My computer only starts in Mode safe

My computer will only start in safe mode.  In safe mode, it works without problem.  I tried to do a system restore, but could not do so even when I went back to the earlier restore point option.  I am running Vista Ultimate. This problem was caused after the download and execution of Windows Defender with a separate CD drive, I created.   I want to fix the problem, but I'm ready to give up and would like to know if I can upgrade to Windows 7 with my computer that works only in Mode safe?

Go to start / run type msconfig. Then go to the Startup tab. Secure boot is checked here? In this case it uncheck then OK then restart. You don't (generally install windows from windows or safe mode). Restart you change the boot on cd/dvd drive. Then save settings / reboot. Whats follow on-screen. This will allow you to do a clean install / format. Then he "he's installing Win7

    Hello

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

Please report back to see if this helped you!

    Thank you.

If these methods do not fix the problem, try a startup repair and / or a system restore using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft

Manufacturers recovery disks normally do not have Service Options; they are normally a relocation to the factory only settings option.

You can borrow a Microsoft DVD from a friend, if you do not or can not find yours.

Here is the guide to repair Options using a Vista DVD from Microsoft.

If a friend or a work acquantance of yours has one, you can borrow and use it for repairs.

    Here's my black screen problem:

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
CTRL + ALT + DELETE and on the tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is reached
by tapping F8 as you start several times.

  • After the update to Vista, welcome screen is recycled to disconnect. Starts in Mode safe mode only.

After the last update, just slowed down, so I restarted my Dell Studio laptop. I noticed MsMpEng.exe was the biggest user of memory and still is. I lost the desktop configuration in mode without failure, as well as some sound themes, homepage, recent files, Windows security settings, etc. Internet Explorer re - starts NEW whenever it is open.  Typing jumps about. I rebooted and restored several times in Mode safe with no improvement except to return to items on the desktop. I lost all the restore points. Msconfig is the same as the previous (selective startup), without any news. I finally got Directory Services Restore Mode and disable UAC, but have still lost all my old settings and other features. Analysis of security shows no problem. I now can't change anything as the printer creation, probably because I don't have administrator privileges with UAC off the coast. Don't download FixIt. Is there something I can do? I used regedit before, but am not game to touch.

Thank you, Dena, I restarted factory and now everything is fine. He did take 5 days to fix but. Thus, you can close this point. Thanks for your comment. Phil

  • Flash will not launch unless the Mac is started in Mode safe

This Flash app is part of the Suite of CS5 Adobe MC. The computer is iMac with the last update. All the recent updates on CS5. All other applications. in the suite are good.

Original title:-i can only start in safe mode

Ive tried to use several restore points but when I try to reboot the computer freezes and I have to start in safe mode

Safe mode is a mode where Windows works only the bare minimum programs and processes necessary to the performance of your system.  When you start in Normal mode, many more processes and applications running.  At least one of these programs or process causes your computer to crash.  If your task is to identify this program/process and, at least temporarily, to prevent it from running at startup.  Microsoft has a tool that you can use to selectively disable or or the process that normally run at startup called "msconfig".  It can be a long and exhausting iterative process of turning things off and restart to see if it you fixed program, but that's what you do:

First, disable all items "start-up".  If it does not, set it to 'Services '.  If this does not work, then reactivate some of them and try again until you zero - in on the culprit.
