My S7-392 has a built-in battery that I had to reset which allowed the laptop to reboot normally. As in, I was able to boot up to Windows 8.1. However, as soon as I logged into Windows, it hooked up soon. Do the restart 3 times triggered the automatic repair/update option. That I took and returned to Windows 8. I had a Bios 2.05 2.03 intead and I had to install 2.05 before making updates. I recommend you seriously all the people who use the S7-392 to strictly follow the installation procedure for Windows 8.1 mentioned on the Acer site.

  Please update your Bios to 2.05 before installing something new, especially a new anti-virus.

Mounted heat sink. When I start the system, the fans the whirlpool correctly, but system does not (Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit). Why? Motherboard? Intel G965 Express Chipset?

  My roommates son asked me to help him to be on the internet, which I did, ran unusually slow in doing so, I noticed it when I checked, I found that the notebook had three solutions of different software protection, antivirus, Norton, McAffrey and AVG 2011 version for free. Also I noticed he had some solutions that provided a diagnosis, list of problems found and wanted to pay for the product before they would allow acccess to the fix. I uninstalled Norton and the McAffrey and improved the AVG free version of 2012. I also uninstalled the pesky diagnosis/buy me for the correction and the ask.com toolbar software. I installed ccleaner from piriform as well. The laptop seems to run a little faster, but the next morning he projected blue and when I tried to start it in safe mode it not loaded so far and then frozen, always in the same spot something AVGi and then it crashes, it will not load the rest of the necessary drivers. I tried to boot to the last known good as well. Problems started awhile the 'evil' netbook to start.  After one or 2 low power it started again. Then the battery fails to charge beyond a certain level and now it will fail to start.

  I search the web and forum and there seems to be a BIOS problem.  I found the instructions on how to flash/upgrade to day other models but not this one.

  This is a rather confusing questions and about * me off no end!  I know that some of you may have encountered this already and could have a potential solution?

  I have an Acer Aspire all-in-one, AZ5101 (Aspire Z5101), with 4 GB of RAM, etc..

  Since the Developer Preview of Windows 8 came out, I've been running Windows 8 perfectly.  I completely uninstalled (each time itself) and run the following:

  Windows 8 Developer Preview, 64-bit

  Windows 8 Preview of consumer, 64-bit

  Windows 8 Preview, 64-bit version

  In any case, on this PC worked perfectly - y INCLUSIVE of the TOUCH SCREEN.  I never had a problem.

  So far so good.  Then, they finally released updates Windows 8 Pro official licensed by download.  I bought the upgrade and downloaded.  Just like in * ALL * other cases, upgrade, I chose "keep nothing" of the old system (I never really got all the important data on here), and do the upgrade itself.

  After the upgrade was complete, and ALL Windows 8 Pro updates have been applied by Windows update, I have a system where the screen is clear and precise, everything works, and all devices in Device Manager, show the Greens well, it works fine - NO ERRORS.  HOWEVER - NO CONTACT!  No touch no screen function at all.  The screen now has this time as a standard monitor.

  I tried the driver Idéacom - no luck.  Anyone know (please? LOL) how to get the touch screen to work again?  Thank you very much!  I really appreciate any help you can give.  Microsoft technical support had NO idea and no reply emails from Acer! Laughing out loud
