My BlackBerry Q10 Q10 BlackBerry was stolen. The device password is safe?

Hello world

Today, someone stole my phone while I was on the train.

I have locked my beloved BBQ10 with a password via BlackBerry Protect, disabled my SIM card... and oops. I can't send any new order because my sim card no longer works. I've seen on forums that my operator cannot reactivate the SIM card (I hope he can, I'll make a phone call tomorrow).

I have ALL my files, accounts of messaging, photos and notes on this phone. I already changed the password of my email accounts, etc... But I'm worried about the stuff I have inside this phone.

My phone is safe, even with a password?

It is said that the next time that my BBQ10 will be connected to the network, my device will be wiped. But friends tells me that the password will not lock my phone too long. I'm a little afraid.

Thank you.

Your data are safe, once the thief or whoever it is, try the tenth incorrect password entry, the unit will immediately and automatically, in a wipe of security data, the personal information, contacts, etc. Map of the media is NOT wiped off, the memory of the device.

To add to the above, if there is a password for the device in use when the backup was created, and the backup to restore, you will be able to restore the backup, but you will need the password to unlock the device after restoring.

  • Passport for blackBerry "political COMPUTER requires device password to have the value" since I added a school e-mail account

I added a school e-mail account to my passport, which reqirered the phone to be password protected. I hate to enter a password every time I do on my phone. I deleted the e-mail account of the phone in the hope to do away with the login password, but it did not work. The phone does not allow me to disable the device password and wrote "political COMPUTER requires device to put password" below the option to turn on/off the device password. Any help or a way around it would be greatly appreciated.

    Very well. Good luck.

  • Smartphones blackBerry need my terminal to get blocked because my blackberry was stolen

Hi, my blackberrybold was stolen and I wanted my terminal to blocked the person who stole so he won't be able to get into my pictures, sms... can I retrieve my contacts also?  could you do something for me? I have the pin code of the terminal and the version of software written in blackberry desktop software would it be useful to block my terminal and retrieve information? Please help me or tell me what should be I have not set up blackberry protect on my cell phone before it was stolen:'(que puis_je faire?) Thank you

The first thing to do is call your operator, SFR, and have cancel them your SIM card. In this way, no one else can rack up charges on your account. Also ask them if they will blacklist the IMEI number. This will make the phone unusable to anyone else on any network worldwide. If you have a backup made with BlackBerry Desktop Software you can restore it to another BlackBerry phone. What a pity you didn't BlackBerry Protect installed on your phone, because you could have done the phone useless to someone else on your own by wiping all data from it and lock it with a password so that no one else can access it.

I wish you only good luck to return to normal.

  • BlackBerry smartphones IS INSTALLING IN BB PROTECT PASSWORD RESET RESET THE DEVICE PASSWORD

    1st post ever.

BB TORCH 9800 IS RUNNING ON T-MOBILE UK NETWORK PIN PROTECTED

I started with the BB BOLD in 2009 and moved to BB TORCH 2011 when I had an option of upgrading, so I'm pretty familiar with BB.

My device is protected by BB and there's the option of password reset on the leg for the identification of BB. What I'm not clear all is if this resets the password to access BB Protect or it can reset the password for the device. I'm on my attempt at entry 9 password, and here's how I got here.

Summer using the phone as normal through today. I have the protect of spindle of 10 minutes, i.e. whenever the phone is idle, he hangs himself. PIN protection also need to install the software etc, so I must have unlocked the phone at least 12 times or more today.

As usual, I've unlocked the phone 2 hours ago to send and receive BBM PINES of a couple of friends who have stopped. The only thing that struck me is that one of them used a BB Pearl and the BBM PIN is all non-alphanumeric numbers. After they were gone, thought I'd check on my emails and tried to unlock the phone as usual, and he kept on the return "Incorrect password." I couldn't believe it that's a pin Digital and thought it was a mistake and continued.

By my 7th attempt, put the sim in a spare handset and called my operator T-Mobile, they said there was nothing they could do, I had to enter in contact with the RIM. Put the sim card in my BB Torch and gave him another chance (at that time it asks you to type in "blackberry" and your password in clear text)

Fortunately, I had BB protect enabled, I signed the and saved my camera.

Under the my device tab, you can change the password for the device. T o do you need to enter the existing password (known), enter a new password and then click on the locking device. Done everything that he went and came back to say this device has failed.

Tried to unlock the unit 9th attempt.

    What are my options?

The BlackBerryID reset password affects ONLY the password of the BlackBerryID... NO password security of the device itself. Two completely different things.

It's weird, but not impossible. I've seen a lot of BlackBerry wants a digital-only PIN. Not much.

It has nothing to do with you the problem.

I guess it's that you have entered your only security digital password wrong... only not by pressing the ALT key to make the number.

Often users with more than one digit in their password will only press the ALT key to the first digit and not those who follow, so for example, if your password "1234", you could put pressure on 'Alt 1234 "on the device, making the real password to be"1st".

Who is? It sounds familiar to your use?

In order to verify the manner in which you enter your password on the device... do you think that you enter several numbers, but in fact are not?

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not disable the device password!

I was playing with my Storm the weekend and decided to apply a password to the device. Now I can't turn it off and I hate that I am constantly asked for her. When I go to 'Options', then 'password' it has not the ability to disable the password feature. The toggle button at the top of the password page is soft gray with a tiny tiny red lock next to her and I can't click on the button. The only thing I can do is to change the password. Any suggestions? !!

I solved my problem. I did a reset of the handset and that got rid of the option activate the password. However, when I did a backup of subsequent restoration of the handset, I was careful to choose only what I wanted really saved (address book, calendar, etc.). If oyu make a full backup that you will get the active password once you restore again.

  • Smartphone blackBerry OS with the top PASSWORD Lock button

    Hello

To begin, I HATE how the top button snaps no more. I just updated my OS to the latest version.

I would like to know the most recent operating system that still has the lock button high locking with password lock.

NO ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION (for example press alt + entry, set the convenience etc keys)

I used to have a 5.0.0.4xx, and now it's 5.0.0.6xx or something. I did some research and I think that the newer operating system with the password lock is 5.0.0.536.

Can anyone confirm or deny? I have to go with an older OS?

loaded 5.0.0.415 on the phone and the locking password works.

  • Is there an API to change the device password policy?

As we know, the BES IT policy, we could configure password policy such as:

    1 history of max password

    2. password max attempt

    4. minimum length of password

    etc...

I did some research on the internet and I saw no API to get the Java application. I just want to confirm with experts here.

That's right, that there is no API for this.
