The HP OfficeJet 470 portable printer can be connected to your computer by wifi (1), (2) Bluetooth or USB cable (3).  Who do you use?

If you tell me how you want to connect the printer to the computer, I'll read the manual and give directions.  If you just want you read the manual and skip the intermediaries, go here:http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01272430.pdf

If you use the wifi (no Bluetooth), you have a wireless router or just connect to the printer in "ad hoc" mode (it would be more frequent if you use the printer in a hotel room, for example)?

You share the printer with multiple computers on your local network?

You will probably need to print the following pages:

Diagnostic printer page: press and hold the Power button and press the "resume" button (down arrow, secondly the left button) 4 times

The printer configuration page: press and hold the Power button and press the button "cancel" (X, most left button) 4 times.

Configuration page of the WiFi and Bluetooth: press and hold the Power button and press the 'Cancel' button 2 times, and then press the "resume" button 7 times [I guess HP really wants to make sure that you don't do that by chance!]

  • Mac does not see my printer "J611a"?

    Hello

I have connected my printer to my router (it shows the name of the correct router if I run a config report), but does not see the printer on my Mac (when it is wireless).  Everything works fine if I connect to my Mac with a USB port.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.  Stuart.

    Hi SRJC

I understand that you cannot set up the printer on the wireless network.

For me looks that you connect the USB cable from the printer to the router. Generally this method will not work.

You need to configure the wireless through the printing software and add the printer on Mac.

Given that the printer works via the USB on the Mac already then you can follow these steps:

    1. Click OK in the Menu bar above and then click Applications .

  • Install HP does not see the printer in network, Windows DOES. Help!

    Hello

I am trying to add my HP Officejet k8600dn to Windows 7 (32 bit) so I can scan, but the HP Installer (add device) can not see the printer. The unit is set up by cable to a switch on my network via an ethernet cable. If I go into the menu "Add a printer" Windows, I can install the printer very well. But I have to be able to scan and I don't know what to do.

Tips on getting functional analysis if the HP software is unable to see my printer? Subnet mask and gateway on the printer are the same for the computer and the printer. I typed the correct IP address in the "Add a device" menu of HP, but he sees not just it. ARRGG!

    Thanks for any help!

    Hello

I think that there is some confusion because the Officejet k8600dn is only a printer, it is not a multifunction device and does not provide the capability of scanning.

You can find the specifications below:

If you have any different model printer, please specify the exact model.

  • ENVY 4520: Computer does not see section scanner WANT

Last weekend, I bought a 4520 want TO replace a malfunctioning Lexmark all in one. I quickly learned that the software for this printer avaulable was not available for Mac OS X 10.7.5 (Lion). However, I followed the instructions on the Apple and this site and downloaded the appropriate drivers for the 4500 series. I am able to print wireless from my Mac, but when I attempy yo scan, the 4520 does not appear. In fact, printing and control panel Scan sees not the 4520 otherwise than as a printer no scan option available. Utility HP 'sees' the fevice but offers no adjustment of parameters. The application of scanning HP, does not see it no more.

While printing is the main reason I bought this unit, the scan function is also valuable and I would like to be able to use it. Of course the current HP software does not support my Mac and OS (Lion) - are there any ear; first versions of installation scanning software partitions. If not, do you have suggestions for () maybe) generic software that will allow me to use the scanner?

    -colin

    Hi Colin,

Sorry for the frustration you must be feeling.  I did some checking and confirmed that HP only provides drivers scan of your product on OS X 10.8 and later versions.  This product also supports the Apple AirPrint (scan) functionality, which allows you to scan without HP software, but still this support is only available on OS X 10.10 and later versions.

I am not familiar with the features of 3rd party scan applications.  My only suggestion would be to consider upgrading the version of the OS on your Mac (if possible) because this opens up your options considerably.

  • installation does not see the printer when I plug

I have a printer HP LaserJet, 1006 running on a Windows XP 32 - bit attached to a USB1 port system. I have no USB2 ports. The printer works fine, but the drivers are up to date. I downloaded the file (hp_LJ_P1005_P1505_Full_Solution_ROW.exe) and when I run it, and it gets to the point where it tells me to connect my printer, I plug in and turn on and nothing happens. Apparently the installer does not see when I turn on my printer. The problem would be that it is plugged into the port of USB1 and if so what do about it?

Sorry must have misread your first message.  Before trying to reinstall the software, make sure that the printer and the old software is uninstalled.  The installer can be easily confused by older facilities, in order to ensure that those who are cleaned before installing the latest orders.  Hope that helps.

Microsoft did not your hardware - done HP.

All support for it - regardless of your operating system - is the manufacturer of the equipment.

  • Router sees Officejet 6700 computer Win7 sees the router computer does not see printer

All-in-one printer, HP Officejet 6700 sees Motorola Netopia DSL router model 2247-N8 (and vice versa). (The printer takes a valid IP address via DHCP on the appropriate wireless network and the router is able to ping the printer and sees the printer as a device on the wireless local area network). The computer Dell Studio XPS 9100 years under Windows 7 Home Premium sees the router and is able to surf on the web. • My computer does not recognize my printer installed as a scanner.

Recognize a scanner.  My printer is also a scanner.  My new computer recognize the printer (in a network), but does not recognize the scanner function.  When I try to scan a document it tells me that I don't have a scanner installed?  What should do?

Normally, the input devices can be shared, at all, but this is not always true of scanners.  You will be able to share the scanner if the manufacturer has provided a software specialized for this purpose.

You must use a network scanner (which eliminates immediately most, if not all, USB scanners) and a specialized software (that comes with the scanner) to do this.  If you're talking about a consumer grade flat USB or parallel port scanner, you can most likely not.

HP, Canon, Xerox, Oce, Kyocera Mita and other companies manufacture network capable scanners (they devices actually multi-function was also copying, printing and sometimes fax and e-mail) and specialized software accessories.  The cost of these devices usually begins somewhere just below $4, 000.00 USD.

The application of HP PrecisionScan Pro, version 2.03 and higher, normally provided with some low business scanners from HP range, allows some of the functions of the sweep to share.  See the documentation provided with the scanner.  (I know that it works, if not very well; I configured HP ScanJet 6300 C and C 7490 devices to be shared, using the provided software.)

    Hello

If your router not booking IP use.

Otherwise, configure the computers with static IP addresses.

Then go to sharing and permissions.

    Maybe this can help.

Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq.html#trusted

Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .
