Hello
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
This clearly shows that your PC has been infested with malware. This style is called "denial of service attack". You need to format your hard drive and do a clean install of Windows or you need to contact the vendor of the antivirus software that you use, to support.

my computer has vista, how it can change window 7
response of Vista how do to change window 7 low
augustine52 wrote: response of vista how to change window 7 low
Hello augustine52, if your system comes with Vista, you should be able to upgrade to Windows 7. I would like all first download and run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, which can be found here .
It will scan your system and determine if there are any problems that might prevent you from upgrading to Windows 7.
It will also determine if you have Vista x 86 (32-bit) or x 64 (64-bit). If your Vista system is the x 86 version and you wanted to move to the x 64 version, you would be required to perform a new installation of the x 64 version, while you might switch to the x 86 Vista to Windows 7 x 86.
If there are no problems that could prevent you from upgrading to Windows 7, you should be able to acquire either a Windows 7 upgrade version or a full version of Windows 7 retail.

My computer has been stolen! It had Windows 7 Professional 64 bit for the new buildings of the computer. I still have the original disc and product key. Can I deactivate the license on the stolen computer and install my copy of the OS on my new computer? I'm having a hard time trying to find the funds to buy what I had once and I think it's not fair if I have to buy a new product key, when I still have the original disc and has been victim of theft.
If its an OEM version of Windows, you are probably out of luck (can't hurt to try). For a version of "Retail"...
If you a proof of purchase, then you may be able to get a replacement.

New computer has Win 8.1, old computer has Vista - two different worlds?
Transfer files from my old computer Vista on my new computer with 8.1 was a mess (Windows Easy Transfer has failed, Dell help do everything for me).
Now is the time to throw the old computer (Vista), but want to make a backup of the data before deleting. My question is this:
If I do a backup of my Windows Vista desktop in the center of backup and restore that data can be read on a Win OS 8.1? If not, is there another way to save old computer in case a vital file did not have its way on the new computer?
Hello
How to backup your data in Vista is to go to where your data is stored (documents, music, etc.) > right click on what you want to record > place your mouse cursor on send to > have a Memory Stick or USB hard drive connected > Send your data to that.
Go to Windows 8/8.1 > open the Explorer file in the bar of > have plugged USB > copy the respective folders data files there.
It's the old way to transfer data between different operating systems, or to make a backup in your case

Original title: update\update.exe message is not a valid file when tried to install IE8 KB2744842 patch
I got this virus live Platinum security. I think about Microsoft bulletin as CVE - 2012 - 4969 Backdoor: Win 32/Poison.BR supposedly he is gone now with PC Tools Spyware Doctor with antivirus. I can no longer get critical updates to www.update.microsoft.com and cannot go there and get either them. I have automatic updates turn on my computer, but when I go to the update site, it asks me to turn on the automatic updates, but doesn't change from red to green. If I click on the express, it gives me a message there is a problem with the web page. I have read some solutions and typed in will looking for three files like BIT and update, but the only one listed was the workstation. I did some research and found the servers to Windows IE8 patch KB2744842 and downloaded and when I tried to install it, he unpacked himself and then ran, and then I got the message saying that update\update is not a valid Win 32 application. I searched this file and found it was created on 20/09/2012, the same day I had the terrible malware and under properties, it is called configuration of Windows Service Pack, the version of the 6.3.0004.1 built by: dnsrv, internal name update.exe, English, original name: update.exe on my computer, it is C:\\bb5d6cfc84bf6a13dde9b006.update
Try to solve this problem cost me $230 plus the cost of PCTools Spyware. I called a number to the www.spywarehelpcenter.com to support when I was having trouble installing the PCTools in safemode and said Malwarebytes Pro was much better and used by companies and he said he gave me $150 off so it cost me one once charge $50 and there is no renewal and sold me a one year $ 180 contract to remove the virus and the development of my computer. He had insisted on it going remotely and showed me all these errors. I think that I made a mistake to trust him. Two technicians have worked on my computer remotely on two different days without a firewall and installed Malwarebytes Pro three times because it kept to give a message of corruption, and it is that when I pointed out to them there is no firewall that was added by a sort of sharedaccess.reg problem is I can't get and install the critical updates. I trust a third time to do things? They have deleted quite a few programs. I think that maybe the problem is that they were not aware of the fixit patch and the full patch to IE8. I run Windows XP Professional and probably should upgrade to Windows 7 in the near future.
I should add that a few days before that happened, I noticed that if I went in sysedit, the config.sys and autoexec.bat files windows were empty. My computer has always competed, but it seemed very slowly. I could not find a solution for this and read that you don't really need these files. I have the original operating system disk and has been reading how to install it, but only for the repair by pressing 'r' and let it repair missing files. So I don't know what to do. Any advice? I am so tired of this, but still have hope to operate correctly.
Hi Catnip009,
Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:
Method 1: I suggest you to download and make a bootable CD or USB to Windows Defender in offline mode, and then run the tool.

You can find instructions for this on the site of manufacturer support.
If you have no recovery partition, follow...

Immediately after having re-installed, the next task is to make all Windows, including SP1 updates if your floppy drive or the partition recovery date before the service pack.
Then install your antivirus solution. Avoid using McAfee or Norton. It is a good solution, free and easy to use...

Then, change the passwords for all programs that interact with the Internet... This includes Facebook, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Skype etc.
When you create a password, do NOT use real names and use a combination of numeric characters and alphabet, up and down case. It must be complex enough so that he could not be found in a dictionary, but not quite complex that you don't remember it...

My computer has ceased to recognize drives of games like games, they are called the re-writable discs and will not give me the option to do something else that import photos or open files.
I managed to install the game by going into the files and setting up manually, however the game refuses to play. This has never happened before, but seems to be perform two games, (a new game I am trying to install and an old, often played the game, which is no longer recognized).
I'm not sure it's related, but this computer has a trojan virus not long ago who was a pain to get rid of. I'm sure it's over now, but I thought that it is preferable to include in the case where he shed light.
I don't know what to do now. I've uninstalled and restarted the driver for the cd/dvd. This made no difference. Help, please.
Thank you for your suggestions, but none of the above helped. I've fixed since the question.
Thank God, the computer is a dell, I was able to live chat with their technicians and they walked me through different types of solutions until we found where the problem was.
The computer if it not so long ago a trojan that messed with some of the readers leaving them unable to recognize media of any kind as something other than files to open. We had to do a clean install of the operating system, which was the heart break because there was a risk of losing anything we forgot to back up and took forever to completely reinstall all the drivers and software on the computer.
The hard drive works fine now, we are relieved and grateful for all the help.
For those who have the same problem, here is the link that we used for clean installation:

What should I do or what it means when a warning is displayed on my laptop saying that this computer has the IP as another device?
This means that there is another computer/device on your local network with the same IP as your PC. Try to configure your network adapter to use DHCP, or just give it an IP address different yourself... most LANs are minimal and you shouldn't have a hard time to randomly select another IP.

My computer has lost the ability to go in mode "Eve".
From a windows update last Saturday, my computer has no opportunity to use mode 'sleep'. It's just one of the many changes that have occurred since the update: display is distorted, screen saver does not work as it did previously, sleeping capacity mode disappeared, etc.. I am very frustrated. I have nothing but turn off my computer to allow updates to day, then when I turned it back on, everything was different. I tried to set each of these things, but have had no luck. Any suggestions?
