assess that Toshiba avoids quoting the specifications of the battery, but I consider the question of the reliability of the above as being a serious (do not want to take the risk of damaging the HD). I am considering visiting the service center, but leaving both the computer and the battery with them would be a nuisance for me and I would rather avoid it if I can. I wonder if I can claim the warranty on the battery alone?

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Background information:
-The U300 is a few weeks old.
-The battery has been fully charged and discharged (approximately 15 times since purchase).
    -Cooldown takes 1 h - 1.5hrs
    -J' using Vista Business
-J' went through the power settings to make sure they are ok and to change threshold levels
-I am an experienced business user, I use a laptop computer at work which stops always perfectly to the power level of 3%

    Thanks for help

Reading your post, I do see no battery issues! Everything you say is right and not a malfunction.
Please note that the Vista operating system needs much more computing resources and the battery is much more emphasized running Vista!

Please also note that the level and time to discharge the battery can be different! Everything depands of the use of the laptop!
All the portable devices and parts waste the power of the battery at the same time and that's why there are differences in the discharge procedure.

Don t be afraid and take advantage of your laptop but if you think you will need to contact the ASP in order to clarify this issue, then feel free to contact service technician.
They should be able to help you.

  • Satellite C650 loses power

My Satellite C650 loses power, there is a loud click speakers, and then the screen goes black. Sometimes, the computer can be restarted, the screen, when it restarts, indicates that the computer has been shut down incorrectly and there are several options for recovery - mode of diagnosis, etc..

It sometimes reboots then crash even less a minute sometimes she'll go longer but if I wait for an hour or so it will usually restart ok. It started during the summer and I thought that it was getting hot, but he started again recently (winter).

    Can anyone help?

    > My Satellite C650 loses power, there is a loud click speakers, and then the screen goes black.
Do you say notebook computer is turned off or simply, the screen stays black?
On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here. You must perform some basic tests.
For example, start computer laptop, enter the BIOS settings and let him for a period of time see if the laptop turns off only.
Also try to boot OS in safe mode to see if the same thing will happen again.

Alternatively, you can try to back up all your important data and reinstall OS using the recovery image just to see if the same problem persists with the factory settings.

    Test this and post comments.

  • Map I/O behavior when PC loses power?

    Hi all

I'm working on an existing Labview application that uses a number of fieldpoint i/o modules.  IO modules measure voltages and currents on a system of current alternative and contactors etc. nearby.  I am worried about what happens when you run a Labview program and the PC loses power?  The outputs go to a defined or random State?

If a PC using modules e/s always being on a UPS?

    Thanks for any clarification,

    Sean

Using a controller of fieldpoint or fieldpoint network module?

You ask about knowing if a PC loses power.  But your concern on when the network module or controller loses power?

If your PC loses power, but not the network/controller module, then all output should stay at their last good value.  Basically, you have removed any communication providing updated data.

If the network/controller module loses power, then all modules IO would lose power.  But if the power comes back, then modules e/s would go to their default start state until the PC would communicate a new value for them.

You should also watch the watchdog functions.  I know a controller fieldpoint has them, but I have not worked with a network module.

Like Thoric said, it is essential for safety, then the PC and/or fieldpoint controller/module must be saved with an inverter.  Factor in the code so that it can detect the loss of power and set all values and exits in your system settings of security before the UPS battery would die.

    Hello

Laptops today are designed to switch to the battery and drain a little and
Re-load. This keeps the successful battery and helps to prolong its useful
    life.

Both my Toshiba will be the battery once a week and 80% drain
and then reload. Of course once they have re-charged they workpieces then on
    A/c power.

If the laptop does not back the the a/c, then there may be a problem with
the charger, charge the cell phone circuit, or the battery.

Here are some tips to help and troubleshoot battery issues.

Old battery? Unplug the power to the computer - remove the battery and clean the contacts with a pencil

    1. ASUS laptop computer only connects if I'm sitting next to the router loses power after a few feet

I have the same problem with this ASUS Ultrabook. New brand ASUS but in two different houses and I have the same problems. Get right next to the router and it connects ok. Get a few feet away from the router and the ASUS gets angry and does not connect. Downloaded the latest driver, but that did not help either. Obviously, this is a faulty piece of equipment in the laptop. Great joy!

  • Should the virtual computer restarts when ESX loses power?

We are currently testing out redundancy ESX and we found is that one of our ESX goes down (loses power) the VM restarts and arrive on an another ESX.

These should be restart?  They transferred just not on the other ESX without a reboot?   I need to know if it works as intended or if it is a problem of config on our end.

    Thank you!

Yes, it's exactly what should happen.  When your host died suddenly, all CPU/memory status is lost.  Therefore, they need to be restarted.  Note: HA is not VMotion.

In future versions, you will be able to run a second instance of critical VMs on the intermediate hosts, and in case of failure of the primary host, VM secondary will pick up where the other left off... a bit like RAID-1 for the virtual machine.

Have a HD Sony Wega KDF E60A20 TV that loses the sound and picture for a bout a minute then light up again.

I'm sorry to hear what is happening with your TV. I need more information about the problem you are having with the unit. When the TV loses sound and the image is there any light that flashes on the control panel of your TV (e.g. lamp, timer or power)? What is the video source connected to the TV?

Follow the steps below to troubleshoot the TV.

    A power reset.

    1 turn off the TV.
    2. unplug the power cord of the TV from the power outlet.
    3. let the TV remain without power for 60 seconds.
4 plug the power cord into the power outlet.
    5. turn on the TV.

If the problem persists, try to pull up the TV menu when the sound and the image is lost, just press the Wega door button on the supplied remote control. See the menu? Note If there is no light, which will blink on the Panel of the TV when the problem occurs.

The new App Store for El Capitan update has locked up my macbook pro.  Reboot got about 3/4 fact and the machine stops. Turned off the power and turn it on again for nothing doesn't.  How in my machine to begin troubleshooting?

The problem is most likely an attempt to update a system malfunction prior it is probably a problem with your computer, not the El Capitan.

    Start by:

Reset the PRAM and NVRAM on your Mac.

MacIntel: Reset of the controller (SMC) system management

Start in Safe Mode , and then re - start normally. It's slower that a normal start, so be patient.

    If you are unable to start;

Reinstall El Capitan without erasing the drive

Please make sure that you back up.

    1. Restart the computer. Immediately after that the chime hold down the command and R until the Utility Menu appears.
    2. Select disk utility, then click on the continue button.
    3. Select the withdrawal (usually Macintosh HD) entry of the volume in the list aside.
    4. Click first aid icon in the toolbar. Wait until the button is active, then click it.
    5. Quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu.
    6. Select Reinstall OS X and click on the continue button.

Also, see this tip for user: basic steps for the OS X upgrade.

    If this doesn't get you;

Install Yosemite or El Capitan, from scratch

    Backup if possible before proceeding.

Restart the computer. Immediately after the chime hold down the command and R buttons until the Apple logo appears. When the Utility Menu appears:

Select utility disc in the Menu Utility, then click the continue button.

When loading disk utility, select the volume (entered into withdrawal, usually Macintosh HD) from the list of devices.

Click Delete in the main window of disk utility. A panel will fall.

Define the type of Format Mac OS extended (journaled).

Click on the apply button, then wait for the done button to activate and click on it.

Quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu.

Select reinstall OS X and click on the continue button.

Did you use the right adapter?

To be honest, it looks like a malfunction of the power supply motherboard maybe electronic issue of power.
the power indicator would start flashing amber if the AC adapter voltage is abnormal or failure of computer power supply.
